The story is there, An argentine with a fantastic curriculum, a nice family with many connections in Argentina and on top of it she is very good looking. The production is there, quality actors, great setting and filmmaking but the writing is just awful its naive and child like jokes, the dialogues are very dumb. It has a certain charm to it all. If only for the players But nothing clicks a real compelling interest in their lives. Let's hope it gets more entertaining but maybe their story is just that boring. It has very little thrill. It's politics are very safe, it truly is a fairytale for the ordinary.
As an Argentine, I was naturally curious about this story. I recently finished watching the final episode, although I wasn't particularly eager to do so. While the narrative seemed accurate, it struggled to deliver a compelling tale, and the timeline felt disorganized. Some actors delivered outstanding performances, such as Mr. Zorreguieta. However, I found the casting of Maxima to be a misstep. Delfina Chaves portrayed her more like a perpetually out of place, hungover party girl, not particularly a classy, responsible financier like Maxima herself . The prince's performance was acceptable, albeit somewhat bland, and their on screen chemistry felt forced. The cinematography was impressive, locations were not real. The quality of the episodes varied significantly , some were engaging, while others were quite dull. Although a second season is planned, I suspect I'll forget about this series within a week.
Firstly, I am really proud to see so many argentinian actors taking part of this. As an argentine, I wanted to know a bit more about her backgrounds, how she grew up and how she got to know Alex.
I feel like during the show the portrayal of Maxima wasnt as exact as I expected it. She was more of a party animal and not as responsible as Maxima was. So that was a bit of a let down for me. The prince was pretty okay, so nothing else to add about it.
I really loved the locations. Some episode were fun to watch, and some a bit dull. So if there is a slight chance of a second season they need to fix that in order to make it more enjoyable and being a bit more loyal to the real story behind it.

Since the passing of QE2 and the abdication of Margarethe .. THE QUEEN IS NOW MAXIMA OF THE NETHERLANDS! Beautiful series , can certainly be compared with the CROWN more realistic and in 5 locations worldwide filmed ! Season 2 is coming. With the new Argentinian star Delphine Chavez who plays Maxima and Sebastian Koch who plays Prince Claus ! It's a serie about royals protocol governments politics and real love, finally we see that children are made in a bedroom and not being brought by the stork! At first it's a bit weird like seeing your parents kiss, but hey the King and queen are humans to ! This serie is before they became king and Queen its Maxima her origin story.
Just watched the first two epiodes and I am impressed with the cinematography and acting. The palpable love story really translates well on screen, mainly due to the chemistry between the two lead actors. Sebastian Koch also stands out to me, he's charming without drawing a caricature of the late Prince Claus.
One thing that does bug me is how we see Máxima horse riding in the Pampas and getting shooting lessons from her dad back in 1976. The real Máxima was only five years old at the time so I doubt these were her regular weekend activitites at that age. I also think she was much more shielded from politics in 1978, when she was only seven. The idea of the dual timeline (childhood vis a vis late twenties) is interesting but its sloppy excecution is distracting from the storytelling.

- TriviaThe palace used in the first and fifth episode, looks like "Huis ten Bosch" where the royals lived in that era. The building is actually "Slot Zeist" that building used to house members of the dynasty Nassau as well. The building today is an event location for rent.
