OMG! So funny my family has quoted this play for years!

Charles Grodin will always be to me the BEST Charley's Aunt. His timing and facial expressions are PERFECT and you laugh all the way through the play! Our family watched it until the tape (this was back in VCR days) disappeared. We've all tried to look for THIS version and have never been able to find it again!!! If you can find it, please share! If you ever have a chance to see it, DO!!! All the acting is great and you can tell everyone is having a good time. WE sure did and want the next generation to see it. Grodin is by far better than Benny in this role. Loved it!

In his 1989 autobiography "It Would Be So Nice If You Weren't Here...", Charles Grodin recounts how he had performed the part of the middle-aged Sir Francis Chesney while he was still a college student at the Playhouse, and in this cable television he was playing the part of the college student Fancourt Babberly when he was himself closer to middle-age.
