Absolute waste of time and money

I watched this movie with my family. Don't trust the positive reviews. This movie is utter garbage. According to me, neither did it deliver on the story nor on the comedy. The story literally feels like a 10 year old kid wrote it. I can't blame the actors though. When you have such a pointless story, it's difficult for the actors to salvage the movie even if they are good. They tried really hard on the comedy front but the comedy just wasn't good. The horror element will scare you in one or two scenes but nothing noteworthy. The effects were decent though in some scenes. Overall it's a pointless movie that should not have seen the light of day in its current state. Ofcourse if you want to throw your money and time at it, go for it.

Spiritless Comedy

The Bhootnii is a prime example of a great idea gone terribly wrong. What could have been an entertaining horror-comedy is instead a tedious, unfunny slog that fails to land its punches.

Not every HorCom can be a Stree, but at least watchable? If you can survive the first 15-20 min, then there might be some hope you will finish this! It has it's moments, but no one watches a 2 hr movie for the 5 scenes that worked well?

The film's most glaring flaw lies in its execution. The dialogue is clunky, the pacing is a mess, and the comedic timing is non-existent. The cast tries their best to make the material work, but they are fighting a losing battle against a script that gives them nothing to work with.

This is especially true for Sanjay Dutt, whose comedic potential is completely wasted here. A veteran of beloved comedy roles, he is criminally underused and let down by the poor writing, leaving a talented performer with little more than a forgettable caricature.

The central concept had potential, but it was utterly squandered by a lifeless script and direction that felt more amateurish than inspired.

Ultimately, the movie is a cinematic misfire. It's a comedy that isn't funny, and a ghost story that lacks any genuine scares. The Bhootnii is a frustrating watch that leaves you feeling disappointed by what could have been.

Not worth your precious time!

...do I really have to write a review for this? I don't know, and I don't want to write either, but for those who are still thinking about whether they should watch this or not. For those, I'm writing this review. I will tell you why you should watch this film and why you shouldn't.

Pros:

the 1-2 stars I want to give This is only for Sanjay Dutt, Mouni Roy, and Palak Tiwari's acting.

Cons:

Wasted budget Wasted potential All the stories just turned into virgin tree-like ones. Can't you find a better story? Like, why the heck did you add the story for the virgin tree and Valentine's Day? Like, can't writers write serious stories? Everything was great, but the take and names they took and the character they took were like a YouTuber as an actor who was doing like, Bruh, why are you even here?.

The main character, the hero, was so dumb, and, ugh, I don't even want to talk.

Conclusion:

If you want to be part of the few people who know what movies are good or bad and want to be a critic and all, just see this and be up-to-date that this rubbish also exists in cinema; I won't even call it cinema.

Other than that, it's not worth your precious time; just skip this. Even short movies or some fake AI stories are just better than this.

Disappointing Experience

When the movie started, I genuinely thought it might be at least a little horror-based or have some suspense. The buildup made it seem like there was something spooky coming, but after a while, nothing was making sense. Monjolika randomly appears, there are strange fight scenes, and out of nowhere, Sanjay Dutt shows up fighting ghosts with a gun. I mean-really? A gun for ghosts?

The plot was all over the place. There was no proper storyline, no real character development, and the scenes didn't connect well. It felt like the makers just threw in random elements-some horror, some action, some comedy-hoping something would stick. But it didn't.

People in the theatre were either laughing or completely confused. If you're watching just for timepass and don't care about logic or plot, maybe you'll enjoy a few moments. But for someone who expects even basic storytelling, this movie will be a big letdown. Honestly, it felt like a waste of both time and money. Bollywood really needs to focus more on good scripts instead of just star power and effects.

Worst movie of the decade

The movie has only one dialogue SACHI MOHABBAT SACHI MOHABBAT. Waste of time and money, entire cast did there worst acting. I don't understand why the production don't watch the movie before release so they should have an idea what they have made.

Even the backstory of the ghost was basely just like the movie.

Even the direction was like scene were not related at all.

I don't think it to be a horror comedy but it should be baseless comedy where in the entire movie there are hardly 1 or 2 scene where you will laugh or else it is a comedy movie where you won't laugh watching it or might sleep before the film end.

This is the worst movie ever

Guys this movie is the worst in the history of Indian cinema. There is nothing to talk about. The whole movie is garbage. Please save yourself and do not fall for the positive reviews. They are obviously paid. Please save your money and your brains. Please please stay away from this garbage. I could not save myself, after watching this movie my brain died. I don't usually review anything, but after seeing 6 point rating I had to write this. This movie deserves zero stars. Bhoothni is neither scary nor funny. It is just pure cringe. It is super cringy, weird and stupid. Whether If you're a baba fan or not you're gonna hate this garbage.

Waste of money and time

I watched this movie recently, and to be honest, it was a big disappointment. The story was just okay-not great, but not the worst either. However, everything else in the movie was really bad. The direction felt weak, and it seemed like the director didn't know what they were trying to show. The scenes didn't flow well, and the editing made it even worse. It looked like everything was rushed or done without much care.

The songs were the most annoying part for me. They were loud, unnecessary, and didn't match the mood of the movie at all. I tried to stay patient, but after the interval, I just couldn't take it anymore. I left the theater in the middle of the movie. That's how bad it was. The acting was also poor. Most of the actors looked like they weren't interested in their roles. The only one who did a decent job was Baba-he was the only one who looked serious about acting.

Overall, this movie was a waste of time and money. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Even if someone offers you a free ticket, don't bother watching it. If you have even a little bit of common sense or taste, you'll skip it. It was honestly one of the worst movie experiences I've ever had.

The Bhootnii Review: A Messy Horror-Comedy

*The Bhootnii Review: A Messy Horror-Comedy*

I walked into "The Bhootnii" expecting a decent horror-comedy, but what I got was a predictable, clichéd mess. The story revolves around a haunted "Virgin Tree" in a college campus, where a ghost named Mohabbat (Mouni Roy) awakens every Valentine's Day in search of true love. However, the execution falls flat due to poor VFX, lackluster performances, and a convoluted narrative.

*Negative Points:*

  • *Subpar Acting*: The cast, including Sunny Singh and Palak Tiwari, fails to impress, with most characters feeling exaggerated and outdated. Sanjay Dutt, as the ghostbuster Baba, is the only one who manages to bring some semblance of humor and charisma to the film.

  • *Worst VFX*: The special effects are gimmicky and unimpressive, doing more harm than good to the film's overall impact.

  • *Worst Story*: The narrative is riddled with inconsistencies and predictable twists, making it hard to take the film seriously. The story tries to blend horror and comedy but ends up being neither scary nor funny enough.

  • *Lack of Originality*: The film's plot is uninspired and borrows heavily from better horror-comedies like "Stree" and "Bhool Bhulaiyaa". Even a Chhota Bheem episode would be more engaging than this.

*Verdict:*

"The Bhootnii" is a disappointing horror-comedy that fails to deliver on its promise. With poor acting, subpar VFX, and a predictable story, it's hard to recommend this film to anyone. Even fans of Sanjay Dutt might find themselves yawning at the lackluster performance. Overall, it's a skippable film that doesn't add much value to the genre ¹ ².

Bhootni Isn't That Scary - And That's a Good Thing for Family Time!

My Honest Review on the Movie "Bhootni":

These days, it's hard to find a movie that you can comfortably watch with your family. Most films are filled with vulgarity, offensive language, or intense violence that makes it awkward to sit through with kids or parents.

However, "Bhootni" is a refreshing change. It avoids all that unnecessary vulgar content and over-the-top bloody action scenes. While there are a few double-meaning dialogues here and there, they are not too offensive and can be overlooked.

The storyline revolves around a familiar theme - love and betrayal - which is quite common in Indian cinema. But let's be honest, most of our movies follow similar plots with just a different presentation. Still, this one keeps you entertained.

If you're planning to watch something on OTT with your kids, this is a decent one-time watch. Children who enjoy horror won't find this too scary - it's spooky but in a fun, manageable way.

Overall, "Bhootni" is a clean, family-friendly horror-comedy that can be enjoyed once, especially if you're looking for something light and not too intense.

It's Good but not that much good.

Bhootni is a movie that attempts to blend comedy and horror, but the execution falls short, especially for viewers who prefer logical and realistic storytelling. The film features a variety of props, such as swords, knuckles, and other weapons, which are intended to enhance the supernatural and action-packed elements of the story. However, the props come across as entirely fake, detracting from the movie's overall appeal. For instance, the knuckles used in the film are adorned with LED lights, which are poorly concealed with white strips, making them appear cheap and unconvincing. This lack of attention to detail can be jarring for audiences who expect a more polished and believable presentation.

Overall, "Bhootni" struggles to deliver a cohesive and engaging narrative, relying heavily on gimmicks and subpar special effects. While the movie might offer a few laughs and moments of entertainment, it ultimately feels amateurish and fails to captivate viewers who appreciate logical plot development and high-quality production values. On a scale of 10, "Bhootni" might generously earn a 5, making it a passable but not particularly memorable cinematic experience. If you're someone who values realism and logical storytelling, this movie might not be the best choice for you.

Super entertaining

The Bhootani is a delightful blend of comedy, light horror, and heartfelt moments that makes it a complete family entertainer. The film keeps the audience engaged with its fun storyline, quirky characters, and a spooky twist that's more amusing than scary.

The performances are impressive, especially by the lead actors, who bring charm and energy to their roles. The direction balances humor and emotion well, ensuring there's something for everyone - from kids to elders. The background score and visuals add to the overall experience without being overwhelming.

If you're looking for a fun weekend watch with your family, The Bhootani is a perfect choice. It delivers laughs, light thrills, and a warm message - all wrapped into one enjoyable package.

A good one time entertainer!

Honestly, I had zero expectations from fil. Before starting because B-wood hasn't prooven itself in horror genre recently. The only reason I gave this a try was because it's Horror-Com movie & it lived upto its genre. Movie has it flaws like cringe dailogue, bad VFX, a bit of boring in middle somewhere, zero haunted scenes to give chills. But over all, I personally had a good experience with this unique casting & actors did justice to their role and comic timings. Movie had okayishh horror with good humour and only a pinch of emotion & romance which was in right amount what was needed to keep us hookedup. Storyline seemed a bit weak in mid but climax caught me by surprise. I would recommend to give it a try atleast as a good entertainer.

A good script, a good cast and a good horror com

Sanju baby's character was so funny and macho, His fabulous comic avatar, always a delight to watch for.

It had comedy but no horror. The story was just good, could have been better. The CGi was not that convincing putting horror off every possessed cast. But a routine young adult comedy with a mismatch of casting swindled the story to poor conviction. This Bhootni had it's fun but no scare to offer. Sometimes it was like the camera wore a wig upon itself to give the feel of the bhootni. Good attempt anyways. Could have been more better.

Energetic. Comic. Fun. But not eerie, scary or paranormal.

Watch it for baba and nick

Bhootnii is a clever, genre-blending film that mixes horror, comedy, and emotion into an unexpectedly satisfying package. Unlike the typical ghost story, Bhootnii offers a fresh take, focusing less on jump scares and more on storytelling, character development, and dark humor.

The film kicks off in a sleepy town where strange happenings take a sharp turn into the bizarre - and hilarious - when a ghost starts haunting not just houses, but ideas of justice and closure. The narrative unfolds with a strong emotional core, exploring themes of regret, redemption, and the fine line between the living and the dead.

What makes Bhootnii stand out is its balance. It doesn't rely solely on spooky tropes or slapstick. Instead, it crafts eerie sequences with well-timed wit, delivering laughs and chills often within the same scene. The cinematography and sound design work in tandem to build an immersive atmosphere, while the performances feel genuine and grounded.

There are moments where the film slows down or indulges in unnecessary exposition, but these are minor bumps in an otherwise gripping ride. The climax ties things up with both surprise and sentiment - a rare and welcome combination in horror comedies.

In short, Bhootnii is entertaining, heartfelt, and surprisingly thoughtful. Whether you're in it for the scares or the satire, it delivers on both fronts.

Mouni x Super Natural Character 💯

Overall Bhootni is a fun and entertaining film. It has a good mix of comedy, romance and spooky moments. Aasif Khan stands out with his perfect comic timing. Some of his dialogues are very funny. Mouni Roy is the next highlight. She looks great on screen and acts well too. Her presence adds charm to the film (when she's a human😉).

Second half of the film is better, the jokes land better and the story moves faster. There are many scenes that will make you laugh out loud. The film doesn't try to be too serious.

Overall, it's a film you can enjoy with friends or family. You'll walk out of the cinema with a smile on your face. It's not a masterpiece, but it doesn't need to be. It delivers what it promises-entertainment.

Great blend of Fun and horror

I enjoyed the movie and all the fun it brings. It is scary too but good kind of scary for someone who is looking for a lite hearted movie. The story line is unique compared to all the latest movies. Palak Tiwari is a great performer. He acting was flawless and very impressive. For a newcomer, she is Amazing. Sunny, Sanjay Dutt, and the entire cast did a great job in entertaining. Mouni is amazing.

Overall it's worth watching and the jokes are very funny. The writers and dialogues are great. The jokes will make you laugh even after the movie is done. Mouni nailed it and what a performer. Palak brings freshness and amazing delivery. Every actor did their best. Worth the time and money if you are looking for some fun and happy movie.

Good Movie Must Watch

Plot Overview: Set in Delhi's fictional St. Vincent College, the story revolves around Shantanu (Sunny Singh), a heartbroken student who, during a ritual at the college's 'Virgin Tree,' inadvertently summons a spirit named Mohabbat (Mouni Roy). As Mohabbat becomes obsessed with him, a ghostbuster named Baba (Sanjay Dutt) is called in to handle the situation.

Wikipedia +4 Koimoi +4 The Indian Express +4

Performances: Sanjay Dutt portrays Baba, a ghostbuster with a quirky demeanor, delivering a performance reminiscent of his earlier roles. Mouni Roy as Mohabbat brings a mix of allure and menace, though her character lacks depth. Sunny Singh plays the bewildered student convincingly, while supporting actors like Aasif Khan and Nikunj Lotia provide occasional comic relief.

News24 +2 The Times of India +2 Wikipedia +2

Direction and Writing: Directed by Sidhaant Sachdev, the film struggles with inconsistent storytelling and underdeveloped characters. The screenplay attempts to incorporate humor and horror but often relies on clichés and predictable twists, making the narrative feel disjointed.

Wikipedia +4 News24 +4 Koimoi +4

Technical Aspects: The production design and visual effects are modest, with some scenes appearing underwhelming. The music and background score fail to leave a lasting impression, and the editing could have been tighter to maintain a cohesive pace.

Overall Impression: While "The Bhootnii" has moments that elicit chuckles, it largely fails to deliver on both horror and comedy fronts. The film's reliance on familiar tropes and lack of innovative storytelling make it a forgettable addition to the genre.

It's not a high brainer movie. Bus entertainment. Ek dum bachho wali comedy and I laughed my heart out. Pet meh dard he hone laga bhai. Puri movie nae toh bhe some comic scenes make up for the whole movie.. ab tum log intellectual serious movie dekhna chaahte ho toh it's not for u. Baki it's awesome.

Meh toh meri mammi ko dikha dikha ke hasri thi bhai seriously.

Jo movies meh refrences hai na ek dum fokkat wale vahe bade comic hai.. that is if you don't watch it with seriousness. M

Bakiyo ka pata nae merko toh bada he maza aya.

I can watch it again seriously. Vo teen laadko ka comedy he jyada mast tha.
