The film starts good has intrigue tries to flesh out characters but the intrigue begins way too early.
For the way the character's dialogues show no complexity their motives and behaviours are complex. The Dialogues though simple feel real like something you can hear or speak on a daily basis.
The screenplay for a complex and contrived plot need a hefty amount of shadowing. This causes the viewer to feel like a passenger on a derailed train. But not necessarily...
This is a good attempt and we need more attempts like this. To tell information without it being infodump or lecturing or having the characters behave as school kids or dumb fools is a rare thing in Tamil cinema. Some of it is reminiscent of dheeran adhikaram ondru minus the action of course.
The story is airtight. Because there isn't much happening. There are very few characters. There is very few marked events and the same characters talk back and forth interacting with each other. Nothing fancy or put of the ordinary has occured in the film.
It's just decent. And it doesn't deserve a 9.1 rating at all. Let's reserve that for groundbreakers and Mavericks and the rarest of the rare please.

This is an amateur attempt to remake/adapt the Argentinian classic film "Nine Queens" . The adaptation was kind of OK. Shame on the writer/director for not giving the credit to the original version. I do recommend people who are reading this review to see if this film is worth or not to watch "Nine Queens"
This film is already remade with their own adaptation in Hindi (Bollywood) as bluffmaster. All the main plot lines and everything of paramporul exactly match with "Nine Queens" they have just adapted this to Tamil nativity with an Idol smuggling backdrop .
I seriously respect filmmakers who inspire adapt or remake others's work directly by calling out the original's name and giving the story credit to the original. This way of copying other filmmakers creativity is very cheap.
I have checked out a couple of interviews from the director after watching the film he is claiming that this is their own work.

Paramporul is a 2023 Tamil-language crime thriller film directed by C. Aravind Raj and produced by Sakthi Film Factory. The film stars Sarathkumar, Amitash Pradhan, Balaji Sakthivel, Visent Askoken, Charles Vinoth, and Kashmira Pardeshi. It revolves around the smuggling mafia of sacred temple idols and a cop who involves with a smuggler to make money out of a sacred idol, possessed by a murder victim.
Engaging story, well-written screenplay, and excellent performances from the lead actors. Sarathkumar, in particular has a strong role and a powerful performance as a police officer who is torn between his duty and his greed. The film's first half is particularly strong, with the director (Aravind R) building up suspense and intrigue expertly. The interval twist is also well-executed and leaves the audience guessing about what will happen next. The second half of the film is not as strong as the first, but it still manages to hold the audience's attention till the very last 5 minutes. The climax is very satisfying, with the director providing a fitting conclusion to the story.
Paramporul movie will definitely be in my all-time favorite list. I am impressed with the director, especially considering that it was his first movie. Taken his time to build up the story and the characters, which makes the payoff all the more satisfying keeping the audience engaged throughout the film.
Overall, I am very impressed with this film, and I believe that the director has a bright future ahead of him. I am eager to see what he does next.

Positive reviews from social media motivated me to watch this movie and the movie was a carefully crafted thriller that didn't disappoint me. The songs were also classy and it was only, in the end, that I realized Yuvan Shankar Raja did the music for this movie. This is one of his best works so far.
Sarathkumar is getting some good serious roles this year. 'Por Thozhil' was the other thriller movie in which he played a major role. Don't expect some gross scenes in this one unlike 'Por Thozhi'. This film stands out as exceptionally unique, and I admire the way the creators have crafted the screenplay. The story is also truly remarkable. This movie is going to get a wider reception from the audience in the coming years. Do give it a watch.

I think finally Sarath Kumar Sir is getting all love since from Por Thozil and now Paramporul..Had a low expectation for this movie but when i saw rating now i am satisfied with the story and engaging script.1st half was awesome along with interval its like a puzzle hard to solve and hard to decide what's is running on both lead actors mind. Usually when watching movies like this we can predict the story easily simple concept idol smuggle and a story about common man need for money and greed of policeman to settle in life not in a good way. Kashmira was cute and i felt this movie is awesome yaar.
