When you watch a rom com you can nearly expect what's going to happen, this is no different. However the plot is utter ridiculous even by rom com standards. Most of the actors have no chemistry and the production is choppy to say the least. Brooke Shields isnt bad, Rachael Harris (Lucifer) has some good lines, Wilson Cruz (Star Trek Discovery) has some good lines too. Miranda Cosgrove and Sean Teale (the bride and groom in the movie) have zero chemistry. Im not even sure why Chad Michael Murray's character Will was even necessary for this movie. The best part of the whole film is the beautiful scenery. Most of the film is utter cringeworthy stuff. Save yourself 90 mins and watch something else.
There's so many movies out there, that are better then this. That's true. But, I watched more movies that are mutch worse.
The most disappointing thing was, the non sparkling moments between the bride and groom.
I know, that Miranda is a very professional actress. So it wasn't really obvious. But, other couples in this movie show us, what's should be between them.
I don't know why they doesn't change the acter for the groom. Sometimes there's no chemistry between people. And here was it clearly to see.
The jokes wasn't always funny and the writing wasn't so good. The movie shouldn't be produced like this.
Sometimes are small things bad for a movie. And when this small mistakes get too much... And no acter is there to overplayed that, then it's going downward. Sadly to say, it could have been better and it's nothing you had to watch.

Rachael Harris and Wilson Cruz were missed opportunities for a much better movie. Miranda Cosgrove's influencer job needed more backstory and her acting needed some help. I wasn't so much a fan of Teale, I didn't find much charisma from him on screen, and the chemistry with him and Cosgrove was dull. Same with Brooke Shields and Benjamin Bratt.
The plot was a story that's been told before with nothing that sets it apart. The tropical background did all the heavy lifting, and again, Harris and Cruz were the standouts (as they usually are in their projects).
I'm really glad to see Brooke Shields back on screen, but this movie was filler. Her other Netflix film, A Castle for Christmas, was delightful but Mother of the Bride has very little in terms of plot, just a really good tropical locale.

I usually like light rom-com movies but this one was not all that great. The setting were it took place was beautiful but the movie didn't use enough of it. I thought the acting in this was very wooden and some of the dialog was so cringe worthy. Booke Shileds looked really good for her age of being almost 60 but, something about her eyebrows really bugged me. Benjamin Bratt as a 60 year old is still very cute. I know this was suppose to be a comady but I didn't laugh at any of it. I was glad to see Star Trek: Discovery's Wilson Cruz in the movie. I think he is a good actor. The movie was only good for a one time watch and I would never watch it again. It's a type of move for when your bored and don't have anything else to watch.
Many reviewers complain that this movie was silly and not as good as others of the genre.
While I do agree, that Netflix is not exactly guaranteed awesomeness all the time.. what were you expecting? When you open a can of ravioli, are you then sad it didn't taste like a gourmet meal? Check your expectations.
I knew what I was gonna get, when I started watching this movie. It was your standard rom-com, with little to remember it by ten years from now. Just some movie that I once watched. But guess what? It entertained me, while I was watching it. And Brooke Shields was playing a cute character.
So just know, that it is not going to be Love Actually and you'll be fine.
