Somebody seems to have a lot of faith in director James Bamford. After years of working as a stuntman and directing episodes of mostly DC Comics-related TV shows, Hard Home is his fourth film to see release this year. The fact that the previous three, Air Force One Down, Jade, and Shadow Land left a lot to be desired is, of course, another matter.
Here he’s working from a script by Mark Shea Price, whose previous credits consist of shorts such as The Mayans Were Right and Raised by Fish. It opens with Mary jogging through the woods and attracting the attention of a Polaroid-wielding psycho when she stops to check out an old cemetery.
He shrugs off being maced, but just as he’s about to kill her,...

"You stand on the sideline too long, the game is gonna be over." Paramount Movies has revealed an official trailer for a psychological thriller titled Shadow Land, being dropped on VOD this summer. The latest from the same stuntman filmmaker behind Air Force One Down before. Haunted by relentless nightmares foretelling his untimely demise, Former President Robert Wainwright summons his past psychiatrist to his upstate residence who discovers the threat may be more real than imagined. With his trusted advisor, they embark on a mission to uncover the truth, navigating a dangerous path that could end up exposing a global crisis. This sounds like a completely crazy nonsensical script that is might be trying to comment on current events. But anyone with half a brain can see right through the Bs. Starring Jon Voight, Marton Csokas, Rhona Mitra, Philip Winchester, and Sean Maguire. It looks much more kooky than it does thrilling.

When Air Force One Down begins, Allison Miles has already made a name for herself as one of the first female Marines to qualify for special operations. That has impressed Uncle Sam, both the US government and her actual Uncle Sam, to offer her a job with the Secret Service, something she’s happy to accept.
And she’s going to get thrown in the deep end at her new job as on her first day, one of the agents on the President’s detail calls in sick. He’s one of several federal employees to suddenly come down with a bad case of lead poisoning. Sam drafts her to replace him, working with him to protect President Edwards, whom she is not a fan of, on his...

It’s hard not to think of the 80s without thinking of Anthony Michael Hall. From Sixteen Candles to The Breakfast Club to Weird Science, he was part of many all-time great and formative comedies. As he grew we saw him take on darker roles. I’ll always love him as the mean boyfriend from Edward Scissorhands and even USA’s The Dead Zone. 2021 saw him take over the role of Tommy Doyle in Halloween Kills and made three words infamous. There’s even a new project that he’s apart of with Netflix titled Trigger Warning that sounds like a female version of Roadhouse. He’s consistently stayed working for over 40 years and has been impressive while doing it. And thankfully, he’s open to discussing it all.

How many times have you seen this plot: terrorists take over a big (fill in the blank); they easily overcome the personnel there to protect it, yet one brave soul manages to kill or overcome them all and foil their plans. Fill the blank with a battleship or train and you get Under Siege 1 & 2, from when Steven Seagal was still watchable. Make it a high rise or airport? You get Die Hard 1 & 2. A hockey rink during the NHL finals? Sudden Death, with a young Jean Claude Van Damme. Commercial airliner? Wesley Snipes in Passenger 57. Air Force One? “President” Harrison Ford.
These films have two things in common: among even more similarly themed movies, these are just the titles that came to mind while I was watching. Secondly, they’re all better than this new rehash,...

"Sooner or later he will make a mistake. And it will be the last mistake he ever mistakes." Paramount has revealed an official trailer for an action thriller movie titled Air Force One Down, yes they're ripping off the "White House Down" series without an ounce of shame. On her first assignment aboard Air Force One, a rookie Secret Service agent faces the ultimate test when terrorists hijack the plane, aiming to disrupt a big energy deal. With the president's life on the line and a global crisis at stake, her bravery and her skills get pushed to the limit in a relentless battle that could change the course of history. The film stars Katherine McNamara, Ian Bohen, Anthony Michael Hall, Dascha Polanco, and Rade Serbedzija. This looks like some direct-to-the-bargain-bin action trash, not a single thing about it looks interesting or entertaining. // Continue Reading ›...

Katherine McNamara is having a rough first day at the office in Collider's exclusive premiere trailer for Air Force One Down. The Walker: Independence star is featured opposite Anthony Michael Hall (The Breakfast Club) and Ian Bohen (Teen Wolf) in Paramount’s upcoming high-octane thriller. Directed by James Bamford (Superman & Lois), the feature takes audiences miles off the ground as the President’s private aircraft has been overtaken by terrorists with just a few Secret Service agents standing in the way of a complete disaster.

Shadowhunters was a supernatural fantasy show based on Cassandra Clare's book series. It followed Clary Fray as she entered the world of Shadowhunters on her 18th birthday. The series received mixed responses from critics but won several awards, including Teen Choice and People's Choice Awards. The cast members have found success in various projects after the show's end, with Katherine McNamara appearing in Walker and The Stand, and Dominic Sherwood starring in Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.
The supernatural drama Shadowhunters said its final goodbye in 2019, but the cast has been busy since the series ended. The supernatural fantasy show first aired in 2016 and ran for three seasons on Freeform. Shadowhunters follows Clary Fray as she finds out on her 18th birthday that her family came from a long line of human-angel hybrids called Shadowhunters and that their job was to hunt demons. Veteran executive Dan Cohen will be on the ground in Toronto this year in a new position, as the head of the recently revived Paramount studio label Republic Pictures. Republic, which was shuttered in 1967 after releasing films from John Wayne and Orson Welles, has been brought back as an acquisitions play already picking up action thriller Air Force One Down.
Ahead of heading to Canada, Cohen told THR about a run-in with native son Drake, his least favorite elevator bank in the city, and his go-to Tim Horton’s order.
My “only in Toronto” moment is…
Clearing U.S. Customs in Toronto before boarding the plane for home and running into Drake randomly about town.
My “Canadians are so nice” moment is…
Seeing how enthusiastic and helpful the volunteers are for every screening. I also now say “no worries” about 100 times per day!

In her first proper interview since Walker Independence was cancelled (nearly a month ago), series lead Katherine McNamara notes, unsurprisingly, “It’s not the news we wanted to hear.”
McNamara had appeared on multiple podcasts that were released after the cancellation news broke, but they had all been taped prior. But as a guest on The Wayne Ayers Podcast (the full episode drops this Wednesday), she was able to actually post mortem it all, saying that “one of the showrunners and one of the producers called me” with the news, “and obviously it’s not the call we wanted to get.
