There's a clear willingness to explore the gray areas of morality makes the characters and their dilemmas all the more compelling and I enjoyed that a lot. Not everyone HAS to be all good and forgiving, and not the bad guy is all bad.

I won't ever understand so many negative reviews criticizing Yang Zi as XiaoYiao/WenXiao, she literally nails the portrayals of the characters, acting both like a cheeky uneducated man and also like a noble born lady, and you will watch her transform herself before your eyes and see her pain, feel her love and every other emotion she goes through, a worthy performance.

Also have to mention that Tan Jian Ci playing Xiang Liu/FangFeng Bei, was the perfect cast for the tortured soul yet filled with love and compassion Snake demon. There were so many scenes where not a word was needed for this actor to be able to make us feel the pain and love of his character through the screen.

I am a converted fan. I am looking forward to watch him in the second part of the series.

I have finished reading the novel last year and really loved the story. When i started to watch the drama since episode 1, im bring hooked! The casts, plot, cinematory, CGI, OST and directing are all on point! Tong Hua, the writer of the novel is also the screenwriter for this dtama, thus it is no suprise why the drama turn out to be great and follow almost the storyline of the novel, particulary the highlight of the storyline which are significant to the novel readers. I would suggest to read the novel before watching the drama so that you can understand more on the plot but it would be a spoiler then 😬 nevertheless, so far im satisfied with the drama and really can wait to watch it until the end and continue in Season 2.

Amazing Drama. Recommended. Beautiful history, incredibly performance. Excellent chemistry with actor and actresses. Yang Zi surprises me with her role of the main character. Is really a drama that makes you cry and laugh. Great adaptation from the book. Yang Zi impression of her character makes her awesome. Each chapter or episode has a unique detailed from the book. Fascinating, excited, great panomaric scenes. I watched so many dramas but I really consider this one as a masterpiece. Is is worth it the time you see this drama. Maybe in the future more dramas like this should be made. Amazing.

You know a production when it is screaming QUALITY and this is LOST YOU FOREVER. I always love the novel and I am so glad that the drama delivers the chapters in the novel with justice. I beg to disagree with other reviews here that Yang Zi acting ain't good. She is brilliant as well as the the three male leads. It is the way how the novel described in writing now in motion the characters here. The cinematography is just so high level that I have not seen for years. I am glad that the drama depicted it better from the bovel. Naturally all the novel chapters will not be depicted in a drama but they showed the key chapters to deliver the story completely. Plus, this is S1 so the continuation of the story will be in S2. And, just remember this is a fantasy tragedy drama so there are really quite twist of events . Conclusively, over all for me this is really a good quality production. Don't be sucked with those reviews that give negativity coz that's not really the case .

I will try to be impartial as I'm a Yang Zi fan , for me , as an international fan of kdrama , cdrama and tdrama , I find a lot cdrama corny. I'm also not a fantasy fan as I find a lot of impossible nonsense of some acts and plots. When I first heard that this is a book adaptation which is a lot popular , I was very hopeful and since Tong Hua personally supervised the shooting , I began very hopeful. Soon , I'm watching the 1st episode and I was hook already , why ....... because of the setting , the vivid colors of the setting are one of the most beautiful I have ever seen except in Hollywood films. Regarding the actors , especially as I never seen them act before , ZWY , TJC , DW ... they really suit the characters . For 2023 , this is only the 2nd drama I love and for me the best yet... 1st drama is My Starry Love for the lead female role of being the badass. YZ here is very good as expected but the emotions the role needed is really in another level. She really gave a very very great performance , they all do . It may not be perfect but I can't imagine any other who can give justice for the characters the role need. Congrats to the whole LYF family

This drama is really great, i love the cinematography and the effort of the production to make adaption. The story is about Xiao Yao and four men that she encountered that hold special and different place in her heart. When she was still kid she and her cousin which is the male lead of this story Cang Xuan lost both of their parents to the war and family conflict. From that moment they promised always be there and protect each other however they need to part their ways due to the conflict of their royal family, when Cang Xuan finally went to search for Xiao Yao, he learned that Xiao Yao already escaped to look for her mother, but the destiny is so cruel Xiao Yao end up in the hand of bad guy and get tortured for years, that incident affect her mentally and physically cause her to lose forget who she really is and change her identity to a man name Xiao Liu. She does not pretend to become a man, but she is a man, i really dont know how to explain it but those who have read the novel wil understand what i meant. She lives happily in Qing shui Village for years as Wen Xiao Liu but that happiness doesn't last long after she met those who will change her live forever......

What i want to said is don't listen to all these stupid reviews, go watch it i swear it's worth it because the acting of these actors is magnificent and will move you to the core of the bottom of your heart.

I'm a huge fan of the novel and really enjoyed the original book as well.

I was worried about how the remake would turn out, but this drama didn't disappoint. This novel is not the love entanglement of four men and one woman as mentioned in other comment areas.

Every man in the novel has his own career, ambition, and standpoint, and the heroine's childhood experience is very painful, so this drama is also the heroine's own salvation.

I saw a lot of people commenting on the actress's appearance in the comment area, but I don't quite understand it, because many of us are immersed in the stories in the plot instead of seeing how beautiful the heroine is. She is not a beautiful woman, even if her appearance is restored in the later stage, the original book does not say that the heroine is a beautiful woman.

A very good drama. Everything just beautiful (except the eagle's cgi. Lol).. Haters take their time to write a long review just to put this drama down. Chill guys. Enjoy your life in a good way. Be good to others.

The plot in this drama very slow, but not a big problem for me, i can enjoy watching it. The blood need to be more real. Yang zi not as beautiful as the other actress, but her acting just so good. I don't like xuan's wig when it shows his long hair. Xiang liu sometimes act too much, but his storyline with xiaoyao is the best so far. Shiqi makes me feel sad everytime i see him. Haha..

This drama teach you how to rely on yourself. Because nobody will help you, except yourself. All actors portrayed the character very well. This drama not only about love but about family, friendship and power. This still ongoing but i like how Yangzi portrait Xiaoliu without burdened as idol. She really want to Xiao Liu look like mid age man. If you ever read the novel i promise that you will not disappointed. Almost all the detail in the novel you can find in the drama. The crew of this drama is so careful and this make us a viewer really enjoy watching this drama. Well, this looks like 4 males chase 1 female. But this drama more than that.

It is based on a novel that is very popular in China and most young people have read it. The soundtrack for this TV series is fantastic, with typical Chinese romantic symphonies. Although the theme is tragic, there are some funny little moments inserted into it that will make you cry for a while and laugh for a while. The performers are great, and each individual person seems to live as if he or she were living with us, real and complete. The sceneries recorded are so beautiful, ther're just like my screen pictures.

Btw, the plot is really good, I don't understand why so many idiots say they can't understand it.

There seems to be quite a few people who is trying to black this drama by giving ridiculous review and rating. I personally think those real reviews are like us. The ones who really watch the drama.

Yangzi's acting has always been one of the good actresses i have seen. Been watching her dramas since Ashes of Love. Watching her is never disappointing. It is the same for this drama.

Just started watching 5 episodes and it has been pretty good. It tells you of the start of each character that would eventually evolve into a greater story later. Excited to continue watching as i think it will get even more interesting.

I like jing who is very loyal to xiao yao, xuan who still looking for xiao yao even though she is infront of his eyes, xiang liu who is always xiao yao's protector, a nian who is the spoiler sister.

This drama is great, wonderful story, great writer and screenwriter and great director. I realy like everyone in this show.

Lately i've seen a lot of people giving bad reviews about this drama even though they haven't even watched it. If you don't like the actors, just close your eyes and don't mess with the drama. Good drama deserves good result. It was everyone hardwork for months. Don't judge drama base on your favorite actors and insult drama that aren't your favorite actors.

Hi guys, I've read some of the reviews that was written and shame on the ones that haven't actually watched the drama that rated it one star. I know you know who you are. Just because your bias didn't have great results in their work this summer does not give you the rights to bring others hard work down just because they are killing it in all the charts from not only their fans, book fans and passerby.

P. S if you guys feel that your bias acting in threaten by Yangzi and the crew than continue to blacken the drama. It's pretty good to have free advertisement.

Anyway, to the review from what I have watched so far which is ep 1- ep 12. I only have these words to say: how am I going to survive till the end of first season than torture myself in waiting for the second season! OMG I literally cried in every episode so far and it's just the opening/introduction to the actually drama it self.

If anyone who had read the novel like I did than you know how close the first arc of the series ties into with the book. I've seen some complaining about the slow start, but for readers and drama viewers to understand what's going to happen in the later part of the drama they have to pay really close attention to all the things that is happening right now because there is going to be a lot and I mean a lot of foreshadowing going on. Also, unlike a lot of other drama out there, especially the newer ones seem to always gloss over what causes their character to act a certain way or why their character decision on certain things.

I want to write a whole 6 pages plus essay about this drama, but I want people to actually go and watch it and experience it themself. Also, for those who are being mean and cyber bullying Yangzi about her look than same on you. Can your bias act and willing to actually focus on their role vs trying to alway look beautiful in scene that require then to look realistic?

I don't understand some of the reviews here w/ poor ratings, which obviously a deliberate , malicious attack to the drama, or the reviewer doesn't know how to appreciate a masterpiece because was blinded by hatred/jealousy. By far one of the best Chinese custom drama I've seen, the attention to the details, the cinematography and the plot , kudos to all the cast and to the behind the scene crews. I love Chinese custom dramas, but it only takes a few ones that i will stick watching it till the end and this drama is one of those that I anticipate to watch the next episode. I highly recommend you to watch it, all the cast are In sync with each other, their storyline and characters are on point, I can easily follow, its not one of those confusing storylines.

I approached "Lost You Forever" with high hopes, but sadly, my expectations were not met. This drama attempted to deliver a captivating tale of love and romance but stumbled on several fronts, leaving me feeling disappointed.

One of the main issues with "Lost You Forever" was its unconvincing plot surrounding four male characters falling head over heels for the main heroine. While love triangles can add depth to a story, this drama seemed to take it to an exaggerated extreme, bordering on unrealistic. The lack of substantial character development and genuine reasons for their infatuation made the whole concept feel forced and contrived.

Moreover, the attractiveness of the cast, especially when it comes to the male leads, left much to be desired. In a visual medium like television, the appearance and charisma of the actors play a significant role in drawing audiences in, and unfortunately, "Lost You Forever" fell short in this aspect. The lack of on-screen chemistry and charisma between the actors and the main lead further dampened the overall experience.

The biggest letdown, however, was Yang Zi's performance as the main heroine. As an experienced actress, one would expect a more nuanced portrayal of her character. However, her acting came across as overly exaggerated and lacking in authenticity. Instead of immersing myself in the protagonist's journey, I found myself distracted by Yang Zi's attempts at over-the-top emotions, which felt disconnected from the essence of the story.

Despite these shortcomings, "Lost You Forever" did have some redeeming qualities. The production values were decent, and the cinematography showcased picturesque scenery that added a touch of beauty to the drama. Additionally, the soundtrack was well-composed, controlling to the emotional atmosphere of certain scenes.
