Gunday is a kitschy pseudo-historical depiction of Bangladeshi migrants in Kolkata post the 1971 Bangladeshi war of liberation. Two boys, Bikram and Bala, crawl across the border into Kolkata and become some kind of messianic outlaws. The film glorifies a life of crime to a level of embarrassing exultation until we see the two ‘heroes’(ha ha) constantly on the run from the ‘the law’(as represented by the insanely sane and sensible Irrfan Khan).

But Bikram and Bala, who grow up to be two blobs of brainless brawn played by Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, are no ordinary criminals on the run. They run in slow-motion, sometimes shirtless, most of the time brainless, their biceps and six-packs glistening in hairless glory. They are the Milkha Singhs of the internet generation, meant to eulogize wanton materialism by flaunting their physicality without inhibition or reservation.

They are the greedy generation from before greed was invented.

Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor has found new creative territory as antagonist Danger Lanka in Rohit Shetty’s “Singham Again,” marking a calculated departure from his traditional leading man roles.

The pic marks the fifth entry in Shetty’s popular cop universe. The franchise – initially based on Hari’s 2010 Tamil-language “Singam,” starring Suriya – kicked off with “Singham” (2011) and “Singham Returns” (2014), both centering on Bajirao Singham (Ajay Devgn), a straight-arrow Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dcp) from the Goa-Maharashtra border town of Shivgarh. “Simmba” (2018) shifted focus to Sangram “Simmba” Bhalerao (Ranveer Singh), a corrupt inspector from Singham’s hometown. The Yrf Casting app, which is live now, will enable actors to register their profile details within the app. Registered users will get information about all the upcoming auditions related to theatrical films and streaming projects that the studio will greenlight. "Never and I think no actor should never ever think like that in my opinion. I can never think like that. Which ever point I chose to do which ever film, I have to take ownership. It's very easy to say that success is mine and failure is not. I'm a team player. All my films are mine and ours. There's no me in that.

The last time we say Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor sharing screen space in Gunday neither could get enough of the other. Well now we hear that the two actors, who onscreen bromance was certainly the talk of the town, will most probably be seen together in yet another venture.
