Here It's a Bed of Roses

We just saw "Here it's a bed of roses" (what a long title btw) last night, and we are still trying to figure out Burcin. He is like that mysterious student in class who you're kind of drawn to, but you're also a little afraid to make eye contact, you know? The whole vibe was very Film Studies 101, which we loved. We also liked the minimal music and sound usage. Dream scenes were interesting... The pacing could be more tightened though. I loved the part where the protagonist totally loses it on the balcony -- it was weirdly intense! Overall, I think it is a successful and interesting first film.

I stumbled upon this film at a festival, and to my delight, its story has lingered in my mind long after the credits rolled. It's a reminder of the core teachings in scriptwriting classes: character, character, character. The movie shines where it counts-its characters are relatable and their journeys resonate deeply.

In a world overflowing with cookie-cutter plots, this film stands out by evoking an unexpected sense of nostalgia and reflection (at least for me who's almost 40 years old arthouse lover). There's a certain magic in the way it captures the essence of passion and discovery, leaving one curious and contemplative long after the viewing.
