Exclusive: Major League Wrestling has appointed Emmy-winning actor and wrestler Paul Walter Hauser as Executive Producer. In addition, Mlw has signed with Hauser’s management company, Artists First, for representation with the goal of securing television and streaming distribution deals as well as brand licensing partnerships.

Since its 2002 launch, Mlw has had its events and other programming carried by smaller streaming platforms and pay sports channels and available on its YouTube channel. Its efforts to secure a major TV/streaming distributor led to a lawsuit against the biggest wrestling player, WWE, for interference, which was settled.

As Executive Producer, Hauser will play a major role in shaping the creative and business direction of Mlw as well as boosting its promotional reach across media platforms and driving new content initiatives.

Set to enter production in North Carolina in March, with AGC Studios co-producing and fully financing, Driver’s Ed centers on a group of teens who steal their school’s driver’s ed car to go on a road trip to help a high school senior track down his college-freshman girlfriend and win her back.

AGC International launched sales at the European Film Market in Berlin last week, with additional castings to be announced soon. UTA Independent Film Group is co-repping US rights with AGC.

Farrelly — one half of famed comedy filmmaking duo The Farrelly Brothers — will direct from an original screenplay by Thomas Moffett. Producers include Jonas Pate, Jennifer Pate (Amazon’s upcoming The Runarounds), and David Stone, co-founder of Tfc Management and Tfc Productions. Skydance has closed a deal with screenwriter Derek Connolly to adapt Sega’s “Eternal Champions” video game series into a feature film, the company announced on Friday.

Originally released in 1993, “Eternal Champions” is a fighting game made for the Sega Genesis console. The game’s story follows an omniscient being known as the Eternal Champion who, in order to change the fate of a world on the brink of collapse, gathers the dead souls of individuals otherwise destined for greatness from different eras in history and pits them against each other in a fighting tournament.
