Don't Pay To See It

The high rating encouraged me to go and take a couple of friends. I felt bad for having done that. The movie is just over an hour long and that was too long. The lead guy was good as he portrayed a guy you want to get away from but all i wanted to do was get away from him.

The worker in the coffee shop looked like Dani Harrison (George's son) so i was eager to look it up after the movie. He's not listed but no one is listed for that role on this site, as far as i can tell.

So, perhaps if the movie shows up on tv and you have nothing else to do, maybe watch it but don't make the same mistake i did by encouraging anyone else to watch it.

Lost Generation

Let's see, descriptive words come to mind about this movie and they are mostly negative: sad, boring, annoying, amateurish, repetitive, and anything else you can imagine in the same downward spiral. The one good thing was the cinematography but it was wasted on this pointless script.

If you're looking for comedy or meaningful themes, there's just nothing here. I truly regret forcing myself to watch the whole thing just to see if it would get any better but it turned out to be a total waste of time.

I feel sorry for the current generation of 20-somethings- they seem, for the most part, just lost.

Excellent Film

This film skillfully explores various elements that make cinema an art form worth celebrating. From its sharp humor to the impeccable musical score, the outstanding acting, and the precise sound mixing, it exemplifies the highest standards expected from a production of this caliber. What sets it apart is its ability to take the cringe comedy formula and transform it into a strikingly extremist yet relatable narrative that unfolds in a well-paced one-hour-and-twenty-minute experience.

The cinematography is a standout feature, with its elegant simplicity and effectiveness. The deliberate use of extended shots, combined with a keen sense of pacing, keeps the audience engaged throughout. The film's naturalistic lighting approach is executed with precision, infusing every frame with a sense of purpose. The storytelling transcends the performances alone, although the actors deserve commendation for their exceptional work. In essence, this film maintains a consistent level of engagement, ensuring there isn't a single dull moment or a narrative misstep. It's a tasteful cinematic offering that rekindles hope in the overall movie-watching experience.

Rating: 8.8/10.

another cog in the late-stage capitalism machine

Free Time is a brilliant film that tells satirical commentary of (as pretentious as this sound) the current job market and how capitalism ruins our society. This film precisely portrayed the reality behind how the older generations keep saying 'Gen-Z doesn't want to work', in a smart, witty and very realistic way.

The awkwardness of the protagonist, the cinematography and the overall simplicity are the major highlight of the film. Although it's a satire, it doesn't rely on over-the-top comedy, and focus more on the plot. It's a genuinely funny and poignant film that are painfully relatable, especially if you work nine to five.

8.5/10.

Similarities

I use most of my time watching movies from my school life (either over-rated, under-rated, different language ,culture etc. I have watched them all ). After some surfing, I found "Free Time". On its first glimpse, I liked its poster and wondered what is it about. I read summary and It was kind of relatable with my life and decided to watch it.

Since I am living in a different country I kind of felt the same like "DREW". The only difference is that he left his job but I could not but the social life of him that is shown in the movie is totally the same as mine.

Overall, this movie is soo good as long as you can relate it with your/anybody's life.

Kudos! To the director and the Actor. Keep making movies like this (real life stuff).
