Refreshing

And now for something completely different... The premise of this movie is completely bonkers, but it makes it fresh and somehow it works. There's a little too much yakuza scariness and the soprano choir colleague was a little too extra for me and the prank that Kyouji pulls on Satomi is cruel and unnecessary but it all somehow works. Also, the actor playing Satomi has the perfect face for it. The character is also constructed as mature for his age, which works wonders for the dynamic. I mean the movies they were watching damn... some of these I have only recently watched myself.

Anyway, very refreshing. However I can't believe I saw the label BL for this on some sites. I mean, people's minds... Although come to think of it what is a grown man doing hanging around a 14 year-old? I told you it's bonkers, didn't I?

There's a short but satisfying scene at the very end, after the end credits. I almost missed it, only I was too lazy to get up. Be sure to wait for it.
