Ranking of Kings: The Treasure Chest Of Courage (Spring 2023)
This is a side story of the incredible anime named "Ranking Of Kings". I actually like almost all the characters in Ranking of Kings. So I was looking forward to seeing some more moments among them. And some stories are definitely very wholesome to see. But some of them didn't do anything for these characters. And some of them had a changed artstyle (3D sort of animation) that I personally wasn't a fan of.
I would've liked them to use this opportunity to explore Miranjo's bond with both Daida and the Demon because that was the only aspect of Ranking of Kings which was very rushed towards the end.
But these side stories were very wholesome, because all these characters were very well established in the original.
That being said, all this side story did was make me admire the original Ranking of Kings show more. Because honestly, even without adapting these chapters in between, they were able to tell the entire story in 24 episodes without leaving any gaps in between. That was honestly amazing work from Wit Studio.

In the end, every character is redeemable and has a happy ending, making any previous behaviour/action inconsequential. I normally love a happy ending, but it felt like tragedy and sadness can only exist in the past for the characters, so there was no tension or build up for the climax. I loved the first season, but the second did not wrap up the story in a way which felt reasonable.
By the end, the number of characters crying started to be a bit much. It used to have more impact in the first season because it happened sparingly. The second season doesn't ruin the story, but it is not of the same calibre.
