I'll start off by saying, it is good to see movies that are not hypersexual and do have a touch of moral character. Finding Boaz is one such movie. However, it is also the type of movie that is not of good enough quality to be watched. It was bloated with amateur actors that dont bring any entertainment or interest in the film, especially the lead actress. The lead's "partner in crime" for this amateur concoction, Cocoa Brown, was the only highlight. Nothing else was reasonably entertaining, funny, or of depth.
I was kind of surprised at the quality of movie, even with the immediately noticed sheen of a low budget. I can appreciate a grassroots production, but this was not it. It comes off as a princess vanity project long contemplated by a young woman whose whole focus in life was finding a significant other. That was even further understood once I noticed the credits showed the lead, director, producer, (and probably some other titles ) were all the same person. And at the end of the day, Who is..Why is...How come... this is a Boaz referenced film? No connection to Boaz seemed apparent, and the most you are left with are clothing changes and MORE THAN ONE reference to a book being marketed.
I feel annoyed when films seem to be put together, not for audience entertainment or knowledge, but as marketing presentations. Thats how this felt, unfortunately. Cudos for effort, but some films really could just be a stage play at a church or community theater space.
