Another Naked and Afraid Hit

Keep em coming Discovery! I could watch this show, and all the shows like it every weekend. I can understand that its probably difficult to find people willing to do this to themselves (I admittedly wouldn't want to) - but I do like watching people persevere against terrible conditions, and the only thing keeping them from leaving is their willpower.

The spin of people doing this by themselves does add another layer of complexity, because most humans benefit from the energy of others. So you are essentially taxing your body that much more, doing all the work yourself, and have nobody to share in your toils, or successes.

I love the show, hope they keep this and ones like it coming for years to come.

Not the best

We were very disappointed in the majority of the participants this season, however, the girls were strongest until the end. Many of the survivalist complained the entire time about being cold, hungry, the insects, etc. And acted as though they had no idea what a solo journey into the wilderness meant. We have seen much stronger survivalists on Naked and Afraid. Not sure if some of the problems were related to poor editing. Programing was very slow and often boring making it difficult to watch until the season finale. Please do better in the future, as Naked and Afraid has potential to be interesting.

Naked and Afraid: with a Film Crew

They're not truly alone since, during the daytime, they're followed by a film crew. Part of the experience of being on your own is having no other humans to interact with, and feeling the anxiety, fear, and suspense that come with it. However, having a camera crew to interact with, or at least to monologue to, significantly diminishes this element. On top of that, according to articles online, the participants are only compensated for the time away from their jobs. While an all-expenses-paid vacation is not the worst thing in the world, the show could at least offer a prize to give contestants a reason to persevere.
