I love coming of age stories because, if well written, it reminds us of a time of raw emotions and how we relate to those emotions throughout our lives.
This series is set in Colombia and it was amazing to see and learn about the Colombian lifestyle (very different from US high school/context that we are used to) with great atmosphere of the 70s. I'm from Brazil and I could relate to the school "ambiance", after school activities, the bus, their homes, how a group could have a high, middle and lower class together and loving each other. I guess lots of Latinos will like to see this on screen.
The show correlates how some themes that are common now could not even be spoken about in the 70s and that comparison really gets you questioning if things have changed in a positive way.
The script is superb! I remember reading great books by big authors that the series mention and by every one it would change my perspective on life, much like what Camilo experiences. That made me very nostalgic and reminded me how much I used to love to learn and be open to new concepts.
It's mostly about "teenage drama" and you gotta be ok with that. However, the themes and how they present this is extremely entertaining! The camera angles, colors, soundtrack, great dialogue and acting will hook you.
I watched season 1 and 2 very quickly. Season 2 is even better than the first, it's a tapestry of life. Can't wait for season 3!

THE GOOD: the cast is great, makes you love the characters or hate them, loved the scenery and clothing, the narrative based on literature is amazing, the social and political messages are well-delivered. Also, for a Colombian production, the art direction is innovative (current compared to international prod).
THE BAD: the quality of the narrative falls in the last episodes of season 1, as if the story was hurried. The last adventures were as if it was a cartoon series with a unconnected adventures each day.
THE CRITIQUES: contrary to other critiques, this series is not perfect or innovative, but it is a well-developped production in the Colombian (not Columbian) context, meaning, you can't compare it to US prod. On the other hand, Eva is not supposed to be a realistic character in the 70's, the purpose of this series is to deliver social messages, that's the creative part which doesn't affect negatively its quality.

One of the best shows if not the best I've seen in my life, the script, the photography and all the elements are just so good! The director and everyone involved in this show has a clear image of Colombia and how they want to portray it. I'm so happy and I'm so proud that there's a show like this. Funny dramatic and it's just fantastic! Everyone has to see it.
It's so well put together and it really shows Colombian culture in a nutshell. Well done! And I can't wait to see more of this show or more like this! It's definitely an 11/10.
It really shows how creative the director is by the camera angles and colours. It's so much fun. If you haven't watched it yet.. what are you waiting for?

The scenery and costumes are spectacular, they totally transport you to the 70's. The series touches on issues such as feminism and sexuality in a very organic way that is very innovative for the context of the time. However, sometimes the series fails because of its simplicity and the easy way in which problems are solved. In the same way, it can feel repetitive. The way in which he uses literature and philosophy as a tool to question the order of the time mixed with the history of Colombia and the context of the time makes it very interesting.
