MAD is about three best friends Manoj, Ashok and Damodhar aka DD, as narrated by Ganesh aka Laddu who couldn't cut the best friend's quota even though he is the one narrating the 4 years engineering story. MAD sheds light on the hostel life fun, makes mockery out of the principal, boasts about cheating in exams and a whole lot about the guys finding girlfriends while having fun drinking and smoking. How these best friends succeed in their respective love stories even before completing engineering forms rest of the story.
The film on the story part doesn't present anything that is novel and the some of the over the top jokes that don't work are painfully dated. But what stills works is the character of DD and Sangeeth Shobhan's performance is what brings life to the film. Remove him and it would instantly become a dull watch. He makes the ordinary scenes crackle just with his comic timing and ensure the other actors too get their moments to shine in those scenes. The director makes up for the routine script with quirky lines that succeed in making this a decent one time watch.

Watched it on Netflix without any expectations and thoroughly enjoyed it! Even though there are several movies set in college phase, this one is easily one of the best I watched in recent times. The overall tone of the movie is bright, happy and uplifting. No unnecessary drama or sad scenes. Kudos to the director.
A lot of people use the phrase "out-and-out comedy" to describe their films, but it is rarely true. However, this film justifies that phrase - the entire movie is filled with fun and hilarious sequences, from start to end. I personally enjoyed all the funny sequences involving the college principal.
There are some funny dialogues involving foul language, so it may NOT be the right movie to watch with complete family, but I have to say we all used those words with our college buddies, so it was very relatable and brought back college memories.
All the actors were fantastic, but Sangeeth Shoban stole the show with strong screen presence, his dialogue delivery, and what a voice man! Ram Nithin is a known face from short films and he did a great job too while looking like a chocolate boy. The only negative point from me is that the female leads were under utilized. They are all so beautiful, danced and acted very well - especially Ananthika. It would have been great if there were more scenes with them. No complains other than that.

The film in question, while lacking a substantial narrative, primarily revolves around its youthful characters and the exuberance they bring to the screen. It offers a mix of amusing and less engaging scenes, with moments of humor interspersed throughout the storyline. The ensemble cast delivers commendable performances, although it is Sangeet Shobhan who truly steals the limelight with a standout portrayal.
From a technical perspective, the production values are commendable, showcasing a level of craftsmanship that is worthy of note. The cinematography and musical score, while not exceptional, contribute adequately to the overall cinematic experience.
However, where the film falls short is in its direction, which appears to be somewhat amateurish and lacking the finesse one might expect.
Considering the overall package, it may not be deemed a must-see in theaters. Instead, it could find a more suitable viewing platform on an OTT (Over-The-Top) streaming service, where viewers can enjoy its youthful energy and moments of humor at their convenience.

Mad is genuinely a good film without unnecessary nudity, item songs, or any kind of cheap elements. It is definitely a family movie, and if you want to spend quality time with your family, then this is a must-watch wholesome thing.
The movie is all about college life, mainly engineering college life, with a little bit of family life shown throughout the story. Interestingly, this film has no single protagonist; it is the story of a group of boys, and the story is told through one of the boys called Laddo.
It is a simple story with a touch of light action, romance, and comedy; there is a very strong friendship equation. The climax is very unexpected and satisfying and by the end, it exudes a strong feel-good vibe.
Of course, no movie is flawless, laughs are subjective after all. I wasn't sitting there laughing loudly, but a great many scenes did bring an honest smile to my face.
So, I was about to give it a 7, but since it's fresh and shines bright as one of the few films in the trend-ruled modern cinema, I give it an 8.

Brilliantly directed youthful entertainer...must watch for all the college going students who would love every aspect of the movie...the movie may have new faces but the potency with which they carry the role is tremendously to be appreciated...the laughing saga goes on and on throughout the movie without a single boring element in it...Speaking about the best picks from the movie...the trio "Manoj", " Ashok", "DD" have lived the best in the movie with a thorough engaging and beatsfilled Cecireleo music that keeps all the audience swaying on the seats...Appreciation to the director Kalyan Shankar who has held a thorough story in a good flow and amazing narration skills...the local dialect at an Engineering college, the phases of students in different year, friends that happen in this process, love that sprouts in the youthful minds, innocence coupled with enthusiasm and adventure....all are these mentionable moments of the movie.... On the whole an amazing and a memorable movie to watch in the recent days!!
