    Spanish curiosity.

Imagine a contemporary BLITHE SPIRIT, with the fetching Elena Anya as the agoraphobic mother of a rebellious teen whose pop star dad is conjured up by his granny's witch friend.

Did I mention the teenage chum with an ambivalent sex drive, who has eyes for mum?

Events roll on towards the concert where the kid with no voice plans singing his scout song, backed by his pre-pubescent chums?

Subdued colour and tight multi-face close ups from the first time director.

The occasional effective moments should be accommodated in something more substantial

A fantasy and ghost film dealing with family relationships and personal traumas.

Seeing Lupe (Elena Anaya) locked up at home, in her bathrobe and slippers, no one would say that in the eighties she was a rock star. Ever since her brother died, Lupe has lived an agoraphobic life at odds with her teenage son and her rare Mexican mother (Angelica Aragón) . The concerts, the fame and the successes were alluring. Her agaraphobia does not allow her to leave home and she is totally dependent on Paquita, her mother, a superstitious and big-hearted Mexican, who not only takes care of her daughter but also her teenage son, Pancho (Cristian Bernal). The problem is that Paquita is running out of time and she doesn't want to leave without first getting her daughter back. Thring go wrong when the ghost Diego (Nahuel Pérez Biscayart) shows up . It takes a drastic 'Day of the Dead' ritual to wake her up and teach her the value of saying goodbye.

Debut in feature film direction by Beatriz Sanchis, who also writes the script for this dramatic comedy in which her characters, if they want to go out going forward, they must face their ghosts, which resolve to be some metaphorical and others downright real. Powerfully staged and convincingly acted, this debut feature film combines melodrama, comedy, and magical realism with a bubbling imagination across multiple levels of time and place to create a moving story of youthful identity and dark sibling love. Along with Elena Anaya, who gives a pretty good performance, a good supporting cast appears, such as: Patrick Criado, Nahuel Pérez Biscayart, Angélica Aragón, Christian Bernal, Patricia Reyes Spíndola and Macarena García.

En 'Todos están muertos' (2014) highlights the attractive songs, these are the following: ¨Inside Me¨ written by Tocho Guisado; ¨Sin decirte adiós¨ written by José Ángel Espinosa 'Ferrusquilla'; ¨Dream Analysis¨ written by Jesse Ruins; ¨Barco a la deriva¨ written by Gino Adrán Galán Guevara; ¨Happiness¨ written by Molly Drake; ¨De viaje¨ written by Jota , Florent Muñoz , May Oliver and Paco Rodríguez performed by Los Planetas; ¨It's No Reason¨ written by It's No Reason; ¨Looking for You¨ written by Tocho Guisado lyrics by Marta López Herrera performed by Escort Service; ¨Occultation¨ written by Cathal Cully , Miskimmim, Quinn, Brogan, performed by Girls Names; ¨Corazón automático¨ written by Akrobats.

The motion picture was well directed by Beatriz Sanchís. The film won the special jury prize, the Biznaga de plata for best soundtrack and Biznaga for best actress - won by Elena Anaya with Natalie Tena (for 1o.ooo km) - at the Malaga Film Festival 2014. Anaya was also nominated for the Goya, to the Fotogramas de Plata and to the Feroz for the best leading actress. Beatriz Sanchís is a craftsman who previously made Shorts: ¨Mi otra mitad¨, ¨La clase¨. Being this ¨Todos están muertos¨ her film debut, continuing directing 2 episodios of the TV Miniseries: ¨Nacho¨ and another film: ¨The Gigantes¨ (2021). Rating: 6/10.
