Indeed, the first temptation, after the experience of many films of genre, is to be critic about Napa Ever After. Same recipe, same development of story, same final.
But it is saved by...crumbs.
More than fair romance, well acted , decent crafted, it is a film about family, legacy and its meaning, family and options, very unrealistic at the first sight, but the onlyy reasonable ones.
Sure, location, supporting performances, the inspiration of Denise Boutte to propose a character full of seductive nuances in pretty realistic light and the nice portrait of widower , father of charming girl offered by Colin Lawrence are good points of a story who remains a real useful remind about things real matter in life.
So, little more than a nice film.

Fantastic, cool, funny actors - from the leads to the supporting cast - so well chosen! Fine story about family, loyalty, friends and not to forget - a little bit of romance. What a lovely location, vineyard, house and village - one felt immediately at home there. Of course, the story about the inheritance of such a place can't come without stumbling blocks and greedy bankers, but it did totally without telling lies, silly misunderstandings or overhearing something and getting it wrong, like we know from other movies of the genre. It was refreshing and so well played.
I will watch it again, what a pleasure!

I got this from my library on a Hallmark Channel/ 6 movie Collection DVD. I am surprised that this was the best movie out of the 6. I didn't expect to like it, the rest were mostly duds, but this movie is really very good. The actors were very good and convincing. There was a real chemistry between Denise Boutte and Colin Lawrence. And I liked the ending. So often these Hallmark movies just end on a note of very good 'friends'. This one didn't beat around the bush.
The problems encountered in reviving the vineyard, the wedding venue, and house were very realistic. The scenery, and the house are beautiful. I didn't care for the background music much though. I found it intrusive.
