Poor emotional landscape

The only thing that this movie is midely good at is showing the connection between the 2 adult brothers. Michel de Robert tells us in numerous interviews that his youth in the woods with his brother was the happiest time of his life. The movie's repetitive scenes of the boys splashing around in a river and running in a field fall short of conveying this feeling. The presence of the narrator feels superfluous and takes away from the atmosphere of silence and connection with nature which should have been one of the focal points of this film. The viewer is left hungry for poetic scenes. The wide array of emotions that one expects are turned into a one-emotion movie from beginning to end. There are a few heart-felt dialogues, but they alone can't carry the whole movie.

One of the worst movies I've seen

This movie fails in every conceivable aspect of filmmaking. The writing is absolutely atrocious, filled with glaring inconsistencies and a lack of creativity. The dialogue is so poorly crafted that it feels unnatural and cringeworthy, completely pulling you out of the experience. The storyline is a mess, lacking any coherence or depth, to the point where it's impossible to determine what-if anything-about it is supposed to be true. It lacks any sense of realism, with not a single moment or element coming across as believable or grounded in reality. Every scene feels artificial and disconnected, leaving me baffled and disappointed.
