Limited series “Who is Erin Carter?” and docuseries “Depp v. Heard” led Netflix’s top 10 most-watched series this week.

“Who is Erin Carter?,” which follows a thrilling tale of a British expat teacher living in Spain, scored the top spot on the weekly list with 13.2 million views, while “Depp v. Heard” came in the No. 2 slot with 8.3 million views. Opioid crisis-based series “Painkiller” moved from No. 2 on the list last week to third place with an additional 5.6 million views.

“Untold: Swamp Kings” and the second season of “The Ultimatum: Marry Or Move On” debuted in the fourth and fifth spots on the list with 5 million views and 3.6 million views, respectively. After debuting Part 2 of its second season in early August, “The Lincoln Lawyer” Season 2 remained on the list in the eighth spot with 1.9 million views.

“Extraction 2” has climbed its way to the 10th spot on the Netflix’s most popular original films list.

The Chris Hemsworth-led action flick has logged 129.3 million views in the 66 days since its launch, coming just behind its first installment “Extraction,” which holds the No. 9 spot on the most popular list with 135.7 million views earned in its first 91 days on the streamer. As of this week, “Red Notice” and “Don’t Look Up” led the most popular films list in the top two spots.

In terms of this week’s most-watched TV, limited docuseries “Depp v. Heard” debuted atop the English TV list with 16.2 million views since its August 16 launch. Limited series “Painkiller,” which tackles the opioid crisis and the Sackler family’s role in the tragedy, came next in the No.

Pixar’s ‘Elemental’ and Sony’s ‘No Hard Feelings’ Debut on VOD Charts but Fail to Dominate
Image
This week, the top title for at-home viewing is all a matter of perspective. New releases “Elemental” (Disney) and “No Hard Feelings” (Sony) took the top position at Vudu and iTunes, respectively, while last week’s unanimous #1 “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” (Sony) kept the lead spot at GooglePlay. With “The Pope’s Exorcist” now #1 at Netflix, Sony topped three out of four lists.

Expect more changes to come: “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” (Paramount) reportedly debuts August 29 and unconfirmed reports have the PVOD of “Barbie” (Warner Bros.) as soon as September 5.

It’s notable that “Elemental” doesn’t dominate. The Pixar film sustained a better-than-anticipated theatrical run of $151 million domestic — five times its opening weekend — and $458 million worldwide. But with a reported $200 million production cost before marketing, it needs a very strong post-theatrical response that starts with PVOD.

Both “Elemental” and “No Hard Feelings” debuted as $19.99 sale titles rather than 72-hour rentals.
