I just recently started watching the show & LOVED it until Season 7

Like I said, I fell in love with Southern Charm and everyone on the show. Until Season 7, GET RID OF Leva & Venita. They are nothing but bullies & loud mouths and won't shut up. I quit watching after Season 7 episode 10. Hopefully Season 8 will be back to a awesome show with the old actors back and Leva & Venita off the show, if not then you have lost a lot of people.

Definitely worth watching & probably better than you expect.

Take away the melodrama.. and you actually get a somewhat realistic view of what its like to be single (or not married) in Charleston.... Maybe more accurately what its like to live in Charleston in the Summer... Excluding the 50 something popping out kids with a girl in her early 20s.

Although there is certainly more drama than one would typically have in daily life, much of the drama actually seems fairly authentic- even if over the top.

Its a Bravo show, so I guess it has to be graded on a curve... But it seems to have a pretty high production value all things considered (actually I've never watched another Bravo series- but I have a general impression of what the housewives series are probably like).

Most of the cast members are pretty normal for Charleston (with a few exceptions...ie Whitney's mom, who is at least entertaining), which highlights that if you were to edit and produce a show of most people's lives...you could make it seem more dramatic and exciting than reality).

Overall, Much better than I would've guessed.

One bone to pick- the theme song is misplaced... this takes place in Charleston/ Not New Orleans (which is very different).

Loved the earlier seasons it went downhill.

I'm from South Carolina and most of us are not rich like the people on here and it makes me thankful that I am not rich. It's kind of embarrassing but I have to say it is very entertaining especially when you are familiar with Charleston. It actually makes me appreciate being a normal adult. I can't imagine having their life so I can't judge any of them. I think it does make you think about your own character. I did like the early seasons better. I guess the drama gets old after a while. I am so torn on whether Catherine is a decent person or not but I felt bad for her because she always seemed to be getting attacked. Season seven was just too much. Reminds me of why I don't have female friends.

An unfortunate "WOKED" up Season 7...

This has been my favorite reality show since its inception. However, political wokeness took over the 7th season with the addition of a preachy, know-it-all female cast member, taking down Vice-President John C. Calhoun's statue, the one-sided representation regarding the emoji debacle (free speech anyone?), etc. It was disappointing to see this show reflecting (and encouraging) the casualties of "cancel culture." I am hopeful though at this writing that the upcoming 8th season (beginning this week) loses its preachy and politically correct tone. Without regulars Cameran, Chelsea, Naomi (with sweet Gizmo) and Thomas (when he's on his best behavior, that is), the last (7th) season definitely lost something and fell flat for me. Let's hope this season will be more light-hearted and convivial. And OMG, please change the annoying theme song! Seasons 1-6, I give a 10 rating; Season 7 a 1.

Missing the Old Cast

Where are my people? Where is Kathryn, Danni, Whitney, Patricia barely seen, hell even Thomas I'd like to see again, because we got to see the polo life. So missing Cameron even though I know she quit the show years ago. I literally cannot tell apart Taylor and Olivia and why oh why have they made shallow Madison the star of the show? Fast forwarding through the trouble maker Leva. Yeah we still see Shep and Austen and Craig but don't care for JT at all. The show needs to go back to its roots at heart which was the original group, Danni was fabulous I even miss Naome. I will continue to stick with Season 9 but I truly hope it improves.

Too Many Cast Changes

I started watching to catch up to current seasons and segway into Southern Hospitality. I was good with it up to about season 8 I think because cast members disappeared basically. Then it got cringe with Thomas and the sexual assault which he admitted to and Bravo felt okay with showing him again and acting like that didn't happen. It almost makes me wonder with all that transpired with Kathryn, if she and new nanny staged it. The fact Kathryn moved back in with him after speaks volumes. I like Craig and Shep. I miss Cam but think she was smart to remove herself ahead of them showing Thomas. She is southern charming. I have zero pity for Kathryn and glad she removed herself. The biggest issue with this show is it's over produced and reality is lost in forced story lines. Cast changes are frustrating. Landon leaving was a plus because she was basically shamed off due to her falsely thinking she could fit into the south when clearly she is typical so cal trifling material. The hairdresser who was on survivor was annoying playing the , mom- to- everyone role like she was on a pedestal looking down on everyone. It got bad when they started white shaming and doing the whole poor me minority (i'm successful and wealthy but a victim) nonsense which is why I'm hesitant to watch southern hospitality. Shep and Craig are good reality tv as was cam and even Kathryn. Not sure why they kept Taylor except for a ridiculous plot line. Maddison isn't appealing to me. Patricia is great and I enjoy her parties and historical information she provides. Lots of bullying Shep for his age as if he's supposed to act and behave a certain way because of his age? Still, it's more entertaining than summer house but never will reach VPR status. Rating: 7.

Please let there be a second season!!

I'm ashamed to say that I'm absolutely obsessed with 'Southern Charm' and the charming cast :) Please God let there be a second season.

I was drawn in immediately by the likable cast, the humor, and the story line and dynamics of the show. The final show of the season is in 3 days and I don't know how I'm supposed to go on, lol!

I absolutely love Cameran's personality, I find Shep very likable and hilarious with his disdain for manual labor. I think Dani is awesome and I like her "friendship" with Shep. I love watching Whitney and his mother's relationship play out. They are hilarious! I also can't wait to see what happens with T Rav and Katherine!

Come on Bravo!! Please give us a second season!! You've dangled this world in front of us, don't take it away now, haha!!

A show about nothing but teenage drama

I enjoyed this show a few seasons ago, but the last couple of seasons is nothing but a bunch of drama queens whining. It's exhausting to watch. I'm done with it.

Such a Great Show. Very Interesting and gets you Hooked

I only just recently discovered Southern Charm and I am so happy that I did. I have almost binge watched 1 season a week and have just finished season 5. This show is not only great but it keeps you interested because the people are interesting. It's a nice refreshing reality tv show that gets you hooked and wanting more. I am so glad that they are making season 6 and can't wait to see that. 10's all the way with me.

LEVA THE LOUDMOUTH

Geez. Can Leva just SHUT UP? She is the biggest troublemaker I have seen in quite some time. No matter how well the others are getting along and trying to be mature adults, she has to interject with her baiting comments to get everyone fighting. Then she tries to act like she was 'only trying to help'. Pul-leeze. You are SO transparent. You are an INSTIGATOR. You THRIVE on the drama. You like to throw the pork chop into a cage full of tigers and then act surprised when there is a free-for-all.

As for the rest of them....they need to get a life. I've never seen such a bunch of useless, aimless, bored, immature, spoiled and hateful people. ALL they do is fight, and they fight dirty. My advice: 1) Stop drinking every minute of every day, 2). Stop screwing each other, 3) Get a life other than throwing drinking parties for every reason under the sun, 4). GROW UP!

I have an EXCELLENT suggestion. Why don't these people pool their money and go work at the local homeless shelter instead of the endless partying. Maybe then they would see how shallow they all are.

Great show, with real 'southern charm'

Love, love, love, this show, just like the other reviewer! Even my boyfriend loves it.

It was so refreshing to see a reality show produced and put out that was actually was worth watching. This show was actually entertaining, not just a bunch of housewives/women bickering back and forth. I fell in love with the characters and anyone that gives this series a chance will too.

The cast was GREAT, the show had class...thank god BRAVO gave it a Season 2!!!! We have been waiting for this:)

Can't wait too watch...

DRAMA

Believe it or not My favorite cast member is Whitney. Craig is an absolute lazy, narcisistic, habitual lying Moron. Shemp is ok except he is also lazy as hell & immature & has no business giving advise to anyone. Thomas is a creepy, pervy old womanizer who wants to only date 18 year olds. Kathryn is a Mentally ill fool who needs to be commited. Landon is just plain clueless & idiotic, Cameron is very level headed & intelegent. Patricia is Just Patricia. Jennifer is a trouble maker & irrelevent. JD is an annoying fool. TBH as the show goes on the guys on the show act more & more like a bunch of dramafied, sissyfied fools who are always offended.

venetta southern charm

Get her off the show. She doesnt add anything. Keep the original cast or add someone better. Everyone feels the same all she wants is her 1 second of fame playing with her wigs twirling her hair. Its so terrible to watch.

Great until this season

Loved this show until "wokeness" took over and now we have the obnoxious Leva to endure. And they clearly stuck Venita in there only to make it seem like the main characters didn't only hang out with white people. I'm ready for this show to be done.

Liked Southern Charm New Orleans. But done now with the racial disparity being preached by rich people, while I live check to check, I'm done.

What's with the men in this show?

I gave it a 3 because I like a couple of the women on the show.

Why can't what's his name take the bar? Because he can't pass it, he's not prepared. Modeling?? Seriously, Gabriel Aubry you're not. Don't leave your day job. Your buddies won't pick up your bar tabs forever.

Kathryn is a sweetheart who has a long road ahead of her as a single mom. Thomas treats her really poorly. He is a self possessed, left over party boy whose looks are shot to --it. He's aged out of the party circuit, it just hasn't dawned on him yet. A momma's boy possibly?

Whitney, another creepy wash up. Educated though, I'll give him that. He does have the snob factor in place. It's fairly obvious where that comes from, the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. Good thing momma has plenty of dough.

I'll take a pass on the next season if there is one.

South Carolina's Southern Charm, Really?!

SOUTHERN CHARM: While channel surfing, I came upon this series and it grabbed my attention and I decided to watch the show. In this particular episode, they were having a polo game at one of the plantation estates. I noticed that all of the shows casts were Caucasians,(at least in this episode). However, I was shocked that they showed the individuals (who had no speaking roles), who were there to serve food and drinks at the plantation to be black. I found this to be both shocking and somewhat racist to see this depicted in such a modern day/current TV show. I could totally understand if it were something reflecting back in the 1800's, but no, this is what they are showing as South Carolina's depiction of "Southern Charm" Very sad and disappointing, I will never watch this show again!

Easy to get addicted

It's easy to get addicted to the lunacy. It makes me feel like I have a fabulous life with amazing children and grandchildren watching this show. You can't look away. It's like a car crash on the side of the road.

Is this a show about high school kids?

These people in the show are like high school kids especially the girls. Over this show. Aren't they supposed to be adults? If I hear the word apologize one more time! What is wrong with them ? They talk like kids - don't the have jobs or lives? They don't have any blue what's going on in the world. July's looking gif the next part or hook up. People don't want to watch stuff like this. They act like children. Again mostly the girls. This is not worth watching any more. We need better shows on Bravo Give us some real world situations instead of high school. Taylor snd Olivia need to go Give us real women with real world situations.
