The Titanic ship has long been a symbol of human ambition and tragedy, which was once deemed “unsinkable” until it sank. The incident was further popularized by Jack and Rose’s romantic saga helmed by James Cameron. Over the years, the fascination with the Titanic has only grown more.
Over a century later, another disaster unfolded just meters away from the gigantic ship’s wreckage, and this time around, it involved a cutting-edge submersible named Titan. The vessel was operated by OceanGate, and now shocking details of its ill-fated expedition have surfaced, including one weird link to Pearl Jam.

Coachella is known for hosting some of the biggest headliners for music festivals, but they also find room for more unique acts. This year, Yo Gabba Gabba!, the band from the titular children’s show, performed at the Mojave Tent, and brought on a slew of guests, including “Weird Al” Yankovic for his debut performance at the Indio festival.
“Weird Al” joined Ygg! for their final song, a cover of The Muppets’ “Rainbow Connection” which received a roar of applause at its end from the crowd. “Weird Al” wasn’t the only guest for the cover though: Portugal the Man., Thundercat, and Paul Williams, who co-wrote the 1978 song made an appearance, too.

Not every TV and film production will stop amid dual strikes by SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild of America. A host of projects stopped work after writers went on strike against media companies for better pay, streaming data transparency and protections against artificial intelligence (among other issues), and many more have paused since actors walked out on July 14.
There are exceptions, however. SAG-AFTRA’s strike rules allow for work on productions covered under different agreements, and the union can grant waivers or sign interim agreements with independent productions. Below is a list of TV shows and films that fall under those designations; this story will be updated as more productions earn waivers.
