Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers & ‘The Daily Show’ Compete In Late-Night Emmy Race As John Mulaney Misses Out
Image
There was a lot of buzz that John Mulaney was expected to gatecrash the late-night Emmy race but it was not to be.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Daily Show, Late Night with Seth Meyers and Jimmy Kimmel Live! will fight it out in the Outstanding Talk Series category.

These four competed last year alongside The Problem with Jon Stewart, although the host of the latter is now one of the hosts of The Daily Show after his Apple series was canceled.

John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s In LA did not make the cut.

Hot Ones, the online chicken talk show hosted by Sean Evans, was one of the other outside bets for a nomination. The show, which was created by Chris Schonberger,...

2024 Emmy nominations ballot: See all 14 Variety Talk Series contenders from ‘Black Girl Stuff’ to ‘Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen’
Image
In 2015, the TV academy decided to split the variety series Emmy category into two separate ones in order to better recognize achievements in the talk and scripted subgenres. This year, there are 14 shows vying for spots in the Best Talk Series lineup. For comparison, the 2022 and 2023 ballots each included 19 hopefuls. Four of the series listed below will reap bids this year, giving each entrant pretty good odds.

All 20,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until June 24 to cast their ballots for their favorite talk shows. Each person is limited to four choices, reflecting the number of eventual nominees. Which of the talk series listed below do you think will make the final cut on July 17?

See 2024 Emmy nominations ballot: 1,658 performers vie for your consideration (that’s 770 fewer than last year)
