This has two moments from Disney dog centric movies. First is both the two dogs sharing a spaghetti noodle, copying the scene from Lady & The Tramp. Second is when the dogs run around them pulling them closer on the front porch, copying the meet cute scene in 101 Dalmatians.
The film was inspired by BuzzFeed's 2015 series of short films for Purina Puppy Chow called Puppyhood, and produced by BuzzFeed Studios through Lionsgate.
Grant Gustin is known for his singing, too. The most well-known of his singing roles was as Sebastian in Glee (2009).
This is the second time Grant Gustin has starred in a movie about a dog. The first one was Une amie au poil (2022).
On June 22, 2023, it was reported that Amazon Freevee had acquired the rights to the Lionsgate film, starring Lucy Hale and Grant Gustin, with the supporting cast including Jane Seymour, Michael Hitchcock, and Nore Davis.
