Now, Deadline has revealed the names of several more cast members, and they are: Anthony Michael Hall (Halloween Kills), Lindy Booth (Wrong Turn), Thomas Dekker (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), Grace Van Dien (Stranger Things), Nicholas Hamilton (Brave the Dark), Sydney Park (The Walking Dead), Jorge Lendeborg Jr. (American Carnage), and Drew Ray Tanner (Riverdale).

When Kenan Thompson joined Saturday Night Live in 2003, it was noted that he was the show’s first cast member to be born after the 1975 premiere (Thompson wasn’t born until ’78). These days, he’s known as the longest-tenured cast member in the show’s history, as he has been on there for 22 seasons – leaving the previous record, Darrell Hammond’s 14 season run (before he moved on to being the show’s announcer), in the dust. Now, Variety reports that, in addition to continuing to bring laughs to network television on a weekly basis, Thompson is also executive producing a campy horror comedy film called Halloween Store.

In a sit-down conversation with uInterview, actor Jon Seda shared how he prepared for his role as a villain in his new film Into the Deep. Into the Deep follows modern-day pirates who kidnap a boat of tourists and force them to retrieve sunken drugs from shark-infested waters. Seda reflected on how he prepared for his role as a psychopath in the film. “When I was first presented with this, it’s always intriguing to hear…’Hey, will you play the antagonist?’,” he told uInterview founder Erik Meers. “It’s easy to just think, ‘I’ll just be a bad guy.’ But I like to find out — I think all of us have a bit of good and a bit of bad. You know, some of us lean towards one way a little more…to me it’s why, what causes or what has caused someone to lean more this way or that way…...

Jon Seda is TV royalty. The actor has been a staple in procedural dramas for over two decades, but One Chicago fans will always know him, and love him, as Antonio Dawson. Seda played the character for six seasons on Chicago Pd, and helped expand the franchise by spearheading the lone season of Chicago Justice.
Seda currently stars in Into the Deep, a pulse-pounding action thriller. The actor plays a villain opposite Scout Taylor-Compton and Stuart Townsend, which is fun flip on the gritty but noble Dawson on Pd. We were lucky enough to discuss Into the Deep with Seda, and we also got the lowdown on whether the actor would ever consider returning to the One Chicago franchise.

Directed by Christian Sesma, Into the Deep is a decent watch, but if you watch it with the expectation of seeing something new or authentic, then you will be disappointed. If the aim was to make people aware of the urgent need to safeguard the marine environment, then it could have been done in a much better and more impactful manner. Due to a lack of inventiveness, the film is reduced to being just an underwhelming story of a woman named Cassidy who overcomes her fears by making a courageous move and tackling it head-on. So, let’s find out if in Into the Deep’s ending, Cassidy is able to overcome her past trauma or not.
Spoiler Alert
How did Cassidy’s father die?
In a flashback sequence, at the beginning of Into the Deep, we saw that Cassidy was spending some leisure time with her parents. Her father...

Last year, we learned that, forty-nine years after playing a major role in the Steven Spielberg classic Jaws (and fourteen years after making an appearance in Alexandre Aja’s Piranha 3D), Richard Dreyfuss had been cast in another film that promises to be packed with aquatic thrills, Vigilante Diaries director Christian Sesma’s Into the Deep. The film received a digital, On Demand, and limited theatrical release last Friday, and will be getting a DVD and Blu-ray release in the UK on February 3rd. To promote these releases, a clip from the film has dropped online and can be seen in the embed above. Dreyfuss got attacked while in a cage in Jaws, and this clip shows Into the Deep‘s version of a cage attack.

Into the Deep (2025) Movie Ending Explained: Will Cassidy’s Courage Be Enough to Survive the Depths?
Let’s be honest—we’ve all sometime in our life dreamed of channeling our inner Indiana Jones and finding some hidden or sunken treasure. Sure, working hard is great, but finding treasure that changes your life is a feeling like no other! But what happens when this adventure takes a dangerous turn? When the same waters hiding treasure are also home to sharks, hungry for blood and tracking your scent for miles? That’s exactly what the characters (tourists) in Christian Sesma’s movie “Into the Deep” (2025) face when modern-day pirates take them hostage at gunpoint. Forced into shark-infested waters, they must search for sunken treasure while fighting to survive.
“Into the Deep” is based on something we have all seen before about a big, scary shark wreaking havoc while some side story plays in the background. However, the film still manages to keep you hooked, at least for a one-time watch.

As the end of the first month of 2025 approaches, cinema fans can expect a few more treats through streaming, theaters, and VOD. Horror fans, in particular, will have their fill of content. Shudder delivers an unnerving tale of social spiraling and skin ripping with Grafted, Steven Soderbergh delivers supernatural thrills with Presence, and Robert Eggers' Nosferatu lurks its way onto VOD. At the same time, two lesser-discussed terrors making their way to VOD in Bystanders and Into The Deep might make for a pleasant surprise.
Theaters will also see two new notable releases: Mel Gibson's Flight Risk taking off and a new thriller from Neil Beger in Inheritance. With plenty to watch, these are our top movies you must check out this weekend. Info on all notable releases and where to watch them are listed below.

As a young girl, Cassidy saw her father killed by a shark while getting her to safety. Now a grown woman, Cassidy is returning to the same stretch of coast near Reunion Island on the anniversary of his death to try to put her nightmares behind her.
Along with her husband Gregg, they’re going out on a charter run by his friend Daemon Benz. On the way out she has a flashback to her grandfather Seamus telling his students “The ocean is a dangerous wonder, you’re a visitor here. You are a guest of their kingdom. Be careful.” It’s the first of many platitudes we’ll hear from him before the film is done.

“Into the Deep” mixes traditional shark thriller elements with a hostage drama, offering an alternative to standard storytelling. The film opens as Cassidy witnesses her father’s death by a shark, establishing her emotional path. The story examines both human and natural dangers, showing how human greed and environmental damage connect to modern social fears.
Director Christian Sesma’s underwater camera work brings to mind the visual approach of French New Wave directors like Truffaut, showing the ocean as both beautiful and dangerous. Though the flashback scenes sometimes interrupt the flow, the film keeps viewers engaged.
Delving into Depth: Character Exploration in “Into the Deep”
Cassidy stands out as a deep character study in “Into the Deep.” Scout Taylor-Compton plays her character from wounded victim to strong survivor. Her path goes deeper than fighting off threats – she faces the mental wounds from seeing her father die. Her story reminds me of New Wave films,...

Into the Deep releases January 24, 2025.
Richard Dreyfuss and sharks just don’t get along. I can relate. Sharks are my number one greatest fear and my phobia of the fish began with Steven Spielberg’s Jaws. Dreyfuss returns to the genre with Into the Deep, A film that blends elements of childhood trauma with the terrors of the ocean. Shark movies are a dime a dozen, and more often than not, they’re living in the saltwater shadow of Bruce the Shark. Into the Deep does its best to tread water, but ultimately fails to stay afloat.

As a child, Cassidy (Scout Taylor-Compton) witnesses her father’s death, eaten alive by sharks in the open ocean. Years later, on the anniversary of his death, she returns to the ocean with her husband, Gregg (Callum McGowan), for a leisurely cruise on a modest tourist boat.

Jaws made us all afraid to go in the water (unfairly giving the world a phobia of sharks) when it was released in 1975. Now, one of its original stars, Richard Dreyfuss, is saying "let's do it again!" Dreyfuss stars in the crazy new horror film, Into the Deep. Alongside Halloween's Scout Taylor-Compton, the first trailer teases the underwater carnage. But, if a shark with a lust for blood wasn't enough to terrify you, why not throw in some pirates just for the hell of it? Check out the new trailer for Into the Deep below!

"The ocean is a dangerous wonder. That kingdom is your kingdom, too." Signature Ent has revealed an official trailer for Into the Deep, yet another new shark movie to dive in with. This one is from filmmaker Christian Sesma, best known for a lot of junk B-movie action thrillers. Richard Dreyfuss returns to face off against the ocean's most deadly predator in this jaws-some underwater thriller. A group of divers searching for sunken treasure witness the murder of drug dealers by modern-day pirates, but a killer great white is determined not to let any of them escape its waters. A daughter must confront her greatest fear to survive and make it home alive. The movie stars Scout Taylor-Compton, Jon Seda, Stuart Townsend, and AnnaMaria Demara, along with Dreyfuss. This is an interesting concept mixing a pirate thriller with a shark horror. Still looks very cheap and cheesy, but hey, most...
