Terrible acting and cinematography, actually everything is bad

I was tempted to stop watching this movie on the first 15 minutes but I thought that i should give it a chance but I wasted my time. Acting and special effects, script, directing, everything bad. The best? Lavinia Postolache beauty, but her acting was mediocre. Don't waste your time like I did.

Totally disappointing!

I really don't understand the high score from some votes. This movie is really very bad. How can you give 8 stars to such a bad movie? Bad production, bad directed, very poor and bad lines. It's a shame. They're a lot of Bollywood movies much much better. I wasted my time because I wanted to give him a chance, but I found out at the end that I just wasted my time... Don't waste your time on that.

Two hours wasted on this film

After I wasted two hours on this film; I did some research on it and found out that the budget was about $275,000. Great job of producing any movie for that amount. However, I did not enjoy the movie. Six different times it seemed like it was going to mercifully end but unfortunately it did not. Acting was bad, script was bad, dialogue was bad. Not sure how these initial reviews rated it so high unless they had family members or film crew members rate it that high. If so, nice try but it did not work. This is the first movie review that I have ever done. I did so because I was so stunned by how bad this movie was.

Cannot believe people can give such praiseworthy comments to this tatty, amateur nonsense I have just paid to watch, awful acting, ridiculous approach to a potential important story. Thoroughly confused and pathetic purile drivel

Terrible acting

I can't believe I wasted two hours of my life on this absolute train wreck of a film. The plot was a jumbled mess, full of gaping holes and nonsensical twists that made zero sense. It felt like the writers just threw random ideas together and called it a script. The acting was PAINFULLY bad-wooden deliveries, cringe-worthy dialogue, and zero emotional depth. Even the lead actors were absolutely terrible, seemed like they were just reading lines off a cue card.

The pacing was atrocious, dragging in some scenes while rushing through others, leaving no time to care about the characters. The cinematography was dull, and the climax was so underwhelming that I actually laughed out loud at how ridiculous it was.

If I could give this movie zero stars, I would. Save your time and your sanity-skip this disaster at all costs. There are far better ways to spend your time, like watching paint dry or staring at a blank wall. At least those activities won't leave you feeling frustrated and cheated. 0/10 - One of the worst films I've ever seen.

Take this on.

Watch this now - FALSE COLORS deserves a broad audience. Considering the current state of global-affairs and recent revelations of the Deep State cabal, this movie is political grist to chew on and digest. Impressive production value for an indie film, solid acting, and clearly William Norton is a writer/director to be watched.

Entertaining yet accurate film...

As a retired intelligence officer, I was impressed by the accuracy and credibility of this film. The acting and stunts were also superb. Several plot twists add to this film's appeal and I'm surprised no filmmaker to my uncertain knowledge has explored the geo-political angle running through William Norton's plot. Kudos to him for tackling such an ambitious project in his first feature and I'm intrigued about his future films as well as whether he'll attempt a sequel to False Colors...

An indie of epic scope

All good movie reviews must take into account how a movie was made, preventing smaller efforts from being overlooked, and thus avoiding total domination of the industry by deep pocketed studio fare. A $200 million dollar major studio production shouldn't be judged against a true independent film relying on boundless resourcefulness rather than unlimited resources. This debut feature from writer / director William Norton is one such film whose indie roots should be understood. Considering its reportedly minuscule budget, this film succeeds in delivering a fascinating story of epic scope. Instead of relying on the finances of multiple funding partners, False Colors uses ingenuity to achieve its goals. It will be an inspiration to anyone who has ever dreamed of making an independent feature that would be enjoyed around the World. The story, centering around the discovery of a biological weapon of 'mysterious origin' in Iraq in 2003, is easily related to the events which have recently and dramatically changed the face of civilization across the globe with the outbreak of Covid-19. The movie can be seen as a cautionary tale or one possible version of reality today, depending upon one's willingness to explore deeper than front page news headlines. False Colors is a film that carries the torch of the earlier political thrillers by the likes of Pakula and Pollack while keeping current with elements reminiscent of The Bourne series, Enemy of the State and Jack Ryan to name a few. This film deserves to be seen.

Great Indi film

William Norton did an excellent job! You'll love the film especially if you live in Los Angeles because you'll see so many familiar sites like Lucques restaurant (which unfortunately just closed), the Santa Monica Pier, Hollywood Blvd. and the Merry Go Round in Griffith Park. There is lots of action and the virus theme is sure timely.

gripping and relevant

William Norton has crafted an extremely timely political thriller that strikes a nerve while it gets your pulse racing. The cast is very strong, and Matthew Gilliam leads the charge with an impressively grounded and engaging performance. I highly recommend this tense and entertaining film.

Impressive especially considering budget

I enjoyed watching this movie! I was amazed on how production was so creative on it's tight budget. The plot had me in suspense throughout the film and opened my eyes about things I haven't considered before. I was very entertained and definitely recommend it!

Impressive considering the budget

Most indie films stay away from the action genre as stunts and FX are too expensive to pull off without a huge budget, but this movie does a great job of keeping you intrigued with an interesting plot and excellent performances from the actors

Utterly Engrossing!

This is a great film! The action is riveting and the scenery is so well-filmed. I especially loved the shots in Hollywood and at the Jefferson Memorial. What a good way to spend time in quarantine!

Ingenious Indie Filmmaking

In an industry where over produced superhero bubblegum takes precedence over character driven stories with substance, the ingenuity of the independent Filmmaker often goes unappreciated. FALSE COLORS, the debut feature film from director, William Norton, is a prime example of art and ingenuity, at its best. If you know what it takes to make a feature film with a cohesive story, tremendous production value, that entertains, on a low budget, you will agree.

As an independent Filmmaker, myself, and having worked professionally as a First Assistant Director and Production Manager for over ten years, in NYC's film/TV production industry, I know exactly what it takes to produce a movie on a tight budget. When I watch such a film, I usually lower my expectations, and hope for the best. With False Colors, I was pleasantly surprised. This film is on the pulse! The timing and pertinence of False Colors couldn't be more perfect right now.

I was amazed with the high quality of this production. From its cinematography, lean storyline, smartly directed narrative, and the believable performances of its cast, right down to the locations, vehicles, props, and wardrobe. I found myself awe struck, wondering, How did they do that? Then I sat through the end credits, and it all came together. The man at the helm of this amazing endeavor wore many hats and he made it happen. And it was professionally and articulately crafted. I found myself captivated and intrigued. Well done! I highly recommend watching False Colors.

A wonderful example of indie filmmaking. If this doesn't inspire you...forget it!

I found out about this film reading an article in Moviemaker Magazine. As a filmmaker myself, I was very impressed with what this Director (William Norton) made happen for such a small amount of money (relatively).

Great action sequences, an interesting, complicated storyline and excellent performances made this a purchase I was happy to make

I'm glad I bought it vs. renting it, I'll definitely watch it again...if not for any other reason to see what kind of stuff I can steal and incorporate into my own film!

Big congrats to Mr. Norton...it takes a lot to make a movie, it's even harder to pull of something on this scale!

Definitely check it out!

Hoping for the Sequal!

I had no idea this was a super-Indie until after we rented it. The production was more like a blockbuster and the plot was intriguing. You couldn't guess what was coming. The storyline and acting were both great.
