Prepare to Die (2023) is an absolute masterpiece that transcends the boundaries of cinematic excellence. From the gripping storyline to the outstanding performances, this film is a tour de force that left me on the edge of my seat throughout its entirety. The screenplay is a stroke of genius, seamlessly weaving together elements of suspense, drama, and unexpected twists that kept me guessing until the very end. The character development is impeccable, making each protagonist relatable and genuinely compelling. The cinematography is breathtaking, with every frame meticulously crafted to enhance the overall visual experience. The attention to detail in the set design and costume choices adds a layer of authenticity that immerses the audience in the film's world. The performances delivered by the cast are nothing short of extraordinary. Each actor embodies their character with such depth and emotion that it's impossible not to become emotionally invested in their journeys.
"You really are as stupid as you look."
"I have a doctorate in physics!"
"Oh, I didn't know that."
'Prepare to die' has serviceable, amusing and both beautifully tough, merciless action scenes and slightly silly ones. Overall, the action part of the movie is consistently entertaining, which for me is the most important thing in an action movie.
The weak points are unfortunately plentiful and can be found everywhere else, such as in the passive direction, the weak script - which has too much unnecessary stuff in multiples, such as the overarching theme of the carebears-like stick-together-and-everything-is-possible idea and the explaining and apologising of own actions - the post-production cutting (a decent cutter would probably have cut out at least half of the non-action scenes, as they neither advance character development nor do the plot and pacing any favors) and, above all, the often terrible dialogs. There is simply far too much talking. Talk where action is needed. Talk where silence would make more sense. Redundancy and talking just for the sake of talking. Repetition and chatter at the wrong moments. It also doesn't help that the dialogs seem to come straight from writer's hell.

If you're a fan of fun, low budget movies in the vein of Roadhouse, you'll enjoy this.
It features a diverse cast, cool locations and a return to the genre for bad ass Lorenzo Lamas playing the villain this time. Throw in an off kilter Michael Madsen and a pimpin Rampage Jackson and you have a raucous good time ahead of you!
The main cast are all awesome in their roles, and play the hell outta them. For an Asylum/Tubi movie - it's pretty damn good.
The fight scenes may not be as involved as in Barrio Brawler, which was the last martial arts movie the asylum produced, but they're still well executed for the budget and fun to watch.
Don't let the haters deter you from checking it out!

The acting was diabolical to say the least like every single "actor" was awful in this film. I couldn't watch the whole film it really is that BAD!! I wish I could rate it lower but 1 star will have to do!
I don't know who wrote this who directed this and then thought we have an awesome movie guys lets release it. The story made zero sense.
It really makes me wonder if these "actors" actually got paid if it made any money 🤣🤣.
I promise you anyone who wants to watch this PLEASE DO NOT WATCH IT!!! And now I'm out of words to describe this movie so all im doing now is filling in the words to make up the numbers!

I can't believe this embarrassingly bad story where the child goes to Asia to become a martial arts expert? This is straight out of Batman and made me realize how stupid it was in Batman, nonetheless in this super low budget film. The main character played by Ryan Padilla was completely unbelievable and made me want to throw up. I can't believe Rampage Jackson let this movie onto his filmography to soil his name. This movie isn't even good enough to play in the background while you are doing laundry, it's a complete waste of time. After watching this movie, I realized I need to stay away from Tubi movies for the rest of my life. Highly recommend staying away not just from this movie but from Tubi as a whole, looks like they only cast nobody actors on super low budgets.
