Jai Mahendran - Season 1
A political satire drama conveyed with light sarcasm and humour on the backdrop of a taluk office.
The plot of the story revolves around the daily affairs in and around the Taluk Office & about Mahendran,a crooked Deputy Tahsildar with political interests on how he uses his status for his advantage & how he manages to come out from a complex situation in his workplace.
Rahul Riji Nair has conceived the idea of the web series and has conveyed the story through a flawless and engaging script. The ambience and tone set for the Government Office was absolutely stunning and the filmmakers has excelled in giving the viewers an actual feel of going to a government local body office.
Srikanth Mohan has brilliantly executed the story with a spectacular cast and managed to impress undoubtedly in his debut directorial. Remarkable performance by Saiju Kurup as Mahendran with his subtle character portrayal and light humour moments in the series. Zhinz Shan,Suhasini,Rahul Riji Nair,Miya,Vishnu Govindan,Anand Manmadhan & Sidharth Siva has made impressive performances in the webseries. All the other casts especially in the office space has also made notable performances in the movie.
Kudos to Christy Sebastian for giving a complete entertainer with the crisp and fine cuts,Prathap Raveendran & Satheesh Nellaya for the brilliant set work and their effort in creating a nostalgic experience of a government office is really appreciable. Sidhartha Pradeep's BGM's,Vishnu's sound mixing and VFX/colour grading team gave more life to the movie as a whole.
A good story backed with flawless script keeps the audience completely hooked and entertained and anxiously keeps you wait for the next season.
Rating - 3.75/5.

Tjis is a review from an ordinary viewer who doesn't know much about movies, but I've watched many webseries from other languages.
I loved the series. It is a light hearted and fun to watch webseries. The characters and incidents will for sure be relatable for most people of Kerala .
The series is good and entertaining to watch together as family too.
I binge watched it and it felt like watching a good movie of less than 3 hours.
Saiju kurup has done justice to the character Mahendran, it is definitely different from all the characters he has ever acted. This story and it's characters has the possibility to be developed further into making a 2nd season.

"Jai Mahendran" marks a brilliant directorial debut, showcasing the immense talent and vision of the director. From the very first episode, it's clear that this series is crafted with great attention to detail, delivering a perfect balance of storytelling, visuals, and character development. The director's ability to weave together an engaging narrative, while keeping the audience hooked with suspense and emotional depth, is truly commendable.
The actors in the series have brought their characters to life with remarkable authenticity and flair. Each performance feels organic, and the chemistry between the cast members elevates the show to a new level. The way the director has handled the cast, allowing them to shine while maintaining the coherence of the plot, is one of the highlights of this series.
The cinematography, editing, and pacing are top-notch, making it not only visually appealing but also emotionally resonant. The director has a unique style, blending subtlety with intensity, which makes "Jai Mahendran" a refreshing addition to the digital space.

*** Jai Mahendran Malayalam Web Series Review
Directed by Srikanth Mohan starring Saiju Kurup & Suhasini Mani Ratnam in the lead role. Also starring Miya George, Rahul Riji Nair, Suresh Krishna.
Analysis of the Web Series:
Story surrounds about the life of the government employees in Taluk Office & Mahendran played by the protagonist is the Deputy Tahasildar who is smart but at the same time wanted by everyone.
The story goes normal narration of the activities of these employees whereby we could able to get into their world & understand them but by the mid of Episode 3, it takes a shift & we could see many turning points which makes the story interesting to watch.
Coming at the performance, Saiju Kurup had delivered a laudable performance. Mahendran's character peculiarity is the smile & that smile indicates a lot, the character's smart decision at the tough time, these he had very enacted. I could link his characterization with Biju Menon character "Mamchan" in Vellimoonga.
Another notable performance was of Suhasini Mani Ratnam. Miya George playing as Mahendran's wife, in a limited screen space, a decent performance.
Political satirical have been viewed a lot but still by a good star cast , " Jai Mahendran" is watchable flick.
