We have another busy week of home entertainment releases on the horizon, as there are over two dozen titles making their way to Blu-ray and DVD this Tuesday. For those of you cult film enthusiasts, you have a lot of options when it comes to adding items to your collections, as Alienator is being resurrected by Scream Factory, Arrow Video is unleashing a special edition set for Madhouse, and Mondo Macabre has given Paul Naschy’s Inquisition an HD overhaul as well.

Let’s be honest. When Nintendo announced the release of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, it was met with a less than stellar response. After all, technially this “new” Nintendo Switch game is anything but new… Instead the Switch iteration is a port of the existing Wii U game, with a few new bells and whistles and a boat-load of Dlc included from the get go. Surely nothing to rave about right?

Wrong.

This new Nintendo Switch iteration is The definitive version of Mario Kart 8; and best of all the game is really suited to the Switch, especially single player handheld, plus it just looks damn good on the Switch’s screen. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also includes all 16 Dlc tracks and all 36 characters from the Wii U version… And there are new characters joining the roster too: Inkling Boy and Inkling Girl from Splatoon, King Boo, Dry Bones, and Bowser Jr.

Nintendo has released a brand new overview trailer for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe today that provides a rundown of all the content that’ll be available on the Nintendo Switch rerelease on launch day. The practice of porting existing titles to new hardware is one that’s often been hit and miss, but this particular migration is certainly shaping up to be one worthy of your attention.

Along with featuring all Dlc released for the Wii U version, Deluxe will introduce its own slew of new faces, including the previously announced Bowser Jr., Inkling Boy/Girl, Dry Bones and King Boo. All of the new additions will bring the total character tally up to an eye-watering 42, with a brand new contender, Gold Mario also revealed. By the looks of it, Mario’s gilded self won’t be selectable by default, and will instead be unlocked upon completion of all tracks in 200cc mode.

Nintendo announced today that the new Nintendo Switch system will launch worldwide on March 3rd at a suggested retail price of $299.99 in the United States. The system will include the main console, Joy-Con (L) and Joy-Con (R) controllers, a Joy-Con grip (to which two Joy-Con are attached and used as one controller), a set of Joy-Con wrist straps, a Nintendo Switch dock (which holds the main console and connects it to a TV), an Hdmi cable and an AC adapter. Two stylish versions of the system will be released: a version with a set of gray Joy-Con, and a version with one neon blue and one neon red Joy-Con. Both versions will be the same price. Indie film company Slaughtered Lamb Productions has released the first set of stills from Killer Rack, a horror comedy shooting at the Pierce Arrow Film Arts Center in Buffalo, New York. Check 'em out right here!

The film, written by Paul McGinnis, is directed by Gregory Lamberson (Slime City Massacre, Dry Bones) and is co-produced by Lamberson, McGinnis, and Rod Durick (Filming the Undead: How to Make Your Own Zombie Movie).

Newcomer Jessica Zwolak stars as Betty, a young woman who discovers her new breast implants are man-eating monsters. Debbie Rochon co-stars as Dr. Cate Thulu, Lloyd Kaufman plays psychiatrist Howard Foin, and Brooke Lewis voices the titular monsters.

Back in early May we debuted some exclusive images from "Gave Up the Ghost," one of the segments in Creepers aka Horror Anthology Movie Vol. 2, and now we're back with the short film's trailer and a new still.

Author and filmmaker Gregory Lamberson (The Julian Year, Dry Bones) has released the trailer for "Gave Up the Ghost," a twenty-minute short film that fellow novelist Jeff Strand (Pressure, Dweller) adapted for the screen from his own story.

The short will screen at film festivals beginning this fall and will be released as part of Reel Progress’ anthology Creepers, executive produced by Mike T. Lyddon. The anthology will be comprised of adaptations of literary horror stories. Lyddon adapted Joe Lansdale’s tale “By the Hair of the Head” for the feature, and additional segments include adaptations of Edgar Allan Poe’s “Berenice” and Lafacdio Hearn’s “Promise Broken.

Fr Productions has released the teaser trailer for its upcoming action horror thriller Dick Johnson & Tommygun vs. The Cannibal Cop, which begins filming in Buffalo, New York, next month. Check it out here along with more details!

The film was written by John Renna, who will co-star with Sam Qualiana (Snow Shark, The Legend of Six Fingers) as mismatched police detectives hunting the titular cannibal. The cast also includes Debbie Rochon (Dry Bones), Danny Hicks (Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn), and Timothy Patrick Quill (Army of Darkness).

Renna will co-produce and co-direct with Chris Rados (His Name Is Clownface) of Wny Grip & Lighting.

There are perhaps no more prolific actresses out there than horror icon Debbie Rochon. She has a list of credits to her name over 230 movies long and it's always growing. But she recently completed filming her directorial debut, Model Hunger, and can't wait to unleash it on the world.

Model Hunger stars Lynn Lowry, Tiffany Shepis, Carmine Capobianco, Brian Fortune, Michael Thurber, Aurelio Voltaire, Suzi Lorraine, Babette Bombshell, Geri Horn and Jayne Caswell. Rochon also enlisted the talents of well-known composer Henry Manfredini (who did extensive work on the Friday the 13th series) and a crew that she described as the best of the best for creating Model Hunger.

With such an extensive acting career, one wonders why Rochon never directed in the past as she's been in the entertainment business for most of her adult life. What finally triggered that desire to get her working on the other side of the camera?...

Production is now officially under way on writer/director Sam Qualiana's new found footage monster flick, The Legend of Six Fingers, and we have all the details along with some fresh behind-the-scenes stills and artwork.

Actress Lynn Lowry has joined the cast of Sam Qualiana’s upcoming found footage monster movie The Legend of Six Fingers, according to author and filmmaker Gregory Lamberson, who is producing.

Writer-director Qualiana and Lamberson previously collaborated on Snow Shark: Ancient Snow Beast and worked together on Chris Olen Ray’s Battledogs and Debbie Rochon’s Model Hunger. Lowry, memorable for her roles in George Romero’s The Crazies and David Cronenberg’s Shivers (aka They Came from Within), starred in Model Hunger, currently in post-production.
