    Even better then the first

If you saw the first Bull Shark then you know what it was. A low budget movie that still managed to live up to the great shark movies of the past like Jaw's and Deep Blue Sea. It wasn't perfect because its low budget but what they did with that was impressive and better than what anybody has to offer who works with budgets around the same. I'm not sure if this one had more money or not but it seems like it and it shows. The characters you loved from thefirst are back with more thrills more scares more humor and more shark action. Summer is coming fast and that means you might be looking for a good shark movie to watch. If that's true then make sure Bull Shark 2 is on your list but be sure to watch the first one before or you won't be able to follow.

Better than the previous movie, but still basically just rubbish...

The 2022 movie "Bull Shark" was a pretty terrible movie, so I have to say that I wasn't exactly harboring the biggest of expectations to this 2024 sequel. But with it being a shark movie, and a movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I opted to sit down and check it out.

Turns out that this movie was slightly better than the previous movie, but it was still a pretty lousy movie. The storyline in the movie is flaccid and forgettable. In fact, you can leave the movie for a prolonged period of time, then return and still be up to speed with the events. Yeah, writer and director Brett Bentman didn't exactly pen down the most riveting and exciting of scripts and storylines here.

Actors Thom Hallum and Billy Blair return to reprise their characters in this sequel. But I have to say that while actor Billy Blair is a good enough actor, then I didn't buy into the fact that his character Nolan Holt was supposed to be a wild game warden, no sir, not even for a second. The acting performances in "Bull Shark 2" were fair.

Visually then the movie wasn't outstanding. There wasn't exactly much of any special effects throughout the course of the movie.

If you manage to sit through all 75 minutes that the movie runs for, prepare yourself for a royal slap to the face with a cold, dead fish once you get to see the ending. It was such a predictable and laughably bad ending.

Ultimately, don't waste your time on "Bull Shark 2", it just wasn't worth the effort, not even if you enjoy shark movies, like I do.

My rating of writer and director Brett Bentman's 2024 movie "Bull Shark 2" lands on a most generous two out of ten stars.

    Well, at least it's short

I thought the original, 'Bull Shark', was actually decent except for the stupid ending. Unfortunately, in this lame effort, the stupidity extended to the entire movie. As with the original, I didn't think the acting was bad if you disqualify the first male character we meet. I imagine he won't be getting hired again anytime soon with this in his portfolio. But from the opening attack, which is totally unbelievable, to the completely inane final scene, this film is filled with one head-shaker after another. One of the worst features is the shark graphics. Which appear to be out of a first-generation video game. I don't think the shark they show is even a bull shark. At one point, the thing even changes shape. Also, it appears to be a baby, which would make the amount of attacking it does rather suspect. On top of that, in this huge 300 mile lake (I think that's what was said in the first film), the thing appears to occupy a 50 ft radius. And there's not much to the film other than the quest to kill the shark, which again, is done in a really stupid manner. Definitely not a successful sequel. I can't believe there is yet another one.

    An utterly unwatchable genre effort

Following a savage attack, the surviving towns members of the previous series of bull shark attacks become concerned there's more creatures in the lake and try to convince the authorities that there's still sharks in the lake leading to a deadly battle to stop the creatures from spawning.

This was a flat-out awful sequel. The only good elements with this one is the enhanced nature of the shark attacks featured here which offer up some interesting sequences featured here. The opening sequence of the divers going on a party where they get attacked and devoured is quite fun with the stalking coming off nicely enough involving the shark coming up behind them and getting close enough to chomp on them producing some solid wounds and bloodshed. On top of that, the finale is the only other interesting part here where everything comes together in a solid enough plan to try to stop the shark which is interesting enough, all making for the few positives here. Beyond this, there's nothing to like here. The idea of there not being any shark action for nearly an hour in a film just barely over an hour is a deadly idea where it's got so little of interest here that it just meanders slowly until the end. There's no sense of excitement or energy in anything that happens, whether it be the sidestories that aren't interesting or just dealing with the lives of the locals in the time since the initial attacks. Coming up with more melodrama about their troubled past which makes everyone want to doubt the validity of their story involving the returning shark or the small-town life that is in place trying to move on from what already happened, none of this is interesting or exciting with no shark action at all in this amount of time so the pace is just immensely dull. As well, there's just no shortage of stupidity in place here trying to make people more sympathetic to their plight. Focusing on the park ranger who's a good-natured but rampant screw-up doesn't make him endearing when his antics border on the criminal with the negligence displayed trying to earn a living in the town, while the inherent idiocy of the town politicians to blatantly ignore more shark attacks because it will interfere with their celebrations trying to move past everything makes no sense as it just paints them as villains for reasons that are immensely baffling. Combined with its low-budget limitations, these all make it one of the worst entries out there.

Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Language and Graphic Violence.

Hallum is decent, film is shocking.

A trip of youngsters foolishly go out onto the lake, none of them return, unfortunately Spencer Timms has retired, but one of the victim's mother persuades him to track the shark down.

It's just devoid of any action, apart from that opening sequence with the three people on the boat, nothing much else happens, it's just a very talky, slow moving film.

It really does remind me of Jaws 2 in more ways than one, not just talk of electrocuting the wretched CGI abomination. At times the second Bull sh** does look like a plastic float, and that scene where the shark is shot, rolls over and plunges into the depths is hilarious.

If you're a fan of Thom Hallum, then it's worth watching, he's decent, he puts his all in, he's a good looking guy, he does at least add a little something.

I have the first one some praise, I can't find much to lavish on this one, unfortunately it's a very poor follow up.

    3/10.

When Nolan lights the single candle on the piece of cake and moves to turn around, you can clearly see that the flame flickers out and is extinguished. But when the camera comes to film him turning around from a different angle, the flame is somehow still burning.
