No pun intended - on the surface (not that surface, though maybe that too I reckon) this looks like a way too easily depicted and portrayed picture of society ... the rich and their wastefulness ... not caring about things. Everything founded on and upon the work of the poor people ... even procreating is being served (literally).

The fact that you have only females in the main character roles can be interpreted differently too I reckon. If you really care there is more to discover and you can read a lot into the very well shot pictures here. Set design, lighting ... acting ... there is a lot to like with this one. You just have to have the patience and also accept there is not just the in your face stuff happening here ... there is much more ...

A banquet of ladies. Each guest discovers, in a cabbage, a baby . But, when the hostess must receive her child, a technique accident changes the thing, offering to viewer the occasion to discover the obscur details giving birth to gifts and luxury and the sorce of cabbages and babies.

An eating scene reminding Bunuel , a bizarre gift provocking the end, pretty brutal, of banquet , and the motherhood of a lady who tries , entire evening, be the perfect host.

Sure, at the first sight, little original, after long chain of distopias. But well performances, inspired crafted images and nice moral. Not last, the last scene as significant one.
