1923 Season 2 Episode 4 Explains The Origin Of Yellowstone's Train Station
Image
This article contains spoilers for "1923" season 2, episode 4.

"Yellowstone" failed to address several unanswered questions before the show's fifth and (presumably) final season wrapped up. The good news, though, is that Taylor Sheridan's Western franchise keeps producing spin-offs that fill in some of the blanks regarding those mysteries, with "1923" season 2, episode 4, "Journey the Rivers of Iron," finally explaining the origins of the Dutton family's beloved "train station" dumping ground.

For those who are unfamiliar with "Yellowstone" lore, the train station is a canyon located in an unpopulated county between Montana and Wyoming. With no people around, it's the perfect place to dispose of the bodies of the countless folks who've paid for crossing the Dutton family and getting in the way of its interests. "Yellowstone" establishes that the Duttons have used the spot for generations -- but they weren't the first individuals to discover it.

"1923" reveals that the...

The Fall - New Facts Emerge (Cherry Red)

For a band that has existed around the spiteful and brooding presence of Mark E. Smith for over thirty albums and forty years another release shouldn't pack many surprises but it does. Many have served under his difficult demands, being in The Fall almost a rite of passage, an induction by fire for many a Mancunian musician. Some never fully recuperate from the experience.

At his sneering malevolent best, Smith revolts into style with sublime swagger. The opening "Segue" is a drunken spoons hammering against beer glasses outburst that effortlessly slides into '"Fol De Rol" a guitar driven epic resembling Magazine at their most monochromatic and industrial. European in feel. It could easily pass as John Foxx period Ultravox at their most chillingly Germanic. A searing slab of Metal meets Art Rock. A public image uninhibited. "Brillo De Facto" is more conventional Fall-fare,...

Cwl Championship Day 5: Crowning the Champs
The finale of the biggest Call of Duty Esports season took place on Sunday and the champions were crowned! It'll come as a surprise to no one who won but how they did it may shock you.

Luminosity vs Rise Nation

Kicking off the final day of Cwl Championships would see the semi-final match of the losers bracket, Luminosity vs Rise Nation, going to blows. All week long we talked about the redemption story of Rise and they're fall from grace, early in the tournament, but Luminosity were undergoing that same process. The added layer to this match was that Octane, Slacked, and Classic of LG were previously on Rise. They left Loony by himself for LG. So, for Loony this was as much revenge as it was redemption.

Opening up Game 1, it looked as if Loony was just as motivated as we all assumed he'd be. Rise came out...

Film Review: Rotating Perspectives Converge in ‘Train Station’
Chicago – Taking on the variance of choice in a very unique and compelling way, “Train Station” was interpreted through 40 filmmakers in 25 countries, following a character – The Person in Brown – in a singular story that flexes and changes as the role is exposed. Chicago was one of those filming locations, and “Train Station” will screen here at the Music Box Theatre on Wednesday, February 15, 2017.

Rating: 4.5/5.0

The film begins in a train station, the scheduled stop delayed due to an unforeseen accident outside the station. So begins a jumble of different takes on the character who is waiting, and the stories that occur based on their choices. In one scenario “The Person in Brown” is a young man, another older, another a child, another a woman, with lovers, life partners, friends and total strangers interacting with the person-in-brown on the journey. The result is hypnotic, and highly philosophical – who are we but...

‘Twentyfiveish,’ IndieWire’s September Project of the Month, Builds a Quarter-Life Crisis on a Solid Foundation
#twentyfiveish (2020)
How do you move forward to tell a story about someone in danger of retreating? That’s the big question for the creative team behind “Twentyfiveish,” an upcoming web series selected by IndieWire readers as Project of the Month for September 2016.

However you define “millenial,” there are certain anxieties that come from the uncertainty of the future and the growing pressures to enter adulthood in a predetermined way. That’s the challenge faced by Tucker (Brendan Robinson from “Pretty Little Liars”) on a weekend vacation, when he’s confronted by friends of the past and present.

With a team led by filmmaker Katie Micay and writer/producers Kyle Bown and Jacquelyn Ryan, production is scheduled to get under away in a few short weeks. But this story doesn’t end when shooting wraps. We spoke with Ryan via email about upcoming responsibilities beyond bringing “Twentyfiveish” to a screen.

What’s next for the project?...

‘Tightly Wound’ is an Animated Journey Through a Filmmaker’s Personal Struggle
Sara Hirsh Bordo
Here’s your daily dose of an indie film, web series, TV pilot, what-have-you in progress, as presented by the creators themselves. At the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a project you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

Tightly Wound

Logline: A woman recounts her experience living with chronic pelvic pain – how health professionals have failed her, men have rejected her, and shame, anger, and hatred have plagued her body.

Elevator Pitch:

“Tightly Wound” is a 15-minute, personal essay film about my experience with vaginismus – a pelvic floor condition characterized by involuntary contractions of the pelvic floor muscles causing pain, penetration problems, and inability to have intercourse.

The film opens in a physical therapy session, and then jumps back to the first time I tried to use a tampon and failed. It recounts the frustrating doctors visits,...
