I really liked this film because it was just a good story! It didn't beat you over the head about anything LGBTQ! Even though the actors weren't known..everyone did a great job, especially the two leads. This gilm could be a love story or just about two best friends. It's definitely a must see and has everything from the drama to the comedy. An intelligent film that doesn't insult the audience and isn't degrading! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good drama. Thus film showcases how intelligent people can becone obsessive too! I truly enjoyed it and can't wait to see the next film ftom this Director!
When I stumbled upon this 2024 thriller titled "Lethal Love Affair", I have to admit that my first thought when seeing the cover was: 'probably another movie from Maverick Entertainment'.
Lo and behold, it was indeed that. As soon as that ethereal white horse came galloping across the screen, it was indeed Maverick Entertainment. And with that, I have to admit that my expectations to the movie went from slim to none. So why watch it? Well, on the off-chance that the movie would break the formula of crappy movies that Maverick Entertainment has been spewing out.
Writers Joyce Fitzpatrick and Brian Shackelford put together a fair enough script and storyline, which certainly was a step up from the previous rubbish of storylines that I've seen from Maverick Entertainment. So thumbs up for the improved writing here.
I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. And that is actually something that spoke well in favor of the movie, as it is something I do enjoy whenever I sit down to watch a movie. The acting performances in this movie was also more professional than in many previous movies from Maverick Entertainment. So that was a step in the right direction.
The production level in "Lethal Love Affair" is a major step up for Maverick Entertainment, as it actually looks and sounds like a proper movie, whereas their previous movies have been of questionable production, often looking, feeling and sounding home-made and amateurish.
"Lethal Love Affair" was definitely an improvement from Maverick Entertainment, and it was a watchable enough movie for what it was.
My rating of director Brian Shackelford's 2024 thriller "Lethal Love Affair" lands on a five out of ten stars.

I avoid watching wlw content written and directed by men because they always put their heternormative and ego into the art. However at the time of me watching this it was out for 2 months with no written reviews.
Positives
Realistic looking actors. Body types and complexions were showcased that normally aren't. Fem/fem.
Time-lapse of the couple bonding. Usually with movies you don't feel like the timeline was realistic.
Realistic personalities. Zoe and Crystal are both toxic and want love in their own ways.
Acting by Yaseem, Angela and the sister were amazing for a low budget film, supporting cast was a bit painful to watch at times.
The Drama, the Toxic personalities were entertaining.
Cons
The first argument came out of nowhere. It went from lovey-dovey to wtf in a second. It would have been nice to see some red flags that were overlooked because of "love". Crystal does address this slightly.
Summary
I came into this with little to no expectations based on Brian being involved. Brian did a great job with the directing and I will give him, his jacket.
Audio, lighting, makeup, costume and everything we don't notice until it is bad in a movie, was good in this for a small budget.
I don't know if the team would ever read this, but you guys did a great job.
