Here’s What Went Behind The Naming Of Harry Potter’s Most Annoying Character (Photo Credit – Instagram/Facebook)
Long before Harry Potter became a billion-dollar juggernaut, J.K. Rowling was just another writer wandering around Edinburgh, trying to finish a story about a boy wizard. The tale we know today actually started on a delayed train ride from Manchester to London. That’s where the seed for Harry Potter first popped into her head.
Fast forward a few years, and Rowling was knee-deep in plot lines. She had spent five years laying out the entire series. Yes, five years of brainstorming before a single book hit the shelves. She wrote much of her first draft sitting in local cafés around Edinburgh, typing away while sipping coffee.
But it wasn’t just the caffeine that helped. Edinburgh itself was a quiet co-writer. In an old interview, J.K. Rowling mentioned how the city slipped into her books.

It’s been a while since we got such a gripping season 2 to an 8-episode K-drama. When Weak Hero Class 1 came out, it became the talk of the town thanks to how it mixed school violence themes with powerful action sequences that were well shot and felt like they came directly from the pages of the Webtoon it was based on. Okay, to be fair, I haven’t read the Webtoon myself, but based on the reactions, I can imagine it does a pretty good job at delivering what readers expected and possibly more. Weak Hero Class 2 takes everything one step further (possibly deviating from the original script) to give us the same thing at a much bigger scale. In terms of individual storyline, I don’t think there’s been a drastic change in what’s happening with the protagonist, Si-Eun, in 3 years; he’s still going through...

Several of the most well-known K-dramas fall in the romance or thriller genre, but there are a handful of series centered around friendships that are just as deserving of praise. Friendship is a universally understood concept and can be depicted in an endless amount of stories from the collaborative sports team in Racket Boys to the tight-knit neighborhood in Reply 1988. The best friendship K-dramas focus on a variety of relationships, including childhood duos and a group of roommates. More often than not, the platonic relationships seen in such K-dramas are lighthearted.
However, these series are not without a handful of heartfelt moments sure to tug at the audience's heartstrings. Though there are a few series that follow friends at older stages of life, those following adolescent characters chronicle the accomplishments and hardships in life. Time travel in K-dramas elevates romantic, detective, and historical stories with sci-fi or fantasy twists. While some K-dramas overuse time travel, the best ones cleverly use the trope to tell captivating and unique stories. Shows like "A Time Called You" and "Twinkling Watermelon" explore time travel to unravel mysteries and change fates in heartwarming ways.
The idea of traveling through time is a powerful storytelling tool popularized by Hollywood movies, anime series, and the best time travel K-dramas. For K-dramas, the past often involves the Joseon era, riddled with political distress, turmoil, and drama. In some cases, K-dramas get creative and use time travel to solve crimes, like a heinous murder from the past, or with clues unraveling through time. In others, time travel is the narrative catalyst for an epic romance story of lovers separated by centuries.

Every time I’m asked to write about a reality show, I wonder what sin I committed in my last life. I’m only joking; it’s just that reality shows just don’t tickle my fancy. Now, when I heard about The Influencer, it certainly piqued my interest, but to what extent? I don’t know about you, but Korean reality shows just don’t work for me. I don’t want to generalize, but they’re tinted with misogyny and hatred for fellow contestants and just seem rather bleak for my liking. I don’t know what I was expecting with The Influencer, but this was certainly not it. This is what Netflix calls a “social survival game,” and in a sense, you might’ve realized by the name of the show. The last survival show on Netflix I watched was Physical 100, and I’ve got to admit...

Lovely Runner may be over, but K-dramas like A Time Called You offer a fresh take on time travel and romance. Similar to Lovely Runner, Marry My Husband balances dark themes with light comedy for an engaging watch. Twinkling Watermelon, like Lovely Runner, delves into youth, music, and relationships in a captivating way.
Lovely Runner may have come to an end, but there are many K-dramas that are just as good. During Lovely Runners release, it became Queen of Tears perfect replacement as its sincere tale defied a seemingly shallow concept and hooked fans with its nostalgic atmosphere and the chemistry of leading actors Kim Hye-yoon and Byeon Woo-seok. Though Lovely Runner almost didn't happen, its delayed production thankfully paid off with resounding success.

You can put your fears to rest because Twinkling Watermelon has concluded perfectly. As K-drama viewers, we’re always afraid that our favorite shows (when ongoing) is going to end terribly (and a lot of them do). But Twinkling Watermelon has fortunately not followed the pattern and managed to be a fantastic slice-of-life drama, even with all its emotional parts. Episode 15 ended with Yi-Chan saving Eun-Gyeol from being hit by a car. Fortunately, the show doesn’t push the idea that Yi-Chan would only end up happy if the accident didn’t happen.

Given the circumstances, we’d be expecting the 2023 duo to return home by episode 15 so that they can be home with their families by the end of the series, but they’ve still got a lot of things to do in 1995. ‘Twinkling Watermelon’ Episode 13 Recap & Ending Explained: Do Chung-Ah And Yi-Chan End Up Together?
In last week’s episodes of Twinkling Watermelon, things got a little bit messed up with Yi-Chan and Chung-Ah falling out because of a misunderstanding. Chung-Ah chose to leave Yi-Chan alone because she thought Se-Kyung was going to choose him and his mutual feelings for her would be reciprocated. But Se-Kyung, i.e., Eun-Yoo, finally realized that the first love her mother used to speak about was always her father, not Yi-Chan or Eun-Gyeol. This realization makes her want to go back home and find out for real, but she has no way of doing so. Finally, Eun-Gyeol finds her at the airport and asks her to spend some time with him until he can figure out a way for her to return.

Episode 11 of Twinkling Watermelon has to be one of the most emotional episodes of the show. It’s finally the day Eun-Gyeol can change his father’s future, but how will he do it? Additionally, even though it’s a slice-of-life show that is more entertaining than anything else, it still has some prominent life lessons and realistic messages beautifully presented in the storytelling. So, the question remains: if Eun-Gyeol does change his father’s future (and past), what is the show trying to imply by fixing his hearing? Maybe we shouldn’t be going so deep into this, but in reality, there’ll be different consequences for Eun-Gyeol’s actions that are just as bad. Despite this one setback, the show is still one of the top contenders for the list of the best of the year for many. With that, let’s quickly get into Twinkling Watermelon Episode...

Although Twinkling Watermelon is only on episode 10, we’re already thinking about the big hole it’s going to leave in our hearts when it is over. The thoughtful series is, on the surface, a seemingly happy slice-of-life show about a son who travels back in time to save his father from an accident, but at its core, it tells viewers to live life to the fullest. Viva La Vida—yes, Coldplay did it first, but we’ll give the writers of Twinkling Watermelon credit where it is due. The show’s emotional message becomes more profound as the series progresses, and we’re very curious to see how things will shape up in the end. At the same time, there’s a fear that things might get messed up later on, as is common in the K-drama world.

Have we found the most wholesome slice-of-life show of 2023? Maybe. Twinkling Watermelon hasn’t disappointed just yet, and we’re even more excited to see where the show takes us in the future. The adorable show follows a Coda who happens to time travel to 1995, the year his parents met. We’re not quite sure why he’s been sent there just yet, but it may be to learn about his father’s accident that caused him to go deaf or to save him from said accident. In the previous episode, Eun-Gyeol met with his own accident when he got electrocuted by a microphone due to heavy rains. On the way to the hospital, he wished to be back home with his parents, and he did wake up in the future. Or so he thinks.

Twinkling Watermelon is one of those shows that gets more exciting with each episode. While some things seem a little bit strange at this point, we’re sure we’re going to get answers soon enough. After all, it is a show that involves time travel, so there are going to be some strange occurrences. The show thrives on cute moments between father and son, and sometimes, it gets funny enough for real laugh-out-loud moments. This is definitely a show to watch with family that’s wholesome and meaningful. At the end of Twinkling Watermelon episode 4, we see Yi Chan walk onto the street to save a balloon for a little kid who could’ve been hurt. Eun-Gyeol, in turn, saved his father from what he thought was a dangerous situation. He then checked if his father had the scar on his shoulder that he used to ask about as a child.

Twinkling Watermelon will make you laugh out loud and cry within a span of minutes. At the risk of speaking too soon, we highly recommend this show. If you have a gaping hole for feel-good, slice-of-life family dramas, then put everything down and watch this show. It’s a shame we don’t get to see all the episodes at once, and even with an adorable premise (and cast), the show, in the usual K-drama style, has a lot of secrets that will probably be revealed very slowly, and we’ll have to painstakingly wait another six weeks for the show to be completed. Hyun-Wook, who is really getting acknowledged for his fantastic work, is already becoming a big star, playing roles in shows like “D.P.” and now with a lead role such as this one. He shines in comedy, and together with Ryeoun, they make a terrific duo. At the same time,...

Okay, yes, only two episodes have aired, but with such a classic concept, there’s no way this show isn’t going to be one of our favorites of the year. Also boasting an impeccable cast of younglings who are garnering more popularity by the day, everyone’s going to have their eyes on this drama. Twinkling Watermelon follows Eun-Gyeol, a Coda, who finds a love for music when he’s desperately looking for help.
