The trivia question near the end of the show asked: "In this week's episode, Ortegas recognizes Nausicaan symbols from an ancient dom-jot set she'd received as a gift. What future captain nearly lost his life over a dom-jot match while attending StarFleet Academy?"

However: 1) a Dom-jot table was not a gift to Ortegas, it was just being offered in a trade; 2) The captain in question was not still in StarFleet Academy; he and his friends were on leave just after graduating at Starbase Earhart, awaiting assignments.
