Jiji reported on Dec. 25, 2023, that the 25-year-old man, Fukuta Kishimoto from Kyoto, was arrested and charged with intimidation after directing a death threat toward Ishikawa. He had posted the message "I'll s*ab her with a knife and k*ll her" in November and was arrested the same month. He has now confessed to the charge.
