WORTH WATCHING! 😁👍

There's a chance I'll be in the minority, but I liked it! 👍 If I stopped watching after one or two episodes, I'd feel differently. But a shift happens that makes for an awesome season! I won't go into detail, but I if you're like me and stick with this show until the end, you'll come to love the evolution of the contestants.

As a former producer for reality and game shows, I would be thrilled if I had a season laid out as entertaining and complete as this one. I rooted for people, couldn't stand others, and rolled my eyes more than once 🙄. And when it was over, I was completely satisfied! 😁 It's just a fun ride if you're looking for some escapism reality.

This is a very Netflix show.

This is a very "Netflix" show. Netflix simply expects viewers to keep watching this show. I enjoyed this show while occasionally skipping parts, but at the same time, it left me with the impression that Netflix's reality show quality is at this level. Watching a show with unclear rules is exciting but also unsettling, as the sense of "reality" gradually fades in an anything-goes situation. I found myself continuing to watch, feeling somewhat foolish, and it seemed like Netflix was telling me, "It may feel a bit odd, but you kept watching; this is what Netflix is all about." Well, that's fine; it served as a way to pass the time. However, from now on, I perceive Netflix Original shows as mere pastimes, not something to take seriously. Thank you, Netflix.

Lowest quality "reality" TV

When british TV producers tailor a show in a way they think is suitable for an American audience, the result is offensive to everyone. A group of airheads, most with their faces coverd in a thick layer of make-up, are flown to an exotic paradise to fight survivor-style for their place in a luxurious villa. Except, the exotic paradise is the well loved and very well civilised holiday location Lefkada in Greece. Every piece of "wilderness" on this island can be traversed by a leisurely walk of no more than an hour, and the luxury resort is an ordinary hotel with some added lights. The contestants look and behave like your average Youtube or Instagram influencer - spoiled, loud and obnoxious.

Just skip it if you're thinking of watching

As someone who has watched numerous reality competition shows, this one missed the mark in many ways. The first one that suck out was that massive lack of competitions/activities/games etc. They had some small tasks thrown in, but for the most part, the cast sat around and did nothing but talk amongst themselves.

The rules were also unclear to both the viewers and the cast all the way until the end of the show. It seemed like they tried to throw us a big twist at the end, but it was very predictable after the prior disappointment they gave us all season long.

Another thing I struggled with was the cast referring to others as "big players/heavy hitters/etc." when there was just one cast member who took part in multiple challenges. Why are we referring to others as big time players in this game when hardly anyone is actually doing anything other than sitting around a campfire or sitting in a mansion/on a boat drinking champagne?

The host felt totally lifeless as well. Maybe it's the script she was given, or the way things were edited, but she ended up adding nothing to the show.

But hey, if weak drama and gameplay that is left totally to chance in the rare instance that something actually happens, this one is for you.

Great Production Quality

I take my hat off to the camera crew, sound crew and post production team; they really gave it their all to at least give this turd the Netflix polish. Watching this series felt like a chore. This was just filler content for me, something to watch while I wait for Netflix to add something of interest. It was an interesting concept in the beginning but eaely on the wheels just come off. I couldn't really relate to any of the characters; the one or two characters I found a little bit interesting or wanted to see more of got eliminated early. Challenges were a bit boring and then just became a bit too predictable. I am really hoping that if they make a season two, they make improvements.

This is easily the worst reality show I've seen in years

I love reality tv and game shows, but this was bad.

1. There is no true "survival" aspect. The camp is right on the edge of the villa, so close they can hear their music. They are given tarps, sleeping gear, fire, etc. They easily win food within the first day, and there is truly nothing grueling other than not being able to shower. Plus, they are only there for about 10 days, according to one of the confessional segments.

2. The "paradise" aspect is weak. It's literally just living in a nice villa and chef-made meals. There were no extravagant reward trips, no chance to win extra money or prizes, no being waited on hand and foot, no fun parties other than the guests pulling out cheap wine and splashing around in a pool.

3. There is no way to play the game as the rules seem to be made up as the production team went. I love twists in a game, but you have to give the contestants a chance to understand what they are playing.

4. Every relationship in the house seemed incredibly forced. When you watch it, you will know exactly what I mean.

Overall, this was awful. Skip it.

Entertaining

I think this gets a bad rep but I found it really entertaining & gripping. What I like about it is it actually challenges the contestants compared to say something like too hot too handle which hardly seems a big challenge to the average person. I also like that the producers came up with innovative ideas and twists unlike a lot of these types of programmes, it was hard to predict how it was going to go.

The only downside was there was a horrid character on the show who I don't think should have got screen time but then again it did make it more entertaining even though I was getting frustrated at them Overall I liked that it showed the power of comfort and money and how it can affect people's morals etc.

Bad concept and boring typical contestant

What an absolute letdown of a reality TV show! The concept is as unoriginal as it gets, and the contestants are a bunch of cookie-cutter stereotypes. It's mind-boggling how anyone thought this would make for compelling television.

The show's concept is essentially a rehash of every other reality TV show you've ever seen. There's no innovation, no fresh perspective, and no creative twist to differentiate it from the rest. It's as though the producers took a checklist of reality TV clichés and just went down the list.

As for the contestants, they're all too predictable. We've seen these characters a million times before - the attention seeker, the troublemaker, the sweetheart, and so on. There's nothing that sets them apart or makes them intriguing. They're just going through the motions and trying to play up the drama for the cameras.

If you're a fan of reality TV and have seen your fair share of shows in this genre, you'll find this one to be a huge disappointment. The lack of originality in both concept and contestants makes it impossible to invest any time in this snoozefest. Save yourself the trouble and watch something with a little more substance and creativity.

High Quality Reality TV.. Worth The Watch !

I've always found it puzzling when people label reality TV series as "trash." Let's face it, reality TV isn't renowned for its groundbreaking content. However, "Surviving Paradise," a new addition on Netflix, is a delightful departure from the norm, and I couldn't help but get engrossed in it. This show delivers an array of unexpected twists, alliances formed and shattered, and an abundance of nail-biting drama, leaving you eagerly awaiting each player's next move.

It injects a breath of fresh air into the world of game shows, steering clear of the typical formula that gets recycled season after season. Rather than enduring countless iterations of the same concept, "Surviving Paradise" offers a unique perspective and a novel take on the genre.

I wholeheartedly recommend giving this show a chance. Some of the negative reviews I've come across appear to be overly critical of what essentially remains a reality TV show. Sometimes, it's best to take a step back, not scrutinize every move, and simply savor the entertainment it offers.

Garbage

It was a boring show. It is supposed to be a reality show but everyone seemed like bad actors. The reactions to "surprise" texts seemed very fake or rehearsed. I also wish there were actual challenges. This seems like a knock off/B rated version of survivor and big brother. Also wish the cast were actually sent to the woods....it almost seemed like they were in the villas "wooded" back yard because they never filmed the contestants exploring this supposed "camp". I think the show has potential. I think this would have been a better show If there were more challenges that determined if you stayed or left the villa along with the social aspect.

Bad viewing in a beautiful location

Lefkada is a beautiful island! Unfortunately, we hardly got to see it in that ill-fated TV programme. It could have been shot in a studio, with the camping part outside in the car park. Everything looked extremely cheap, from the house with the cheesy lights to the terrible acting of the contestants. I kept watching, hoping that the challenges would get more interesting. But when the camping group's challenge was to swim across the just 300 feet wide natural lake of Lefkada, a task that would take even the most inexperienced swimmer less than 3 minutes, I gave up. This show is rubbish and I wish I hadn't stuck it out for 5 episodes.

Americans at their finest

I have never watched anything more American in my life.

Casting the typical bunch of arrogant, self obsessed, stupid contestants they could find.

Not an plus size or average looking person in there, all pretty boys and girls, wearing revealing outfits with their fillers and surgeries.

Did nobody guess the twists that would occur, or how reality tv plays out. Have they not watched shows like this before?

A couple falling in "love" in 10 days. Sisqo getting aggro with someone who voted him out? What was the guy supposed to do.

Would only recommend watching this is you want to ogle over pretty people and laugh at the hilarity of the contestants!!

What a crazy ride!

What a crazy good show, I think it is one of Netflix's best originals. The twists were crazy and the drama was intense. I never knew what was going to happen next! I was definitely hooked from the start. I binged all nine episodes in one day. I would definitely recommend giving this show a watch if you enjoy any of Netflix's other original reality shows like The Circle and Too Hot To Handle. I really hope they continue with this one and make more seasons where there are even crazier twists and turns. This show honestly reminded me a lot of Survivor and I love Survivor so I think that is one of the reasons I enjoyed this show so much.

Manipulation by producers

This mish-mash mess of a bunch of shows into one show leaves a bad taste and a big headache (The Trust, Survivor, Bachelor in Paradise). For one, the host is mechanical, exhibiting minimal talent. Her outfits are in poor taste and she needs a really good hair appointment!

Two, Despite contestant strategy and good gameplay by some of the contestants there's too much left up to chance by the head-spinning manipulation of the producers! The contestants and viewers are taken advantage of each episode. You never know what is going to happen and it's not fun to watch!! You actually feel sorry for the contestants! They keep viewers coming back for the rest of the show but it continues to be disappointing. And then, the ending is an unexpected and unfair bloody "cannibalististic" massacre!!

As well, this Show is extremely filled with excessive profanity.....Filthy language and "F" bombs! Many of the contestants seem to lack knowledge of the English language and can only express themselves with pervasive cursing! Insulting to the viewers!

Don't won't waste your time on this or any continuing seasons!

American but...Actually not

I haven't watched this other than the trailer, but what I find ironic and hilarious are the comments in the reviews that say this is the most American show they've seen, and America exhibiting how atrocious it is..... What is particularly ironic to me, is that this show was actually created and produced by people in the UK. Hahaha. Had to have a good laugh at that one. Joke's on you ;) It was probably created by a handful of folks in the UK attempting to appeal to Netflix and the American market, thinking they knew how to do so, but failing miserably. I recommend a similar but likely much better show called The Mole.

Whew, This Show Was A Struggle In More Ways Than One!

There is something to like about this show! The part that I do like is the concept of having to compete for a spot in the house to win the money. I also like the different ways people are put in the villa or in camp.

However, everything else about this show is poorly done. The cast is okay! The way they emote and behave makes the show feel highly scripted, but I can see how some elements are "on the fly." Also, it just overall has a cheap feeling. I suppose most new reality shows have this symptom, so maybe they will improve with time. I am curious to see what the other seasons are like since the cast isn't supposed to know that they will be going to camp.

Reality TV Cash Grab

Netflix was scraping the bottom of the barrel with this one. You can tell they wanted to cash in on Survivor, Big Brother, and The Circle (I know this is a Netflix one, but at least it's original imo) First off, the whole cast kind of comes across like spoiled rich kids who just want more money; no regular people who needed the money to do something good with their life. There was really no skill required to win this outside of "networking". You didn't need strength, speed, or even a manipulation tactic... They didn't work with people to guarantee their spot, or play games for safety. Someone new would join, they would spend a couple hours in the villa getting to know everyone, then a few hours at camp doing the same, then they get to eliminate someone.

There are a thousand ways this could have been more entertaining, but I'm not going to post them here...if Netflix wants ideas to improve their show, they'll have to pay me for them, and there's a LOT that can be done to improve this one.
