5 Actors Who Could Make HBO’s Harry Potter Series Truly Magical
Image
Alright, Potterheads, grab your wands, floo powder, and maybe a pint of Butterbeer because the magic is officially back! HBO is diving headfirst into the Wizarding World with a brand-new Harry Potter series, and we are this close to hexing someone out of sheer excitement. Whether you’re cautiously hopeful or already screaming “Accio nostalgia!” at your screen, one thing is clear: this Harry Potter series has some massive robes to fill.

Let’s be honest: Harry Potter wasn’t just a series; it was a cultural event. It made us check our mail for Hogwarts letters way past age 11, debate house loyalties like our lives depended on it, and cry over fictional deaths like they were family. So, when it comes to casting, HBO better brings its A-game (and maybe a Pensieve for reference).

All The Songs In ‘Severance’ Season 2: From The Who To Ella Fitzgerald
Image
The long wait for Severance Season 2 ended at the end of January, and six episodes of the ten-episode season have arrived on Apple TV+ thus far.

The core four Macro Data Refinement team reunited in the first episode, and they are back to their shenanigans and investigations of the severed basement floor of their Lumon Industries campus. Many needle drops this season happen in scenes that involve motion, whether it be running through the endless white hallways as innies or driving cars in the outie world.

Theodore Shapiro is the series composer of that haunting piano theme that accompanies the animated opening credits of the show. Various tunes glorify Kier Eagan, the founder of Lumon, and the “Defiant Jazz” tune from last season’s pizza party cannot be forgotten. Electronic duo Odesza even recently designed an 8-hour set of “Music to Refine To” for a corporate work day.

The following contains spoilers for Re:Zero Season 3, Episode 11, "Liliana Masquerade," streaming now on Crunchyroll.

As Re:Zero enters the Counterattack Arc, one thing is confirmed. The heroes are not giving any quarter to the enemy this time around. Within two episodes, Subaru and his friends have cornered two Archbishops of Sin as the rest of the Witch's Cult experience resistance like never before. With the battlefield scattered, the story has tried to run parallelly between narratives to highlight the heroic struggle. But this time, the focus is on only one fight from where a hero will rise to turn the tide of the war with only her voice.

After vanishing for the entirety of an episode, Priscilla and the songstress Liliana get their own episode as reparation. Re:Zero Season 3, Episode 11 gives the duo an insurmountable challenge as they fight the vile Sirius Romanée-Conti, the Archbishop of Wrath. One would think the...

10 Things From the Harry Potter Movies That Only Make Sense to Book Readers
Image
The Harry Potterfilms are just as iconic as the books that inspired them, and as such, many people who have watched the movies haven't read the books. This, however, doesn't make them any less of a Potterhead. Still, the movies fail to adapt the books properly at times, so movie-watchers might have a hard time understanding certain aspects of the movies that are only explained in the books.

The first few films were created when the Harry Potter series wasn't completed. This led directors to leave out some information that became relevant when the franchise kept growing. Since they couldn't go back and filming time was limited, a lot of questions remained unanswered in the Potter cinematographic universe. Hopefully, the TV series will have more time and care for all these details.

Andy Cohen Dismisses Lisa Vanderpump Rhobh Return Rumors
Andy Cohen
Bravo host Andy Cohen definitively shut down speculation about Lisa Vanderpump’s potential return to “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” (Rhobh) during a recent Sirius Xm radio show.

Pamela Anderson Says ‘The Last Showgirl’ Success Is “the Best Payback” Following “Strange” ‘Pam & Tommy’ Series
Image
Pamela Anderson isn’t holding back about how good it feels to receive high praise for her new film The Last Showgirl — especially after the Hulu series Pam & Tommy, which was released nearly three years ago, was made without her knowledge, she says.

Anderson recently went on Sirius Xm’s Andy Cohen Live to discuss The Last Showgirl, and Cohen asked her about Pam & Tommy. “I didn’t have any involvement. No one called me, which was so strange and that was hurtful,” Anderson said. “I think ethically it’s illegal. But I mean, you’re kind of fair game. I remember people telling me that a long time ago that you are basically public property and have no right to privacy.”

Cohen then asked her if anyone from Hulu ever came to her and tried to make it right. Anderson replied, “No they haven’t.”

‘Yacht Rock’: HBO Doc Shows How Bands Like Steely Dan, Christopher Cross and Toto Became Cool All Over Again
Image
Ask any two music fans what qualifies as yacht rock, and an argument is sure to ensue.

Does Steely Dan count? (Absolutely.) What about Hall & Oates?

In the late 1970s and early ’80s, the term “yacht rock” was not yet a thing. But everyone knew the music of the Doobie Brothers, Toto and Christopher Cross — who swept the 1980 Grammys with his shimmering ballad “Sailing.”

Those acts topped the charts in an era when slick production, smooth melodies and expert chops ruled the radio waves alongside the country-tinged hits of the Eagles. That would all change when MTV crashed the scene. Suddenly the likes of “What a Fool Believes” and “Africa” were consigned to the uncool “soft rock” heap. After the rise of Madonna and Michael Jackson, some of the earlier wave of musicians moved on to soundtracks, like Kenny Loggins with the “Top Gun” hit “Danger Zone.”

Michael McDonald became...

He also voiced the Genie in the animated Aladdin film and became a pop culture staple.

One of his most beloved performances is that of the titular role in Mrs. Doubtfire. For playing a divorced father, who dresses up as a nanny to be near his children, Williams received the Golden Globe for Best Actor. To get the voice and look of Mrs. Doubtfire right, he reportedly went into an adult store to test it out on the general public.

You're Going To Want These New D&d Dice Sets, No Matter What Class You Play
Image
Dungeons & Dragons' latest dice sets offer something unique for every class. Dice are the heart of any DnD campaign, and collecting them has become a favorite secondary pastime for many a player. They're (usually) cheap physical accessories to what's often an expensive hobby. They also come in just about every color, shape, and size, from mini to massive, from resin to bone, from cube to cylinder to icosahedron, and every other variant you can imagine. Those who collect (or hoard) dice have earned the moniker "dice goblin" for their apparently insatiable greed.

And dice goblins will rejoice today with the release of Adventure DIce, 15 class-specific dice sets in an officially licensed product line by Sirius Dice, as announced by the official DnD X (formerly Twitter) page. Each set matches with a particular class, and includes all the dice a character of that class will need "through Tier 2". That means each...

Conan O’Brien’s Amusing Emmys Hosting Gigs Showcase the Energy the Oscars Need
Image
“And there’s the internet. At this very moment your kids are on YouTube watching a cat on a toilet. Instead of watching that footage where it belongs: On the Fox network!”

Conan O’Brien said that as part of his “Trouble at NBC” song-and-dance number at the 2006 Emmys, which enumerated the many challenges facing NBC, even though the awards show was airing on NBC. For this writer’s money, that entire Emmys broadcast was the most successful of this young century. And all thanks due to O’Brien’s whipsmart but never truly cynical energy. It’s a formula he should replicate at the 2025 Oscars, where the Academy just announced this morning that O’Brien will host.

There are some incredible lessons to learn from that 2006 Emmys ceremony, which was O’Brien’s second gig for TV’s biggest night. The most important one is: He’s a TV fan,...

T.J. Miller Open to Deadpool 4 Return Following Feud With 'Good Friend' Ryan Reynolds
Image
After appearing in the first two Deadpool movies, T.J. Miller did not return for this year's Deadpool & Wolverine. This was no surprise, as Miller had previously spoken about an apparent falling out he'd had with Ryan Reynolds.

In a new interview for Sirius Xm's The Bonfire (per EW), Miller shared that he recently spoke with Reynolds. While Miller did not share any additional details about that conversation, it's a promising sign for the two actors becoming friends again after they went their separate ways after Deadpool 2. Though Miller had believed he'd never return as Weasel in any new Deadpool movies, he now says it'd be "awesome" to come back for something like Deadpool 4, but it would be up to Reynolds to give him that call.

At the time of writing, the Harry Potter TV show is in the process of finding its main cast, but some of the actors from the movies have expressed their very honest opinions about the remake.

Gary Oldman Wanted More Sirius Black in Harry Potter Movies
Image
We could all use a bit more Gary Oldman in our lives, and so could the Harry Potter movies, according to the actor himself. Oldman played Sirius Black, the notorious and titular Prisoner of Azkaban, and godfather to Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe). The actor made his Wizarding World debut in Prisoner of Azkaban, and had a small cameo in The Goblet of Fire, before getting a much larger role in The Order of the Phoenix. However, looking back at his time in the Potter-verse, Gary Oldman wishes fans got to see more of Sirius Black on screen across the franchise.

"I love, Sirius," Gary Oldman told IndieWire at the Emmys. Originally established as a villain with the intent of murdering Harry Potter, Sirius Black later becomes one of Potter's closest allies and his only remaining family. However, after discovering his godfather, Potter was orphaned once more, as Black met his...

Gary Oldman Posits He Could Return To ‘Harry Potter’ Universe Through TV Reboot: “I Could Do Dumbledore”
Image
Gary Oldman wouldn’t mind another trip to Hogwarts.

The veteran actor, who memorably portrayed Sirius Black in four Harry Potter films in the 2000s, said he’s not opposed to boarding the new cast of the TV reboot from HBO, which is currently searching for its Harry, Ron and Hermione.

While he told IndieWire at the Emmys red carpet that the show’s creative team has not approached him about any roles, he added that he felt his character was not as present in the films as he would have liked him to be — a sentiment long-shared by fans of the magical franchise.

“I love Sirius,” the Slow Horses star said Sunday. “He wasn’t in it enough. He turned up and then he went through the veil.”

Though the Oscar winner is not expecting any calls soon, perhaps he’ll return on the small screen in another equally...

Gary Oldman says Sirius Black didn’t appear in the Harry Potter movies enough
Image
Gary Oldman played Sirius Black in the Harry Potter franchise, but he recently told IndieWire that he didn’t appear in the movies enough.

“I love, Sirius,” Oldman said. “He wasn’t in it enough. He turned up and then he went through the veil.” After Oldman’s first appearance in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, he made a cameo in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and showed up in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, where he was killed off. He made another cameo in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, but all in all, not a lot of screen time for the Academy Award-winning actor.

With the upcoming Harry Potter TV series, there’s room for more Sirius Black, and while Oldman isn’t expecting to reprise the role, he would be open to another. “I would bet my money...

Gary Oldman (Sirius Black) contemplates playing Dumbledore in new Harry Potter show
Gary Oldman
Gary Oldman played Harry's godfather Sirius Black in the Harry Potter movies. However, the actor doesn't seem done with the Wizarding World just yet. With HBO making a Harry Potter TV adaptation with a 10-year commitment to completing the series, Oldman has expressed interest in getting involved.

The announcement of a Harry Potter TV show earlier this year received a mixed reception. There's already eight fantastic movies, right? On the other hand, a TV show allows for a much more thorough adaptation of the books. The writers are not held back by the limited duration of a movie. Several former cast members have voiced their support of the upcoming series, from Daniel Radcliffe (Harry) to Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley).

Now, Gary Oldman has revealed that he's totally down to jump back into the Wizarding World. While it's hard to imagine anyone else playing Sirius, Oldman isn't expecting a call to reprise his old role.

Warner Bros. is adapting Harry Potter into a TV series tentatively set to premiere in 2026. So far, there are no details about the upcoming cast or if the original stars will be attached to the project, but one actor has pitched a tentative return.

As the focus lies on who will be the next child stars to take over from Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, there are many questions about who will play the adult actors, too. Speaking to IndieWire while attending the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, Gary Oldman showed his interest in the reboot. The actor, who played Sirius Black, revealed that his character didn't appear much in the eight films and he could attempt a new beloved character.

Harry Potter Movies Star Pitches Their TV Show Return As Different Character: Wasnt In It Enough
Image
Gary Oldman pitches his return as a new character in the upcoming Harry Potter HBO TV series. Adapting the books by J.K. Rowling, the first Harry Potter movie was released in 2001, with Oldman eventually making his franchise debut as Sirius Black in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004). Oldman's Black would meet an untimely end in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007), a plot point that is sure to be recreated in Harry Potter HBO TV series, which is set to release on the streamer next year.

While attending the 76th Primetime Emmys, IndieWire asked Oldman about his potential return as Black in the Harry Potter TV show. While the actor doesn't anticipate he will be reprising his role, he does reveal that he has an enduring affection for Black, and that he believes the character may have been underutilized:

Stephen Colbert Kept Cool After Howard Stern Harshly Asked About CBS' Plan To Replace Him With James Corden
Image
Stephen Colbert has been praised for his respectful conduct toward female guests. Although there was that time he made Serena Williams uncomfortable after toasting against her religion, The Late Show host has established himself as the complete opposite of his pal, Howard Stern. So when Stephen came on the latter's show in 2018, fans were curious how he'd respond to the host's shock value questions.

Howard didn't hold back on grilling Stephen. The Sirius Xm broadcaster immediately asked the late-night star about his ratings. It then led to him bringing up rumors that The Late Late Show's James Corden was replacing the David Letterman successor. But Stephen didn't give in to the bait. James apparently CBS' most unpopular late show host had also denied the speculations, two years before the interview. Here's what happened between the three.

Cody Rhodes' Reign as WWE Champion Is Nothing Short of Great, and Here Is What Critics Are Missing

"We Want Cody" movement united fans, elevating Cody's championship reign with potential for greatness. Cody Rhodes honored his indie wrestling time in title defenses, paying homage to past rivalries Long-term storytelling intertwines Cody's narrative with Roman Reigns, setting the stage for future clashes.

This year has seen emotions towards Cody Rhodes run a gauntlet of highs and lows, unlike anything he has faced since returning to WWE in 2022. Some fans have been questioning if Cody Rhodes has been a good WWE Champion in the relatively short time he's had with the company's main title, and while some of the criticism is understandable, his reign has already all the signs of greatness. Starting the year by eliminating Cm Punk to win the Men's Royal Rumble Match in January, becoming only the fourth man to ever win the event back-to-back, it's hard to see anything but great storytelling that honors all parts of his lore.
