Agathe Riedinger's film does not reproduce romantic clichés. It is wonderfully authentic and, like life, unsweetened. Flawless acting and the development of characters that are hard not to get attached to. An excellent script that consciously - with a maturity rarely seen among debuts - avoids the beaten paths of drama. The director hints at them and then consistently leads us down a different route. The reality of this film is far from the black-and-white simplifications to which decades of patriarchal narrative have accustomed us. Here, the woman is the subject. Beautiful cinema, unbelievable debut. 10/10.
Yesterday I came across to this gem of a movie. One of finest examples when film festivals had get it done rightly. The beauty of this film is, that it prepares you for the worse but with little hope in humanity. Broken promises, cruel life but you can still dream on. It's too sad to watch but it is Alive. In the whole movie you feel so saddened with the disappointment that people are experiencing because of their surroundings and people around them. In every second there is worse to happen but with every second it gives you more positivity. The people are so real in it. Hates off to the actors and director who didn't deviate from their goal.

So refreshing to see a movie different to simplistic male heroes journey that patriarchy shoves down our throats every day. For a woman there were so many nuances of body image, impossible expectations (being oversexed and virgin at the same time and still patriarchy hates you) etc. A worthwhile watch with themes of class, society, belonging and impossible standards and ever present threat.
I think it's a fantastic work of a lady director and I look forward to seeing more movies for female gaze. I liked how it explored religion and how it was very muddy and difficult. Excellent movie I recommend.

"Wild Diamond" is a film that is absolutely not for everyone, but for those sensitive to social affairs and culture. It tells the story of Liane, a woman searching for her identity, her value, her mission, and ultimately, her family. Liane is an extreme example of a lost personality in the modern world, reminiscent of Camus' concept of the rebellious man. She hesitates to take the final step towards complete liberation, while simultaneously discovering what she so deeply desires. What might be missing from the film is a deeper exploration of the main character's inner thoughts. Ultimately, we have to infer her reflections from the events, words, and incidents that unfold dynamically. These primarily introduce us to her desires, not necessarily to her heart.
