I wasn't sure I'd like this show when I watched the first episode. The main character takes a little bit of getting used to, but I grew to love him. He's cool, has a killer strut, he's amusing and whip-smart. He just can't seem to not get kidnapped. Still, by Season 6 Episode 12, I was nearly in tears that the show was over. I kinda get why, but I still think there was at least another season of stories to tell. This program is a charming lark with lovable characters. Another season could have explored more of their backstories. Sorry the series came to an end, but I'm keeping an eye out for these actors in new projects. I can't wait to see what they do next!
Well as one reviewer said what a lovely suprise. This series has everything, excellent acting, storyline, photography with superb interplay between characters that keeps one enthralled and entertained for the whole episodes.
The producer should be congratulated for his superb characterizations and to top it off the sub titles are good. I have only seen up to Series 3 and cannot wait for Youtube to bring out the remainder. This series is such a pleasant suprise from the English Detective series of the 2010-2020, where the storylines are often weak and interplay between the characters nowhere near as good as the continental shows. There is another series by the French called "Cain" that is in a similar vein but not as good as "Cherif" but still worth watching.

Cherif has heart, the series that is. Unlike 99.99% of crime/cop dramas it's uplifting. Yes there is crime. Murders, scandals, corruption, etc. But the subplots among the characters realky sets Cherif apart.
The plots and the drama are well drawn, but that is not what makes this series. It is the almost Shakespearean interplay between the drama and the audience, the superb acting of just about everyone in every show, and the clear connection among the main characters. It is clear that the lead character works to bring out the best in the other actors. It is also clear that the plots, drama and interchanges are designed to remind everyone, actors and audience alike, of their humanity. We are presented with a world in which people who have made profound errors are seen as human (well, mostly) and there is no hint of the kinds of social divisions that often sneak in through the side door. All this while keeping us on the edge of our seats!

I just love this serie, is in my top 10 and is wonderful the development of the relationship between Cherif and Adeline, they make me laugh a lot and is pleasant the way Cherif uses humor and tv shows to solve crimes, looking like a light and humored version of CSI that I love too.
I really strong recommend this serie.
