Horror and genre cinema fans are set for an unmissable event as Screams By The Sea returns to Bournemouth on 29th March for a single-day celebration of independent horror, sci-fi, and the macabre. Hosted at Pavilion Dance South West, this year’s festival promises an intense lineup of five feature films, a selection of short horrors, industry panels, and an opportunity for aspiring screenwriters to pitch their projects for a chance to land a major production deal.
The festival’s centrepiece is Jt Mollner’s Strange Darling, a gripping psychological thriller that transforms a one-night stand into a fight for survival against a serial killer. This highly anticipated screening will close out the festival after a day of mind-bending and blood-soaked cinema.
Audiences will also get to experience Scarlet Blue, a hypnotic French horror-drama exploring trauma and repressed memories, Suicide for Beginners, a darkly comedic exploration of a killer struggling with his victims,...

The Grammys took place in April, but we might not be done with music award winners just yet. Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Sheryl Crow, and The Beatles are the subjects of documentary programs that are eligible for this year’s Emmys. Will they be recognized by the TV academy just like they have been by the Recording Academy?
Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever” didn’t win any Grammys, alas, despite its seven nominations including Album of the Year. But her Disney+ special “Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles” is eligible for Emmys and is being submitted for Best Documentary or Nonfiction Special, as well as for its music direction, cinematography, and sound mixing. However, Eilish is not a credited producer or music director on “Love Letter,” so she herself won’t take home an Emmy if it wins its top category. Alas, the Grammy and Oscar winner...

Bonnie Raitt showcased her new album Just Like That… and talked about her classic LP Nick of Time on CBS Saturday Morning.
For the show’s “Saturday Sessions,” the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-inducted singer performed her rendition of the Bros. Landreth’s “Made Up Mind” and “Livin’ for the Ones” from the new LP, as well as her Nick of Time hit “Love Letter”; Raitt’s 1989 album was recently enshrined in the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry.
“Circumstantially, it changed my life,” Raitt said of Nick of Time on CBS Saturday Morning.

"Do you even understand what's happening right now?" Vertical Ent. has revealed an official trailer for an indie comedy titled Suicide for Beginners, marking the feature directorial debut of Craig Thieman. This is arriving on VOD to watch this May. Here's a pitch: "Writing the perfect suicide note isn't easy. Murdering a garage full of people is also pretty hard. But getting your victims to like you while you kill them, that's the really tricky part." Here's what it's actually about: "Insecure and unhinged, Garrett is dead set on murdering the unrequited love of his life, Mia. When he comes face to face with his victim, his awkward incompetence takes over and things quickly spiral out of control as he finds himself on a deranged path to becoming a serial killer." The film stars Wil Daniels, Sara Tomko, Nate Panning, Julia Lehman, Simon Crist, Christian Rozakis, plus Corey Feldman and Sid Haig.
