Les Survivants

I enjoyed the show quite a lot, the backdrop of a small tight knit town, managed to watch the episodes as soon as they dropped, currently on episode 4, it may become a sleeper hit, it might also cure your insomnia, in a good way though not a bad way, it's clear to see that the bay and a murder mystery can put people at arms length or make you question what you did wrong all those years ago.

Put aside some time over the weekend or during your week and give the show a chance, there may be too many characters but in a small town everyones a suspect.

Several characters could've and probably should've dropped off after episode three but it'll peek a viewing experience.

Give it a go, you may just like it.

The writing is a little off plot-wise and its easy to guess what happened, especially with the original girl. Which makes it unbelievable that it wasn't investigated properly. The acting is fine, they all manage to portray their characters realistically and you get the feeling of how big the elephant is in every single room in the community. It is an extreme slowburn, but I think it is to really get a sense of how difficult things can be when there are so many secrets and open wounds among the townsfolk.

Whats great about this is the focus on the people and not some alcoholic detective, which every other show does.

If you're expecting a series with lots of complicated or intricate plot twists and turns you may be a little disappointed but if you're open to watching a well acted show with cool Aussie vibes, showcasing beautiful scenery and a plot filled with nuanced characters struggling with their personal tragedies and life in general...you will walk away satisfied with the time you've invested.

I have only seen Charlie Vickers as villainous characters in his previous roles so he was such a wonderful and pleasant surprise in The Survivors. Fans of his will not be disappointed with his performance as Kieran.

I liked this show and it was enjoyable espeacially the characters and their stories but i think the show could be in 4 episodes because sometimes it was quite slow but the last episode was really good and plus points for the last scene at the ocean it was really sweet! Even tho I think it's a bit too long sometimes the people that made the show also captured the different people's stories in emotion really good and just the characters in general was really well written. I also liked that we didn't get the full story at the beginning but rather a lot of plot twists over all which can be good when the show is a bit too long to be a mini. Series.

While not bad, if you want another show to watch that is set in Tasmania just go and watch Deadloch or Rosehaven at least Deadloch's story moves quicker then the entire 6 episodes of this show.

I agree with previous reviews letting it "cure insomnia" because it most of cured mine, I fell asleep halfway through the first episode to wake on episode 3 and a bunch of random swearing from character, does that have to be mandatory in every Aussie script? Writers need to know that not every line needs swear words.

'Ohhh mystery" is all this show has to go on, and if you feel so inclined just go and go for a walk.
