the perfect storm

Xanders mother was found dead many years ago. Now he goes to meet his father and family for a little get together, without his wife audrey as you can understand the way his family is her really wouldnt want her to be there. He has a sister who never seems to get noticed, and a step mom thats a bit of a sleep arounder. But one night the father strangely falls down the steirs and dies just like that. Step mom is not happy at the will reading but there is something more going on there that becomes apparent. Acting is as can be expeected there was some intrigue that I wasnt expecting so that was alright overall the normal fair but its was still ok.

Truly Awful

This movie makes you feel like your IQ is dropping for every 5 minutes of watching it. The writing is absolutely awful. The acting is as bad as it can possibly get. In one scene, a gun is being pointed at someone and it looks like a toy gun; there's not even a hole on the end for a bullet to potentially come out of. At least try to make it seem real. And the actor who got "shot" doesn't know how to act injured at all. The sound effects department doesn't know how to make a gunshot sound. The writers thought they were clever by adding all kinds of twists and turns but it just got too ridiculous. No one should be proud of being associated with this movie.

Lifetime at it's most self-aware!

If you love the over-the-top plot twists and over acting of a true Lifetime Movie as much as I do, this is the movie for you. The premise was simple but, my goodness, every time I thought I knew what was going on this movie added 1 curveball after another. I literally laughed out loud a few times at the absurdity - yet it was done in such a self-aware way that it didn't ruin the movie. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment down to the final scene.

Without giving anything away, this is the story of a whirlwind romance and marriage between 2 beautiful and successful people. He gets summoned home by his domineering father, and tells her she should stay at home to finish the project she is working on. He tells her that she will meet his family at a later date but he wants to shield her from them a bit longer as they are very dysfunctional. Her project ends sooner than expected so she decides to surprise him by showing up at his father's estate. That, my friends, is where the real fun begins ;)

I highly recommend this movie for pure entertainment purposes. If you are looking for a serious, based-on-a-true-story movie, watch something else!

8/10 stars.
