Black Creek" is an adrenaline-charged throwback to the golden age of action films-only better, sharper, and more relentless. Cynthia Rothrock and Richard Norton reunite in peak form, and their on-screen chemistry is as fierce as their fists.
From the very first scene, the action choreography sets a blistering pace. Rothrock delivers high-speed kicks with the precision of a sniper, and Norton's raw power brings real gravity to every punch. Their fight sequences are more than just combat-they're cinematic poetry in motion.
What elevates Black Creek beyond standard action fare is the spectacular special effects. Explosive set pieces are executed with style and authenticity. The blend of practical effects and flawless CGI brings gritty realism to every shootout and brawl without ever overwhelming the performances.
The story is grounded but gripping-a rogue militia, a secret past, and justice that must be taken with bare hands. Rothrock brings emotion and intensity to her role, proving once again she's not just an icon but a force. Norton balances charisma and stoicism like a veteran warrior who's been waiting for the right war.
If you love martial arts, classic action stars, or just a film that delivers punch after punch with heart, Black Creek is a must-watch. It's the kind of film that makes you want to stand up and cheer after every fight scene.
10 out of 10 stars. Cynthia Rothrock is still the queen of combat, and Richard Norton proves legends only get better with time.

Cynthia Rothrock owns the screen in the action packed western, "Black Creek." The gritty drama is intense with a bit of fun as well. Cynthia plays Rose, a gunslinger investigating the death of her brother and must fight corrupt law enforcement to uncover the truth. This film is filled with intense training scenes, fast paced attacks, and a cast of highky skilled, and talented martial artists, Don "The Dragon" Wilson, Keith Cooke, Benny "The Jet" Uquidez, and many more. The late Richard Norton gives a stellar performance as Rose's nemesis and their fight scene is something you do not want to miss. Choreographed by the amazing Mike Moller the battles in Black Creek will have all action fans on the edge of their seats. The drama is heart pounding and the performance by Eliza Kelly as Rose's sister is nothing less than award worthy. To top it all off, the talent of Cynthia Rothrock shines through in both her martial arts skills and her savvy performance as a gunslinger with a sharp wit and good heart. This film will be remembered, and we all look forward to Black Creek 2.
I really enjoyed this movie great Story, cast and awesome Fight scenes, Cynthia Rothrock was back in action like she never left the Fight Choreography was definitely on point for this movie. Definitely would recommend others to watch this Amazing movie, and Richard Norton was cold blooded he definitely played the Villian Role well. This movie had a lot of Grit and Dark undertone but the story had much meaning too it, also the cast was great you can tell they were a real Family on screen and that they got along well during the movie how the acting technique really messed together. On screen. I saw the movie on Amazon Prime, it definitely a must see for sure no doubt.

I just wanted to say wow - Black Creek was absolutely fantastic! I was blown away by the energy, the action, and the heart behind it all. Cynthia was phenomenal, as always - powerful, graceful, and completely captivating on screen. And seeing you alongside Richard Norton again was such a treat! The chemistry you they share never fades, and it brought back so many great memories of China O'Brien.
It was amazing seeing the cast reunited - what a gift for longtime fans. You've managed to capture the spirit of the past while bringing something fresh and thrilling.
Also, mixing a Western with martial arts was such a brilliant idea! It worked so well - the wide-open landscapes paired with intense fight choreography created such a unique and gripping atmosphere. You've really shown how two iconic genres can come together in a way that feels both nostalgic and totally original.
Thank you for giving us this incredible film. You and the team should be so proud!
All the best.

On the 17 June BLACK CREEK was released on major platforms and I watched it twice, and that is after I was blesses to be on a premiere in California. This is such an amazing old west story, but its also a martial arts western. Not just that I find it to be a dark graphic novel on screen. Yes there is also a real Black Creek novel and the film is even cooler! The martial arts film legends Cynthia Rothrock, Richard Norton (Rest in peace🙏🏻), Keith Cooke, Don Wilson, Keith Vitali, Benny Urquides and more made am amazing ansamble and so many cinematic views. The mood set on screen puts chills down my spine. Crazy stunts, fight choreography directed by Mike Moller, what a pleasure for my eyes! I really hope to see more soon, no spoilers, see the end credits.

I had the unique pleasure of attending the premiere of Black Creek in Los Angeles last October, and I've been thinking about it ever since. A movie created by the legendary Cynthia Rothrock, Black Creek is a bold, genre-blending film that feels like a landmark moment in martial arts cinema. To put it simply: this isn't just a martial arts movie - it's a martial arts western, and possibly the first of its kind.
What makes Black Creek stand out is how it refuses to be defined by just one genre. Yes, there are the thrilling fight scenes you'd expect from Rothrock, delivered with her signature precision and power. But beyond the combat, there's a real story here - one grounded in emotion, family, justice, and redemption. The dusty, lawless frontier setting adds texture and mood that elevates the entire film.
Rothrock proves once again that she's not only an action icon, but a true storyteller. Her character is compelling, complex, and rooted in a sense of purpose. The film doesn't rely solely on fists and kicks to move the plot forward - it uses drama, tension, and character development. That's a rare achievement in action cinema.
Black Creek breaks new ground, and it does so with style and sincerity. It's a film that pays homage to both the western and martial arts traditions while creating something entirely fresh. For longtime fans of Cynthia Rothrock, this movie is a gift. For newcomers, it's a perfect introduction to what she can do when given creative control.
In a world where Hollywood keep releasing the same old action films, Black Creek rides in like a breath of fresh air - bold, unique, and unforgettable.

A star-studded cast led by the legendary Cynthia Rothrock absolutely delivers in this thrilling, action-packed western that blends old-school grit with modern martial arts intensity.
The late, great Richard Norton gives a standout performance as the film's unforgettable villain-equal parts menacing and magnetic. Their on-screen chemistry and fierce fight scenes are a true highlight. It's a rare treat to see this kind of genre crossover done so well.
If Hollywood is listening we need more westerns likr this are few and far between these days-we definitely need more! Already looking forward to the sequel.

This is a Fantastic movie and I would highly recommend it to anyone watching an Action movie. It stars some of the best Martial Artists in the world. This is a great film with a lot of amazing characters and great action.watching Cynthia Rothrock and Richard Norton have great chemistry on screen is fantastic so is Don the Dragon Wilson playing his part and the same for Benny the Jet Rodriguez. Keith Vitali had an awesome fight seen with Benny. Overall this was a fun one to watch and I think people will enjoy watching it. The film brings you back to old Western of yesteryears. So sit back and enjoy.
Saddle up, because Cynthia Rothrock's Black Creek is finally here!
As a big western fan, this movie steeped me in the old west, and kept me there throughout its runtime (which flew by). Of course the fight scenes did not disappoint, and I love how Rose still bothered to carry a gun. I couldn't stop watching this even if I wished to. I'm diseased, sick with the fever to witness potty-mouthed Rose Jennings kicking ass. And what a phenomenal final performance by Richard Norton. It's got to be his best role by far.
Every penny ended up on the screen as expected. This is truly something special - the very definition of a passion project.
Bring on Part 2!

BLACK CREEK - has your back seat to a sensational return to the screen and this time Grandmaster Cynthia Rothrock wearing triple hats in the cr8tive film making realm. In her 4 decades in film , she has incredibly grown not only as an actress but a very viable filmmaker. Here she's plays outlaw Rose Jennings , who learns her dear brother has been murdered and seeks the inexcusable reason why . (tho some may say revenge plot cliche ) the DELIVERY of this utilized formula , is HEARTFELT ORIGINAL w the performances of the entire cast , w Keith Cooke (Scorpion from Mortal Kombat & China O Brien) deliberating more depth than usual with this role , as a ranch hand from her past . Long time Martial Arts sensation Richard Norton (Norris The Octagon /Fury Road/and king time costar of Mrs Rothrock . And sadly recently passed away as this is now his final film performance ) as the villain, Sinclair in a revenge western , that also has a lot of heart with its story on redemption , reception & ultimately restitution complete with a well rounded cast from a lot of action film history , w excellent performances by Undefeated WORLD CHAMPION Benny The Jet Urquidez and his fight reunion with another #1 Champion in tournament circuit Sensei Keith Vitali and Kickboxing champion Don The Dragon Wilson as a surprisngly belivable shaman healer , the film has MUCH MORE going for it , than just an action martial arts film ... if you like The Magnificent Seven or Outlaw Johnny Black , you'll absolutely love saddling up for BLACK CREEK !!!
I'll be honest-I went into Black Creek thinking this was going to be a respectful nod to all of us who've stuck with Cynthia Rothrock through the years. A little nostalgia, a couple of signature kicks, and a reminder of why she's a legend.
But she went above and beyond.
Yes, the nostalgia is there-those fight beats, that no-nonsense stare, the quiet intensity before the storm-it all hits in the best way.
But what I didn't expect was just how much grit, power, and heart Rothrock still brings to the screen. This isn't just a tribute to her past roles-this is a legit action film with real stakes, solid performances, and a leading lady who hasn't missed a step.
The fight scenes are raw, grounded, and tight-no flash just for the sake of flash. Every move feels earned. She's not just here to show up-she's here to remind everyone that she still sets the standard.
And let's not ignore the emotional depth she brings to this one. There's a weight to her character that makes you lean in between the punches. She wears experience like armor-both on-screen and off-and it shows.
So, to Cynthia: thank you for not phoning it in. Thank you for showing up and still giving it your all. And thank you for continuing to be the Lady Dragon we all fell in love with.
Final verdict: 9/10 stars - a powerful return that doesn't rely on the past but earns every minute of the present.

I bought it on Amazon Prime on the first day. Loved it! Going to rewatch this weekend. Will definitely buy the blue ray when it gets released. I have to comment on the cinematography... It's beautiful! It stands up to any Hollywood blockbuster and shows what dedication and spirit can produce without an astronomical budget. Thank you and your team for all of the hard work!
Cynthia Rothrock is a martial arts legend. Her characters have always been a step above the average in such films. I'm really impressed by her acting skills in this. The whole cast adds a gravitas to what could be just another martial arts film.
Wonderful fighting scenes, but I was also emotionally engaged with the story.
Well done!

I worked with Cynthia Rothrock and had a fight scene with her on Sworn to Justice in 1996. Honestly, as much as I enjoyed her movies over the decades...this was my absolute favorite. The story, acting, and production were very well done. I know about 1/3 of the people in the film. But Richard Norton has been a dear friend of mine for 27 years. I'm still very heartbroken by his loss, but I'm happy, thanks to Cynthia, that he left us on a high acting note. This was his finest acting performance ever, and yours too. Thank you for taking great care in putting this production together. I admire you and your vision.
At any rate...BRAVO on Black Creek. It is a very good one. Best Western I've seen in years. And a strong female lead in this genre, I don't believe, has ever been done before.
Warm regards, Ray Normandin.

I grew up watching Cynthia Rothrock, so seeing her create a movie that she wrote and starred in was a real treat. Black Creek delivers solid action and a cool western vibe. Cynthia still brings that energy and toughness that we see in her earlier Hong Kong movies. Not sure what the haters were expecting? If you're a real fan, you'll appreciate seeing Cynthia still kicking butt and doing what she does best. It's packed with familiar faces from the world of martial arts including Don Wilso, Keith Cooke, Keith Vitali, Benny "The Jet" Urquidez, and the late and great Richard Northon. Definitely worth the watch.
Gotta say, this is the best new film I've seen in quite a while! It's rare for a movie to keep me glued to the scree, but this one most certainly did! I was almost afraid to blink because I didn't want to miss something good. I've been a longtime Cynthia Rothrock fan, as well as a martial artist myself, and this movie has it ALL. Good storyline, memorable characters, and plenty of excellent fight choreography. I guess I should add I'm not usually much of a fan of westerns either, but this one will definitely be a part of my movie collection! Well done and can't wait to see more great movies like this one!

MUST-SEE MOVIE ALERT: BLACK CREEK STARRING THE QUEEN OF ACTION, CYNTHIA ROTHROCK!
I remember talking to Cynthia Rothrock about this at the earliest stages of development. I knew it would be amazing but never knew how epic it would be. Cynthia Rothrock returns in full force in Director Shannon Lanier's thrilling new action-western "BLACK Creek" and it's everything fans of classic martial arts cinema could hope for... and more!
This film is a glorious throwback to the golden era of action, with Rothrock leading an all-star lineup of legendary martial arts icons:
Don "The Dragon" Wilson
Richard Norton
Keith Cooke
Patrick Kilpatrick
Keith Vitali
Benny "The Jet" Urquidez
It's a powerhouse reunion that hits all the nostalgic highs while delivering fresh, pulse-pounding energy for a new generation of action fans.
Set in a gritty, atmospheric western town, Black Creek tells the story of Rose Jennings (Rothrock), who returns home to devastating loss and rises up in a quest for justice. What follows is a whirlwind of intense fight scenes, emotional stakes, and a showdown you won't forget.
The action? Top-tier. The fight choreography, led by Mike Moeller and the Swiss Power Stunts crew, is flawless dynamic, raw, and executed with precision. Seeing Rothrock and Norton face off again is a total treat, with both still hitting their marks with power and grace.
The setting? Incredible. The old western town is beautifully recreated, dripping with authenticity and style the perfect backdrop for a gritty tale of revenge and redemption.
What makes Black Creek so special is how it honors the past while welcoming the future. It's a love letter to the video store era of action cinema, yet feels modern, fresh, and totally relevant.
If you grew up watching these legends this is a must-watch.
If you're new to their work this is the perfect place to start.

The Western genre is one that Cynthia Rothrock is not well known for. A far cry from her days of b-movie actioners that dominated video stores in the 90's, she rides into this new territory like a force of nature as the gun-slinging, whiskey-drinking, hell-bent on revenge Rose Jennings, a woman who came to find out her brother and his family was murdered and is now seeking retribution.
Needless to say, this isn't your typical western. It's a martial arts extravaganza set in the Wild West as Rothrock dishes out some of her best moves in years, slugging her way through bandits and brawlers as she makes her way to Damien Sinclair - the man who killed her brother. So much respect given to the late great Richard Norton in what would be his final film credit. Norton goes all in as the evil Sinclair, a character so diabolical you can't take your eyes off him. I am reminded of Henry Fonda in Sergio Leone's "Once Upon a Time in The West", who played opposite Charles Bronson as the man who killed Bronson's brother, igniting a similar chain of events, and I don't think it's a stretch to say that Richard Norton's performance here is right up there with that. Rothrock and Norton go way back as co-stars so it is truly awesome seeing them together on-screen once again.
Given the limited budget, the crew did an amazing job making this look as historically accurate as possible. It was actually filmed on the same movie set as "Tombstone". The costumes and set designs are all reminiscent of classic westerns set in dusty old towns where everybody knows each other and one wrong look can end in bloodshed. Rose Jennings exudes the essence of a fiery loner, one who will stop at nothing to settle the score.
The fight choreography is exceptional, which isn't a shock considering Rothrock's expertise in that area. What is shocking is the amount of gore! While there is plenty of kung fu action to go around, the fights are over fast and the violence is very brutal and graphic, even bordering on exploitation and grindhouse level violence at times. I knew when I saw the intestines hanging off the disemboweled body that there would be no holding back...
The story is very clearly one of the Hero's Journey (the monomyth), and almost every archetype is included - the Hero, The Mentor, The Trickster, The Shapeshifter, and The Shadow - all falling into place and providing obstacle after obstacle as Rose sets forth on her journey. World-renowned kickboxer and fellow action star Don "The Dragon" Wilson serves as the "Mentor" figure to the Hero, Rose. After a tried but failed attempt to deliver frontier justice on the "Shadow" Sinclair, Rose is beaten and left for dead, until she awakens in the faraway plains in the care of Xiyang (Wilson) and the "Trickster" Roy (R. Marcus Taylor) who strive to help her rekindle her mind, body and her spirit. This skeletal storytelling structure is executed well as you find yourself immersed in what's happening and what's coming next. We also get a throwback training montage, which I found particularly delightful.
The martial arts talent in this is insane and fans of old school action films will be happy to see a lot of familiar faces kicking butt. While bits of dialogue seem forced or out of place, overall, the acting among the supporting cast is solid. I thought Forbes Riley, in particular, was a standout and really held her own as the Madame of Sinclair's brothel. Cynthia Rothrock is an amazing lead and gives a career-defining erformance in Rose. She is one of the coolest characters ever put to screen. Equal credit must be given to Richard Norton, who in his last role, delivered possibly his finest hour as well, contrasting Rose in every way as a threatening adversary.
Black Creek puts it all out there - drama, grit, action, suspense - and delivers in the best ways possible. While it's an epic story, it's not an "Epic" on the grand scale of bigger budget films. It is an Odyssey confined to limited time and resources. It needs more time to world build, more time to explore themes, more time for epic long drawn-out fight scenes. What it prevails in is utilizing every available resource to its fullest potential - which might be the key to its greatness! The foundation is laid and you can feel every ounce of passion and energy put into this. Rose Jennings is a morally complex character and I feel there is so much left of her to explore. I would love to know more about her past and how she became a master in the ways of martial arts, despite coming from a small Southwestern town in the Old West. So yes - Black Creek rules. Rothrock and crew have created an explosive machine - one that begs to be followed up on. I will definitely be watching this again.
One more thing - SCORPION KICK!
Needless to say, this isn't your typical western.

Black Creek is a thrilling ride that blends gritty Western vibes with high-octane martial arts action! Cynthia Rothrock shines as Rose Jennings, a fierce sheriff's sister on a quest for revenge against a ruthless outlaw (Richard Norton, chilling as ever). The fight scenes are such a standout-Rothrock's kicks and punches pack a punch, and are soooooo fun to watch. Cynthia is truly talented and e citing to watch in all her fight scenes. Robert Clancy co-wrote and co-produced this film and his passion for storytelling brings heart to the redemption arc and dusty Southwestern setting. Great job bringing this unique indie gem to life!!!
