Cher broke out one of her best musical bits last night at the annual Love Rocks NYC benefit concert, taking the stage dressed as Elvis Presley to perform Marc Cohn’s “Walking in Memphis.”
Donning a pristine Presley pompadour wig and a pink shirt with a massive collar, Cher delivered a pristine performance of the 1991 classic as part of her three-song set (which also included “(This Is) A Song for the Lonely” and “Believe”). Cher famously recorded a version of “Walking in Memphis” for her 1995 album, It’s a Man’s World,...

If nothing else, you can at least make the case that Netflix viewers have a certain kind of diverse taste. While the current situation is pretty dire, with Cameron Diaz's first movie in 11 years dominating the Netflix charts despite terrible reviews, last year we saw the director of "Green Room" top the same charts with the excellent action thriller "Rebel Ridge." Likewise, movies such as Kevin Hart's "Lift" enjoy baffling success on the streamer but so too do stellar sci-fi epics directed by Christopher Nolan, such as when "Interstellar" topped the Netflix charts to start 2025.
In all, then, Netflix is an infinitely fascinating yet confounding landscape -- one that's populated by the kind of streaming slop responsible for watering down the entire concept of moviemaking, yet also capable of exposing global audiences to Academy Award nominated films such as the Spanish drama "Society of the Snow." Now, the...

Underdog sports movies have slowly died down after they became such a huge sensation in the early 2000s. The reason, of course, is the narrative structure that said films follow. There’s always the hero’s journey somewhere in there while also being about the characters who shape the story for them. With time, the trope of this underdog became redundant, but few films every now and then were able to reconfigure or at least reaffirm why such stories are always important. They are rousing, relatable and inspiring. They give us hope in times when we find ourselves corned by our big ambitions. Ty Roberts’ “You Gotta Believe” is not one of those movies, though.
I mean, it does have all the usual tropes that you find in such films. It stars Luke Wilson and Greg Kinner as the co-coaches and dads of kids who are part of a little league baseball team.

“White Christmas” White Christmas
The song that sparked a thousand dreams — “White Christmas” — is a holiday classic for a reason. The 1954 film follows two former soldiers turned entertainers. Bob Wallace (Bing Crosby) and Phil Davis (Danny Kaye) join a talent sister act, Betty (Rosemary Clooney) and Judy Haynes (Vera-Ellen), to perform a Christmas show in upstate Vermont. The foursome reunite with the boys’ former General to save his holiday inn.

The Polar Express is somewhat of a modern Christmas staple, driven by an expansive soundtrack of original and pre-existing songs, and here is when each one plays in the movie. Although there are some harsh realities of watching The Polar Express 20 years after its original release, such as the uncanny valley aspect of the film's CGI main characters, the film remains one that successfully conveys the magic of Christmas. The reason for this is The Polar Express' overall feeling of warmth and heart, which enables it to be one of the best Santa Claus movies two decades later.
This, combined with The Polar Express' strong voice cast that is spearheaded by Tom Hanks in several roles, makes the film one of the few post-2000s Christmas movies to be solidified as a classic. This has even led to the development of The Polar Express 2, with many hoping the potential...

Snoop Dogg made a surprise appearance at Jelly Roll’s Beautifully Broken Tour stop at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville Tuesday night, joining the country star to debut a collaboration off Snoop’s upcoming album Missionary.
The song, “Last Dance With Mary Jane,” interpolates Tom Petty’s 1993 classic “Mary Jane’s Last Dance,” and unsurprisingly reflects Snoop’s longtime affinity for marijuana. Jelly takes a verse of his own on the song while also singing the chorus featured on Petty’s original version.

After dominating the pop and country charts since 2019, Morgan Wallen picked up his first entertainer of the year honor at the 2024 CMA Awards, though he wasn’t there to accept it.
The country star beat out last year’s winner, Lainey Wilson, as well as Luke Combs, Jelly Roll and Chris Stapleton, who won multiple honors Wednesday. Jeff Bridges presented the final award of the night, which comes weeks after Wallen earned his first pair of Grammy nominations.
Though Wallen missed the show, Stapleton was the big winner: He took home single, song and male vocalist of the year. He also opened the three-hour event alongside Post Malone with their collaboration, “California Sober,” sang “Honky Tonk Hall of Fame” with George Strait — who earned the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award — and strummed his guitar while staring at his wife, Morgane Stapleton, as they performed “What Am I Gonna Do.”

Morgan Wallen went into the 58th annual CMA Awards as the leading contender, with seven nominations. He won only one of those, but it was the prize he most would have wanted: entertainer of the year. Or we can assume so, since Wallen was the only no-show among the night’s big nominees.
The 2024 CMAs’ other multiple winners were Chris Stapleton, who picked up three trophies, and show co-host Lainey Wilson (last year’s entertainer of the year winner), who got two.
Others being awarded honors on the ABC telecast included Cody Johnson, Megan Moroney, Old Dominion and — in perhaps the night’s biggest upset — Brooks & Dunn, who won duo of the year for the 15 time… the first time in 18 years.
According to the Country Music Association, Stapleton and Brooks & Dunn are now tied for the most CMA wins ever, with 19 each.

Coheed and Cambria have announced a new album titled The Father of Make Believe, set for release on March 14th. The band has also unveiled the new single “Searching for Tomorrow.”
The Father of Make Believe continues the story of the “Amory Wars / Vaxis” universe following the 2022 album Vaxis Act II: A Window of the Waking Mind,
According to a press release, “One way to look at The Father of Make Believe is Coheed and Cambria establishing a desire to move forward while honoring a remarkable history. Brooks & Dunn haven’t released an album of new material since 2007’s Cowboy Town, but when you have a catalog as impressive as theirs, it can be okay to coast on past glories. Especially when many of today’s hottest artists — Lainey Wilson, Morgan Wallen, Jelly Roll — are willing to sing the old hits. That’s the premise of Reboot II, a sequel to 2019’s Reboot, which assembles 18 Nashville stars to put their own spin on songs like “Neon Moon,” “Believe,” and “Hillbilly Deluxe,” with an assist from B&d themselves.

Interview with the Vampire is one of the most popular and beloved vampire movies, and though there was material for a sequel, Tom Cruise was right in not returning and thus stalling a sequel but, at the same time, he doomed the franchise. Vampires are some of the most popular creatures in horror, and they continue to be a source of inspiration for many artists. In literature, one of the most successful writers in the vampire genre is Anne Rice, who, in 1976, brought the novel Interview with the Vampire.

Jason Sudeikis is giving a belated response to people who criticized “Ted Lasso” Season 3, and basically, if you didn’t like it, he thinks you’re living your life wrong.
TVLine picked up quotes published in the new oral history of “Ted Lasso” by Jeremy Egner called “Believe,” in which Sudeikis, the Apple TV+ soccer comedy’s co-creator, star, and executive producer, discussed the negative responses to Season 3 from fans and critics alike. The season was frequently criticized for being bloated and overextended, with storylines too widely diffused, and overly precious with its characters, many of whom weren’t allowed to do anything wrong.
“Much like live theater, the show, especially Season 3, was asking the audience to be an active participant,” Sudeikis was quoted as saying of the naysayers. “Some people want to do that, some people don’t. Some people want to judge — they don’t want to be curious.

“Much like live theater, the show, especially Season 3, was asking the audience to be an active participant,” Sudeikis was quoted as saying of the naysayers. “Some people want to do that, some people don’t. Some people want to judge — they don’t want to be curious.

American Idol season 22 finalist Jack Blocker placed third in the reality singing competition behind winner Abi Carter and runner-up Will Moseley, and he's been very busy since this incredible achievement. Jack, a 25-year-old graphic designer from Dallas, Texas, auditioned for the judges--Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan--with his original song, "I Was Wrong." He originally didn't receive a golden ticket to Hollywood because both Katy and Lionel said no, overriding Luke's yes. However, Luke then asked the crew to vote, and, when many of them said yes, Lionel changed his vote, and Jack went to Hollywood.

Backstage at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, Cher confirmed that she had once declared she “didn’t give a flying fuck if I got in.” But if the pop superstar (pictured above in an opening duet of “Believe” with Dua Lipa) found her way toward being completely glee about the Saturday night occasion, who else was going to be in anything less than full-on Thanksgiving mode?
Every Rock Hall of Fame induction ceremony has its own distinctive vibe. And during the 2024 event, a marathon five-and-a-half hour concert at Cleveland’s sold-out Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, gratitude was the prevailing theme from presenters, performers and inductees alike.
With one exception that was not Cher, there was almost no infighting or drama leading up to (or at) the ceremony, and the event itself focused on the artists and music. The special guests and collaborators felt well-matched, and the presenters — including...

The stars were out for Saturday’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which included a tribute to the ‘Goddess of Pop’.
Zendaya and Dua Lipa channelled their inner ‘Dark Lady’ on the red carpet as Cher was inducted into the Hall of Fame at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio. Lipa joined the pop music legend in a performance of her 1998 single ‘Believe’, and Zendaya took the stage for her induction, which airs Jan. 1 on ABC.
“Where do I even begin? Cher is not one person. Her name is just as legendary as her legacy,” said the Euphoria star, adding: “Cher has got the goods.”
Cher, who also performed her 1989 hit ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’, said in her speech, “The one thing I got from my mom is to never give up. I never give up. I’m talking to the women — down and out, we keep going.

One Chicago tends to take over on Wednesday nights for a lot of people. What’s on TV tonight, Wednesday, Oct. 16 as CBS continues its premiere week?
Well, for CBS, there isn’t much different tonight compared to previous weeks. The reality shows already started their premieres weeks earlier, and we get new episodes of The Summit and Survivor tonight. So, what about the other networks?
One Chicago Wednesday, The Golden Bachelorette, and more
Of course, for NBC, it’s all about the three One Chicago shows. Things kick off with Chicago Med, but it’s Chicago Fire that we’re keeping a close eye on. Violet makes a decision on a call that could see her fired from the job. EMTs are there to perform the initial emergency treatment and rush to the hospital, not perform C-sections, so it’s not surprising that Violet is potentially going to lose her license.
