Honest Trailers goes back to where it all began with a new video about Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace's legacy.
The video arrives in celebration of The Phantom Menace's 25th anniversary, marking the second video Screen Junkies made about this film since its very first Honest Trailer poked fun at The Phantom Menace's 3D re-release in 2012. However, where that video was more openly scathing, this new Honest Trailer offers a slightly more even-handed look at the prequel film's flaws and accomplishments, attributing its retroactive appreciation to nostalgia, sequel trilogy criticism, and a love of supplementary prequel material.

The bad news continues for Rebel Moon: Part Two: The Scargiver as negative reviews and declining viewership potentially derail the space opera film series' future. Now, Honest Trailers piles on the misery with a roasting of Zack Snyder's latest Netflix project.
Via YouTube, Honest Trailers released a fun and scathing takedown of The Scargiver, which made its Netflix premiere on Apr. 19. In the satire trailer, the movie is renamed Harvest Moon 2: Pain and Grain, mocking its many harvesting scenes and emphasis on grain in the story. Additionally, the trailer plays around with some of the characters' names, including Sofia Boutella's Kora, who's branded the "kid shooter" rather than The Scargiver, given she shoots a child in a scene, and Michael Huisman's Gunnar, her "pet goner."

Madame Web gets some shade thrown at it, as the newest Honest Trailers video skewers the project.
The video begins with narrator Jon Bailey saying that Madame Web is from "a screenwriting duo making a good case for A.I." and the studio that thought audiences would pay for Morbius twice, followed by him calling Madame Web "Sony's latest spinoff to put the S and M back in Spider-Man." Later, after joking to viewers that Peter Parker started off life as a baby, Bailey tells them to "switch gears" for a baffling prequel about saving three teenagers --Julia Cornwall, Mattie Franklin and Anya Corazon -- from Ezekiel Sims, who Bailey calls "Peruvian Man," due to him "[dreaming] that, one day, they'd all be in a comic book movie together."

It’s Oscars week, which means another edition of “Honest Trailers” taking on the 10 nominees for Best Picture. “Honest Trailers” from Screen Junkies is a web series that lampoons films in the form of parody trailers. Zack Snyder’s upcoming Army of the Dead features a zombified tiger, but the film almost had a whole zombified zoo.
“Along with thinking, organized zombies, Zack Snyder’s living mercenaries in the upcoming Army of the Dead will have to deal with at least one undead white tiger as they venture into the overrun ruins of Las Vegas in search of $200 million dollars stashed in an abandoned casino. The idea of an army of zombies having an inexhaustible tiger among their ranks is alarming enough, but according to director Snyder, at one point he decided to go a bit bigger.”

How are we supposed to live without Michael Bolton and Zooey Deschanel? Turns out we won’t have to. Bolton and Deschanel have signed on to host “The Celebrity Dating Game,” a new take on the format that has been picked up by ABC for eight one-hour episodes.

Normally, when the folks at Screen Junkies lampoon a film for the hugely popular Honest Trailers bit, those movies are already pretty terrible (“Venom”), or, at the very least, the ridiculed films are too popular to pass up (“Avengers: Endgame”). But with the latest Honest Trailers entry, the Screen Junkies have decided to tackle a film that is often regarded as one of the very best ever — Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining.”

Watch the Screen Junkies amusingly poke fun at Arnold Schwarzenegger’s classic 1990 sci-fi film Total Recall in their latest episode of Honest Trailers.
I remember the first time I saw this film. I was at the drive-in movies with my cousins and my Grandma. We weren’t there to watch Total Recall, I don’t even remember the film we went there to see, but my cousins and I started watching one of the screens on the other side of the drive-in lot and saw a crazy cool looking movie playing! That movie was Total Recall, and we snuck off to go watch that one instead. That was a great night! We certainly weren’t expecting to see a woman with three breasts that night!
Anyway, enjoy the Honest Trailer for the film below and let us know if you remember the first time you saw Total Recall!

The Screen Junkies are back with another episode of Honest Trailers and this one dives into and takes shots at Marvel’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, and how the story of Spider-Man going on vacation seems like it should be something on Disney+.
While fans like myself enjoyed the hell out of Far From Home, this Honest Trailer points out some amusing things to think about as it compares certain aspects of it to other films as well as to other pop culture references. I especially thought it was funny when it points out that Mary Jane is the Ya reboot of SNL’s Debbie Downer. I also liked how they described Mysterio as “a fishbowl with haunted house powers.”
Anyway, the Honest Trailer makes some funny yet very valid points about the film. Check it out below and tell us what you think.

The team over at Screen Junkies has released a new episode of Honest Trailers and this one sets its sights on Disney’s recent live-action remake of Aladdin. Out of all of the live-action remakes that Disney has made over the past few years, Aladdin was one of the better and more entertaining ones. I actually kinda enjoyed it and this Honest Trailer recognizes that, saying, “As far as soulless cash grabs go, this one is clumsily entertaining.” However, the video does go on to point out and joke around about certain silly aspects of the film and takes some amusing digs at it.

With It: Chapter 2 opening in theaters this weekend, Screen Junkies decided to release an episode of Honest Trailers that has some fun with the classic 1990 TV miniseries.
I grew up on that TV version of Stephen King’s iconic book. It wasn’t perfect, a lot of stuff from the book was cut out, and it ended with a terrible looking giant alien spider. But damn… Tim Curry was awesome as Pennywise The Clown and it sure was a ton of fun to watch.
While I enjoyed the new films, this series will always have a special place in my heart because it scared the living shit out of me and my brothers when we were kids.

“Strap in for two loooong hours of non-stop kaiju hijinks.”
Screen Junkies has released a new episode of Honest Trailers that has some fun ripping into Godzilla: King of the Monsters. While I enjoyed the movie, it definitely wasn’t without its problems. This video points out how the monsters are always fighting in the dark, bad weather, and debris so we never really get a clear shot of them fighting, because “Godzilla forbid, we see a monster fight on a clear sunny day.”
The video also digs into the terrible plot of the film that we’ve seen for the millionth time “where the villain wants to destroy humanity in order to save the Earth.” Then, of course, there’s the human characters in the movie that no one was interested in or cared about.

The latest edition of Honest Trailers is here to take on Avengers: Endgame, and they've left no Infinity Stone unturned in their quest to (lovingly) rip the biggest movie of all time a new one. While the team behind the series clearly has some love for Marvel's epic conclusion to the Infinity Saga, they also have more than a few bones to pick with the follow-up to Infinity War. Joe and Anthony Russo may have directed an immensely successful crowd-pleaser, but nothing is perfect.
The video kicks off by pointing out that Avengers: Endgame is a whole lot more than the conclusion it was set up to be. It's the end of Phase 3, sets the table for Phase 4, puts the pieces of the puzzle in place for upcoming Disney+ shows and so much more. They then discuss how the five years that have passed since Infinity War have changed things,...

I’m sure you all remember Kevin Costner’s Waterworld! The movie had a budget of $175 million, which for its time in 1995, was an insane amount of money to spend on a film. It’s still is! The movie bombed at the box office with only making $88 million domestically.
The Mad Max on water concept just didn’t seem to connect with audiences and this latest edition of Honest Trailers hilariously points out all of the reasons why. This was definitely not Kevin Costner’s finest hour as an actor, but he sure is good with rope stuff!

Andy Signore, the creator of Screen Junkies’ Emmy-nominated Honest Trailers YouTube series -- who was fired from now-defunct parent company Defy Media in Oct. 2017 amid allegations of sexual misconduct -- has settled a countersuit that he filed against Defy in the wake of his termination.
Before its shuttering, Defy fired Signore in 2017, citing “egregious and intolerable behavior.” At the time, one accuser claimed that Signore “took out sex toys and tried to force them in me.” In response, Signore sued Defy last August for breach of contract and negligent infliction of emotional distress, and also claimed that Defy fostered a “culture of profanity and obscenity.” On Monday, Signore’s attorney dismissed the suit, Variety reports, following a notice of settlement. The terms were not disclosed.

The latest edition is here to take on the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe in honor of its landmark 300th episode. The Screen Junkies gang has taken on various movies set within the McU before, such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Infinity War and, most recently, Captain Marvel. This time around, they've left no stone unturned in their journey to, with equal parts love and truthfulness, send up the most popular brand in cinematic entertainment.
First off, the episode is much longer than the usual installments, clocking in at a little over nine minutes. But that gives them plenty of time to, rather thoroughly, go through the history of this cinematic journey and tackle each and every major issue with it. To start, they give a little history lesson which, for those who don't know, involved Marvel selling off the rights to their most popular characters to several Hollywood studios, leaving...

After every geek-friendly movie release comes two must-watch videos on YouTube: How It Should Have Ended, the recurring video series in which a group of skilled animators imagine alternate finales to their favorite films, and Honest Trailers.
The latter is a Screen Junkies production covering everything from Glass to Con Air – hell, even the Keanu Reeves action classic Speed made its way onto the list not so long ago. And now, to mark Captain Marvel‘s Blu-ray release, Screen Junkies has turned its attention to the standalone superhero epic.
It’s the 21st installment in Marvel’s cinematic juggernaut and the first to feature Brie Larson in a starring role. It certainly won’t be the last, either, given there’ve been rumblings that Larson has already committed to a multi-picture contract big enough to rival even Robert Downey Jr.’s, whose time headlining the McU has well and truly come to an end.

Captain Marvel is loved and hated equally by Marvel movie fans, which seems to be the ultimate take on this McU adventure as it goes under the Honest Trailers microscope. They call out the movie for all of its 90s references, and hack on Brie Larson for her lack of emotion as Carol Danvers, but they never go all the way to bash the epic sci-fi adventure, leaving that to the trolls who have tried to torpedo the so-so movie from the get-go.
Honest Trailers is careful not to hurt anyone's feelings when it comes to discussing Captain Marvel. They aren't necessarily playing nice, either, as they've done with some of the more divisive fan films in recent memory. They sum the whole experience up best when they call it the disappointing meat in an Infinity War sandwich. Fair enough.
Avengers: Endgame brought Marvel Phase 3 to a close after eleven years and twenty-two movies.

Nicolas Cage’s 1997 film Con Air is easily one of my favorite action films from the 90s. I love that flick, I still enjoy watching it! It was just such a great and entertaining film. We just don’t see movies like this anymore.
In the story, Cage plays a prisoner on board of a transfer plane that happens to be transporting some of the most deadly criminals in the world. Cage’s character, Cameron Poe, is being released and he just wants to get home for his daughters birthday. Unfortunately, the prisoners hijack the plane and he has to stop them from escaping.
The movie has such a wonderfully ridiculous premise, but it’s staked with an awesome cast that includes John Malkovich, John Cusack, Mykelti Williamson, Ving Rhames, Steve Buscemi, Danny Trejo, Dave Chappelle, M.C. Gainey, and Colm Meaney.

“He’ll yell you into a frenzy, he’ll stare you into his bed, and he will rock you.”
Braveheart has been at the top of my favorite movie list ever since it was released in 1995. I watched this movie a ridiculous amount of times in theaters and I preordered the 2-tape VHS at the Suncoast Motion Picture Company. You remember Suncoast?
Anyway, the latest episode of Honest Trailers takes on Braveheart and it turned out pretty hilarious. Yeah, Braveheart is one of my favorite films ever, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy laughing at certain aspects of it that are pointed out in this video. As the video points out, you forgive all of the movies flaws because “it gets you pumped every single time.”
Enjoy the Honest Trailer for Braveheart below and let us know what you think!

It’s summer blockbuster season, and Screen Junkies is taking advantage of it by bringing forth a series of Honest Trailers looking back at some of the biggest movies from years ago. The 1986 film Howard The Duck has become a cult classic since it was released. The film is absolutely terrible, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have its fans. This is one of those films that I just can’t sit through these days.
With Howard the Duck being the classically bad film that it is, it’s hard to believe that it’s taken the Screen Junkies so long give us an Honest Trailer for the film. But, it’s here now and it’s pretty damn funny.
In the film, Howard the Duck is “suddenly beamed from Duckworld, a planet of intelligent ducks with arms and legs, to Earth, where he lands in Cleveland. There he saves rocker Beverly (Lea Thompson) from thugs and forms a friendship with her. She introduces him to Phil (Tim Robbins), who works at a lab with scientist Dr. Jenning (Jeffrey Jones...

Peter Jackson’s adaptation of the Mortal Engines didn’t really do too well and was torn apart by most critics. I actually enjoyed the film regardless of its issues. It had some great imagery, and I thought that it was a very different and unique film.
I liked it for what it was. Was it perfect? Absolutely not. Was it filled with all kinds of strange and weird elements that deserve to be torn apart in this new episode of Honest Trailers? Absolutely, and they sure to have some fun with it.
One of the things that they drive home is the fact that in reality, the film is a harrowing game of Hungry Hungry Hippos. They point out a lot of other things that are sure to give you laugh.
What did you all think of Mortal Engines after you saw it?...

In my opinion, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was the best film released in 2018. There are a lot of fans out there who will agree with me on that, but that doesn’t mean Screen Junkies can’t joke around and have some fun with it in their latest episode of Honest Trailers!
The film not only told a great story, but the whole art and animation style of it was super freakin’ cool! So while it was hard to say anything abad about the movie, the Honest Trailer still does something fun that you’ll get a kick out of.
The narrator of the video decides to push some random buttons in his recording booth to pass the time, and this leads to Honest Trailers narrators from other dimensions to show up! It’s got Epic Geek Girl, Epic Dungeon Master, Epic Telenovela Woman, and Australian Voice Guy.

Aquaman goes from the comic pages of yore into the CGI universe of now with actor Jason Momoa bringing the DC comic character to life. The Honest Trailer certainly has some key Momoa moments in it as well as poking fun at a host of other scenes from the film.
The Honest Trailer is over five minutes long, so there is plenty of time to bask in the visual feast of the overall production of Aquaman. The youtube piece starts off with some massive scenes that seem to shake the narrator to the point of him asking, "What is happening?"

The video cuts to a scene from an original old school cartoon, where Aquaman says "My ability to talk to fish is of no use Wonder Woman." Wonder Woman is not impressed. Then they bring in the movie hero Jason Momoa in the lastest and biggest ever portrayal of the comic book Icon.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald was not met with a very positive reception from the Harry Potter fans. I think I enjoyed the film more than most people, but I’ll admit that it still did drop the ball on some things.
Screen Junkies has released a new episode of Honest Trailers and it points out how this movie ended up sucking all of the fun out of the Harry Potter franchise and the grimness of it all. It makes some great points that are hard to argue with even if you did like the movie.
It’s taking the franchise down a dark and fantastically depressing path. But, I’d like to believe that there is still a light at the end of the tunnel and curious to see how the third Fantastic Beasts film ends up turning out.

“So if you like entertaining slasher films that don’t take themselves too seriously, with enough twists to keep you guessing, maybe check out Happy Death Day. There, is that enough for you?!”
I’ve watched a lot of Honest Trailers in my day, and I think this is one of my favorites. It does something fun and different to go along with the theme of the movie and has all the same funny insights and quips as usual. And as Honest Trailers usually point out all the missteps of movies, and the weak and dumb plot points or bad acting, they don’t usually convince me to want to watch a movie I haven’t seen. Especially a horror movie! But this one actually does make me want to watch it. Plus, it doesn’t give away the whole ending. So whether you’ve seen Happy Death Day or not,...

The latest version of Honest Trailers is taking on The Predator and the Emmy-nominated YouTube series doesn't have much in the way of kind words for this long-awaited sequel. It had been nearly a decade since we had last seen the legendary hunters on the big screen prior to last year's sequel/reboot, as directed by Shane Black. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite the glorious return that sci-fi lovers were hoping that it possibly was going to be. The movie does have its defenders, but the Honest Trailer gang isn't amongst them.
As this Honest Trailer points out, both The Terminator and Alien franchises are hanging on by a thread, it was time to try and give this beloved sci-fi series an update. They then quickly point out that the movie did not meet the expectations many viewers had for it. Every single movie since the original has been trying to recapture that same magic but,...

Proving that no feature film is immune to the Honest Trailers treatment, the good folks over at Screen Junkies have turned their attention to Halloween, the 2018 sequel from Blumhouse and director David Gordon Green.
By and large, Michael Myers’ long-anticipated return was a resounding success, given Halloween earned rave reviews and a healthy $253 million at the global box office. It’s not enough to set the world on fire, but for an R-rated trip down memory lane, Green’s sequel ticked all the right boxes – that is, until Screen Junkies claimed their next victim as part of the ongoing (and frankly hilarious) Honest Trailers video series.
Here’s a snippet:
After nine sequels and reboots that ranged from ‘meh’ to ‘please kill meh’, only one creative team can restore the Halloween franchise to its former glory: Kenny Powers and the director of Your Highness.

While you all wait to see Glass later this month, take a look back at M. Night Shyamalan’s classic superhero film Unbreakable in this new episode of Honest Trailers from Screen Junkies.
The Honest Trailer amusingly points out some awkward and strange aspects of the film like some of the dialogue, all the long pauses that Bruce Willis makes when he’s delivering his dialogue, and of course all of the intense stares in the film, “because sometimes all it takes to tell an epic story is the power of stares.”
The video makes some funny observations, but Unbreakable is still one of my favorite Shyamalan movies! I also loved Glass!

I was personally disappointed in Venom, but a lot of fans actually enjoyed it, and the video below even points out that it made a shit-ton of money. They also make a good point of saying that “sometimes it’s fun just to watch a movie that’s just a movie.”...

“Venom” is a film that shocked everyone when it was released in October. Even the harshest critics were taken aback by the sheer weirdness that Tom Hardy brought to the title character. It’s a film that people either love or hate, with really not much in between. And it’s that type of polarizing film that makes for the best Honest Trailers.
As you might expect, the release of the “Venom” Blu-ray coincided with the folks over at Screen Junkies doing their Honest Trailer for Sony’s superhero film.

The latest episode of Honest Trailers is here to take on one of 2018's most unlikely box office hits, Venom. It would have been nearly impossible to predict just how successful Sony's first Spider-Man spin-off movie, which takes place outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and doesn't feature Spider-Man in it, would become. But director Ruben Fleischer delivered a crowd pleaser. Though, it's a crowd pleaser that has its fair share of problems.
We kick off with a nice jab from the voiceover guy calling Sony "the studio that Marvel lets play with their toys." The trailer rightfully points out that a great many fans of Marvel Comics, specifically Spider-Man comics, had been wanting to see Venom on screen for a very long time. That is, until we got the regrettable Topher Grace version in Spider-Man 3. But this is the "gnarly, sick and tight" version of the character...

It was only a matter of time before the newest ‘Mission: Impossible‘ installment got the Honest Trailers treatment, and for such a ludicrous (and ludicrously fun) action blockbuster franchise, it seems like they held some punches on this one.
Perhaps unexpectedly for one of the best reviewed action films of the year, “Mission: Impossible – Fallout’s” Honest Trailer sounds more like it’s slyly praising the blockbuster more than cynically picking and tearing it to shreds like most Honest Trailers do.

The latest episode of Honest Trailers puts the heat on Mission: Impossible - Fallout, and this might be one of the best ones that they’ve released in awhile. It’s pretty damn funny.
The promo pokes fun at the fact that one day Tom Cruise will probably die making one of these movies by trying to pull off a crazy-ass stunt. It also jokes about how no one really knows what in the hell is going on, points out characters from past Mission: Impossible films have just disappeared, and also compares aspects of the movie to other films like Star Trek and The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.
Anyway, this is an entertaining Honest Trailer, and I hope you enjoy it!
