Well Done Possession Short

This short film was intricately thought through to pack a punch in its small timeframe. Well shot, nicely acted, good camerawork, overall pretty decent.

Obvious issues with foreshadowing and telegraphing but I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of possession or supernatural horror with an emphasis on student art films.

A Small Masterpiece

Two sisters decide to take the supernatural into their own hands.

Director Erlingur Óttar Thoroddsen (who apparently divides his time between Iceland and the United States) has made a small, hard-hitting masterpiece with "The banishing". Not unlike the short for "Mama", we have an eerie little tale of young sisters and a ghostly, invisible woman. Both are excellent in their own ways.

This short has solid acting, wonderful directing, some scares... and an impressive level of production value. If someone said this was a Hollywood production, most audiences would believe it. The stumbles and holes usually found in independent, low-budget productions are completely missing here.

Thoroddsen is (as of 2015) hard at work on a feature-length version of his short "Child Eater". Few films are more anticipated.

about evil

A short film about evil. Impressive for the perfect craft. For the cinematography. And for twist. The atmosphere, the performances, the plot are admirable. Because it is more than a horror but wise exploration of the evil sides, sisterhood and appearences, courage and cold truth. So, a real seductive work.
