Two years after co-starring in Netflix‘s hit “Red Notice” with Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot is back in the Top 10 charts for the week of August 7 with her action-thriller “Heart of Stone.” Read on for this week’s analysis.
Gadot’s undeniable star power was on full display as “Heart of Stone” only premiered on the streamer this past Friday, and it was able to easily top the English-language list with 33.1 million views worldwide. It was the #1 watched film in most of the Americas (except Canada), Africa, Asia and Europe, and a great start for what should be another Netflix hit. “Red Notice” is famously Netflix’s most-watched movie ever, with 230.9 million global views total, but “Heart of Stone” will give Gadot a good opportunity to show that she doesn’t need the boys to get viewers watching.

Volume two of Fatal Seduction is out, and it completes the tale of a forbidden relationship that eventually becomes a murder mystery whodunit. The audience always enjoys a good pulpy thriller, they always make for a guilty pleasure watch. Viewers need not apply their brains while watching such shows and movies because the makers spoon-feed them well enough till the end. There is a sense of gratification one achieves while watching such media, for there are neither underlying layers to decipher nor complex characters to inspect. The predictable elements of the narrative allow the viewers to enjoy such shows and movies thoroughly. While some thrillers do sometimes surprise the audience, they manage to change the viewer’s opinion of how cinema should be made in this genre. But that is a rare instance. Below are some of the exciting yet guilty pleasure shows and movies you must watch if Fatal Seduction...

South African Netflix original, Fatal Seduction has plenty of complex and morally gray characters. Even though there was not much to offer when it came to the story and the screenplay, the arcs presented by the makers had plenty to showcase. Fatal Seduction begins as a steamy thriller and quickly transitioned into a murder mystery whodunnit. Zinhle is the only daughter of Judge Leonard and his law professor wife, Nandi. She has been raised with many privileges. Initially, Zinhle does not come across as a brat who does not care about life in general. It shows she was raised the right way by her parents, who never had any financial issues.
Zinhle comes across as a young woman who loves expressing herself through her out-of-the-box makeup, and she wants someone who will like her for who she is. Her best friend Laura, who happens to be gay, is always by...

The new Netflix thriller that has garnered loads of attention from viewers is Fatal Seduction, a South African Series. Even though the makers added plenty of steamy scenes for the sake of titillating the audience, there was some gravitas to the storytelling in the first volume, until the second volume made landfall and catapulted the entire narrative out the window. The storytelling aspect of Fatal Seduction was gravely affected by the screenplay, but what the makers did a good job of was putting forth characters that could not be considered black and white.
One such character must be Vuyo, the brother of Judge Leonard. From the very beginning, it is established that Vuyo and his brother have a complicated relationship, but nothing much is said about their childhood. Volume Two of Fatal Seduction, the South African Netflix Original thriller released a day ago, takes the viewers through steamy affairs, a murder investigation, and a decade-old, closed case on the verge of being opened again. Most of the protagonists have a lot to lose if the case is reopened because it was established in the first volume that the man sent to jail for the crime was falsely accused, and he committed suicide due to the shame he caused himself and his family. Jacob, his son, is back, seeking vengeance from the Mahlati family.

Fatal Seduction Vol. 2 begins with the confrontation between Vuyo and his brother Leornard. Leonard was under the impression that his wife was cheating on him with his brother. August has arrived, and with it, the last full month of summer-worthy shows and flicks, at least for 2023. From all the summer sensations to food weather, carnival fun and, of course, the lack of school, the streamer’s film slate will update with some appropriate flicks like “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2,” “Eat Pray Love,” “Despicable Me” and “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” respectively.
If you’re one of those who senses the change in the air as soon as the salty summer heat gives way to crisp fall fog, “Heartstopper” Season 2, complete with its cartoon drawings of leaves, waits for you starting August 3. “The Lincoln Lawyer: Season 2 Part 2” concludes the two-part followup to the legal drama starring Manuel Garcia-Rulfo. “Heart of Stone,” a big tentpole film starring Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan, promises action-lovers a good time.

With its list of new releases for August 2023, Netflix is giving the anime world another shot.
No, we’re not talking about the streamer’s usual anime offerings – which are present this month in the form of Ragnarok season 3 (Aug. 24) and other titles – we’re talking about Netflix’s attempt to make live-action anime adaptations a thing. Following the relative failure of its Cowboy Bebop remake, Netflix is giving it another go, this time with arguably an even bigger anime classic. One Piece will premiere on Aug. 31. Telling the story of beloved straw hat wearing pirate Monkey D. Luffy, this adaptation will attempt to do original creator Eiichiro Oda and his many fans proud.

The “Bridgerton” prequel series opened on May 4 and earned 148.28 million hours viewed on the Netflix Top 10 chart during the May 1-7 viewing window, making the show the most-viewed title during the viewing window.

Dearest gentle readers, it’s a big day for the Bridgerton-verse!
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story has officially been crowned one of Netflix’s most popular English-language TV series of all time. With 80.3M views to date, the prequel series now sits at No. 10, replacing The Watcher.
Since Netflix only releases viewership numbers for the Top 10 shows each week, it’s unclear how many views the series received during the week of July 17 to July 23 to push it over the edge. The series hasn’t appeared in the weekly Top 10 since June.
Queen Charlotte now joins both seasons of Bridgerton on the honor list (Season 1 sits at No. 4 while Season 2 is No. 8).
This was made possible after Netflix adjusted its viewership metrics in June. At the eleventh hour for Queen Charlotte, the streamer extended its measurement window from 28 days to 91 days, giving the series plenty of time to make it...

Hollywood actors and writers may be on the picket line, due to the many issues they have with various studios and networks, but they can’t really say that all streamers aren’t reporting how their shows and movies are faring. That’s exactly what Netflix has been doing each and every week with the Top 10 charts for the week of July 10, giving a detailed report on its current films and series, as “The Lincoln Lawyer” took the top spot for the latter and the sci-fi sequel “Bird Box Barcelona” entered the charts.
