Despite from all the technical flaws like weird editing poor direction and niglected screenplay of the movie, I just loved the movie because Amrinder Gill was in it. The songs are very beautiful and very well planned in the screenplay. The overall vibe of the movie was very light. Amrinder Gill's subtle acting is always a delight to the heart. I really wish the makers cross check the final edit to verify if everything is in place before the release. It is still a very good family watch and one can ignore the technical flaws just because Amrinder Gill is in the movie. Nothing else is required 🙏.

'Daaru na peenda hove' is a movie about an aloholic man who destroys his personal and professional life due to his excessive drinking habit (as shown in the trailer). The concept is brilliant, and gives a strong message that alcohol is not only bad for health but for relations as well. Amrinder Gill has performed this role like he has been alocholic for years, lol. That's actually a praise coz it's very tough to perform an alcoholic character. This movie shows how versatile he can be and what a gifted talent he is. He had that fun in his eyes while playing the comic parts while he was drunk, and pain in emotional scenes which was a treat to watch. He has that ability to catch the attention of the audience and I would like to see him experimenting new things like this. Amrinder Gill is the heart and soul of this movie without a thread of doubt. Zafri Khan on the other hand is bang on with his punch timings and gave life to the movie in my opinion. He is a much needed support character for adding punchy humour. No doubt he is one of the best comic artists in punjabi cinema now and deserves more chances in the future. Sohaila aka Noor was very good and poured the charm and emotions into the movie, and the other actors were also very decent. The movie kept a good balance between comedy and drama which was a delight to watch. Music was decent, lowkey did well with the BG. Overall it's a great movie to watch with family and friends and kudos to Amrinder Gill, Karaj Gill and team Rhythm Boyz for putting in the efforts to create this wonderful work. Movies like these are a step up ladder which will help elevate punjabi cinema standards in the future.

Just went to theatre for Amrinder Gill Sir, Theme or lesson they want to deliver was good, but director failed to deliver. Story line was very weak. You might fall asleep while movie. At a point you will feel like when will this movie end, but when it end, you will feel like, thats it ???

But comedy part was still good, nice punches & comedy was totally clean. A good family movie.

Topic is really important for our society, but team could have done alot better.

If it was short movie (30min) would have been much better.

Don't waste your time & money in theatre

Huge Respect for Amrinder Gill. Your content & topic is always positive but unfortunately as a movie it failed.

Film title does not go well with story background. First half is totally boring with many persons in the audience felt sleepy while others left the hall.

You watch movies to take a small escape from your life. Daaru Na Peenda Hove filmmakers decided, no, no, no! No escaping today, they need to hammer home the lesson of what happens when alcohol takes over your life! This lesson most Punjabis already know. Instead of being entertained, this movie was simply traumatizing. A couple good one liners, but not enough to save the movie, mostly just a straightforward, no surprise film that keeps its messaging on priority over it's story/script.

Very thankful the runtime on this one was about 2 hours, any longer would have been torture. Give this one a pass very low entertainment value here. 5.3/10.
